The visually arresting architectural design is worth a stop and a long look. You can even buy gasoline and diesel fuel here. Your only souvenirs will be photos, though. (I can't speak to the automotive garage's services.)

My father and grandfather owned and operated an Apco gas station in Estherville Iowa for many years. Gayle will tell you that when we travel, I'm prone to point out a property and state that it used to be a gas station, or look at a building and guess which brand designed it. As an example, some old Shell stations are easy to spot. So when my Brother suggested with stop at the gas station that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, I was all ears. Plus, we really did need to fill up the car (on the way to Ely MN) and take a comfort break. The Best Service Station itself was very non assuming, and it appeared to have an active car service bays. Bathrooms were upstairs behind some sort of cool "lounge" area, and the nice attendant was more than happy to fill our tank. And for a modest price, I purchased a nice branded coffee cup to remind of this cool little bit of architecture hidden within this small Midwest town.

Nice service station! We needed a propane bottle filled so we stopped in. Service was fast and friendly. We were in and out in about 5 minutes with our tank filled. Fast service, fair price. Nice!

We were in Cloquet for a softball game at nearby Braun Park, so made a quick detour to check out this 1958 Frank Lloyd Wright designed gas station. Never knew this was here before. Very cool!
