Extremely frustrated and disappointed by this veterinarian clinic. Where to begin... Aside from the front desk ladies being rude whenever we called, had a question or tried to make/change an appointment, we also had awful experiences with multiple vets at this location. We brought our 10 year old dog in after she had been drooling blood. They did a full exam on her and couldn't find anything wrong so sent her home with some pain meds. When we got home and tried to orally give her the pain meds, we found an extremely large tumor on the back of her tongue. Unsure how the vet could of missed this, we brought her back in the next day to get it looked at. They tried to charge us for a full exam, AGAIN, after just being in there the day before and having the vet miss the issue. Ended up that it was a cancerous tumor that needed to be surgically removed. Understanding that things can be missed, we then brought our 1 year old dog in who had been throwing up and not eating for a few days. They concluded it was kennel cough and sent him home with some meds. The issue continued and even got worse, so we brought him in again. Still, they thought he might just be recovering from kennel cough and gave him an anti-nausea & appetite shot and sent me home with some bland diet soft food. The issue continued, so we brought him in AGAIN. They did some X-rays and the vet said he couldn't tell if there was any blockage and said that he could do an ultrasound sound to get a better look, even though he wasn't "an expert on ultrasounds". Appreciate the honesty but who says that? He did the ultrasound and still couldn't give us an answer if our dog was experiencing any blockage. Being very frustrated we weren't getting answers and having my dog be extremely ill, we brought him to an urgent care vet later that day. This urgent care vet also did X-rays and said it was clear as day that he had extreme blockage. They did emergency surgery on our dog finding a ton of fabric stuck in his stomach. Due to how long it had been sitting in there, he had complications during surgery and is currently recovering in hopes he can pull through. I have attached a video of what was pulled out of his stomach. How in the world was this missed by your vets? Between the 4 very expensive vet appointments trying to figure out what is wrong with our 1 year old dog and surgery on our older dog, we easily spent 3k + at this vet within a few weeks. Absolutely never returning to this clinic again and will not recommend anyone to go there. Will actually advise the opposite.

All of my experiences with VCA Chanhassen have been positive. The care from all staff members is exceptional. My latest appointment would have required my little Missy to wear a cone for 2 weeks until her stitches came out....instead she left the clinic in a t-shirt! So cute and so much less stressful for her!

Truly CANNOT recommend the VCA Chan Vet any longer. Absolutely disappointed with the end of life care and treatment we received this past month with our cat. I am not even sure where to start. Our cat was 15, not terribly old. She declined fast. My husband brought her in on 11.14.2020 to get looked at - with COVID you are not allowed into the room. So he went home. we live close. Not more than 10 minutes later the office called to say to pick up - that'll be $206. She is fine. What? No she was not fine. She was walking like a drunkin' sailor. Fast forward a few days to her death. We live 2 blocks from the Vet office. My husband has the cat on his lap for the short drive. She nips him on his thumb barely breaking the skin. She is scared. So are we. Sad. The staff are asking questions, we signed the cremation and euthanasia forms, paid. The usual for euthanasia of a pet. Then they ask if she has bitten anyone? My husband said "she just did on the way here because she was in the car and scared" - the response - "we can't put her down until you pay $195 for a rabies test". What? We had the option of keeping our suffering cat alive for 2 weeks or giving them our CC info right then to put our cat down. It was an awful feeling. The company that does the cremation and the vet are two different companies. We had already paid and signed the paperwork for her to be euthanized. ( $235+) Our cat has been an indoor cat her entire life. She was fixed and declawed when she was under a year old. ( don't judge - our apartment building requires it ) The Vet does a paw print imprint, it, it comes with the cremation. They bring it back in the box. It is not our cats imprint. The paw print clearly has claws. AND, the clay is completely dry. My husband is distraught already. I am mad. I could not keep my mouth shut. I muttered, "that is not her paw". Who does that? Anyway, I still have that and I will be bringing that back. Tacky that they even did it and left the instructions in the box that say the clay takes 24-48 hours to dry. The Vet still has our cats ashes. My husband refuses to pay $195 for the rabies test they sprung on us we were putting our cat down. Our cat had received the Rabies vaccine in July. It may be state law to test for cat that will be living and running around and active. I get it. Or, it may be MN State Law period. But, testing on a cat that bit an owner and the cat is being put down AND has been and indoor cat her entire life? Incredibly useless. Hurtful. Minnesota has no state wide law that requires rabies vaccinations. There is state law pertaining to rabies vaccination and certification. From the UofM: There is a $20.00 fee per animal and a $10.00 fee per accession payable to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) for rabies testing by the direct fluorescent antibody (DFA) test. Why does VCA charge $195?

Professional and friendly. However, if you’re sensitive to chemical irritants, they use very strong air freshener instead of ‘odor neutralizer’ which is not olfactory overload.

We LOVE VCA they take such good care of our babies. Even during COVID when it's curb service only. Their communication is above what we expected.

My first two routine visits with this vet were good. Once I had an emergency situation, the communication fell short. I was getting different stories from different vets about blood platelet issues. The clinic removed (against my advice) a bandage from a broke dewclaw (to not cause infection, understandable) with the expectation that I could keep it intact for a week and a half before they could perform surgery (high energy 4 yr old black lab). I felt the doctor could have di

Everyone was very friendly tiwards both me and my dog. They were very quick and efficient in checking out and prescribing meds. The clinic was clean and had a calming ambience. We utilized the free first exam offer they have which essentially took off $50 as we had to have additional testing done. Overall we spent around $180 for testing, meds, probiotic and prescription food.

We have been seeing Dr. Boileau and the rest of the Chanhassen staff since 1989. They have taken great care of our cats and dogs and have been so kind through difficult times.

The staff is so caring and attentive regarding my cat’s care. They really listened and always took time to answer questions and recommend a care plan. Thank you so much from me and Ace!

A few years ago I was visiting family in MN and when I was outside I noticed my dog had an infection under her paw. I found this veterinary clinic and they informed me they could see my dog that day. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I felt welcomed immediately by their genuinely caring demeanors. The clinic itself looks clean, there is plenty of parking available in their lot. The vet we saw was very helpful. She seemed very knowledgeable and wanted to help my dog as much as she could. My dog had to have a biopsy of the infected lump in her foot, we got oral antibiotics and wipes. Overall, I was very happy with our visit. I am always so skeptical when I go to any veterinary clinic/hospital. I was relieved and glad that the people are caring, kind and helpful here. The only little down factor was that it was a little pricey but not overly expensive.
