My fiancé and I stayed here when we were in town for a wedding. It was our first experience at a B&B and we absolutely loved it. Bob and Ruth Ann were amazing hosts and made us feel very welcome. We had a great time touring the house and learning about the history. Would definitely recommend!!

We stayed in the Blue Room, and it was wonderful. Ruth Ann is a lovely hostess/tour guide. The four-course breakfast was what I'd always dreamed a bed-and-breakfast would serve. I love Victorian houses, so all the time period decor was fascinating for me. My husband couldn't believe what we got for the price. We would come back again in a heartbeat!Walkability: The house is a 5 minute walk from downtown shops and restaurants.

We stayed there in June and Oakenwald Terrace is an ideal basecamp for exploring the area. I have some dietary constraints and the hosts were very accomodating. The house is filled with distinctive antiques collected by the previous owner.

Such a great place to stay. Good food and the house is beautiful. Close to the city park and downtown. It is an easy drive to Rochester. Stay here and you will want to say again.

To begin with, Bob and Ruth Ann were excellent!!Oakenwald Terrace is very clean and offers everything our group was looking for..all our rooms were on the same floors, bathrooms for each room and centrally located between Lanesboro, Rochester and some of the Amana Colonies. The 5 course breakfasts were THE VERY BEST! Hot, homemade and tasty!!Bob and Mary Ann had great stories to tell along with history of Oakenwald Terrace. This is a must stay Bed n Breakfast!

Our stay at Oakenwald Terrace was outstanding. The house itself is so cool, and the owners have a long history in it prior to it becoming a B&B, so throughout the visit you can really get to know the house. The Innkeeper, Ruth Ann, is fabulous, incredibly friendly and accommodating, truly making you feel welcome in her home. And oh wow is she a great cook! The quiche and caramelized french toast were my favorite, but everything was simply delicious. Each room has it's own story and style, with plenty of space and comfort. We stayed in the Terrace Room which was perfect to have access to the back porch and get a high room. Honestly though, I'm sure every room would've been equally enjoyable. I'd highly recommend Oakenwald for a getaway anytime you are in the area.

Amazing a fun place and great people. If you ever want to stay in a Victorian home with some great folk. This is it. Also it was great to see the place and chat about family history. My family lived here till the early 60s. And ran it as a retirement home.

Amazing home filled with period stuff. Perfect B & B, wonderful hostess, great, room, over the top breakfast - fresh peaches and cream, pancake with banana and pecans, ham omelet, English muffin, fresh grapes. One of the top destinations in our 25 years of B&B visits.

Where do you begin! The breakfast was delicious, our room was awesome and the conversation was great. We stayed 3 nights with RuthAnn and Bob and they had such great stories and the history they shared was amazing. Definitely worth the trip to Chatfield, MN!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time with Ruth Ann and Bob during our stay for our anniversary. Not only is this a neat little B&B, but the owners know so much of the history and have wonderful stories to share. The meals were amazing and the 7-course dinner was an experience not to be missed. We will be returning! Thank you!

It was an awesome experience at my relatives' home to see it all decked out from basement to attic! This was decorated in honor of their mother and my Great Aunt Marion who passed away this last year! It was a wonderful tribute to her done by her daughter-in-law, RuthAnn, and son, Robert, daughter Connie, and RuthAnn's sisters! They did awesome baking with refreshments and a real blessing to tour this magnificent house and see my relatives that run this bed and breakfast! I got to share this with my special friends this year!
