The visually arresting architectural design is worth a stop and a long look. You can even buy gasoline and diesel fuel here. Your only souvenirs will be photos, though. (I can't speak to the automotive garage's services.)

My father and grandfather owned and operated an Apco gas station in Estherville Iowa for many years. Gayle will tell you that when we travel, I'm prone to point out a property and state that it used to be a gas station, or look at a building and guess which brand designed it. As an example, some old Shell stations are easy to spot. So when my Brother suggested with stop at the gas station that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, I was all ears. Plus, we really did need to fill up the car (on the way to Ely MN) and take a comfort break. The Best Service Station itself was very non assuming, and it appeared to have an active car service bays. Bathrooms were upstairs behind some sort of cool "lounge" area, and the nice attendant was more than happy to fill our tank. And for a modest price, I purchased a nice branded coffee cup to remind of this cool little bit of architecture hidden within this small Midwest town.

Nice service station! We needed a propane bottle filled so we stopped in. Service was fast and friendly. We were in and out in about 5 minutes with our tank filled. Fast service, fair price. Nice!

We were in Cloquet for a softball game at nearby Braun Park, so made a quick detour to check out this 1958 Frank Lloyd Wright designed gas station. Never knew this was here before. Very cool!

While traveling from Hibbing to Duluth we stopped to see this gas station designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It immediately transports you back in time and is definitely worth stopping. Very memorable. Loved it! We toured Taliesin a few days later and loved it too. Learning a lot about FLW on this trip and while I wasn't a huge fan before, I now have a new found admiration for him.

This is a good old fashioned service station where you can stop by and talk about what's going on with your car and they will take a look right then and there. Nothing fancy, just quality service at VERY affordable prices.

I am outraged at you and/or your employee! Why in the world would ANY human being deny calling 911 when someone requests it???!!!! Blocking or interfering with a 911 call is illegal. ALSO...😡😡 ...IF denying a request, such as calling 911 caused any additional HARM or a LIFE due to the possible HUGE life endangering dely that you/your employee caused, I want you to know, you would get lawsuits against you for big $$$$!!!! Rethink your actions, retrain and PRAY that all is ok with the human beings that you may have harmed or put in harm's way. SHAME ON YOU!!! (And denying the request to a child??!!)😨😨😱😱😰😰😡😡😠😠😤😤

My wheelchair bound mother had an accident near here. My son ran and asked for a public phone or for an employee to call 911. The employee told him to run down the street to the firestation. My son also has physical problems as well as Aspbergers so this was very traumatic. Shame on that person! God forbid they need 911 and are turned away.
