Lovely 9 hole golf course. Grab a bite to eat and a beer if you like. There are even a couple of Airbnb rentals above the clubhouse! Nicest owners too. Convenient location. Pool table, darts, and golf simulator! Love the way the owners do community fundraisers as well! Would recommend!

The grill must not be open on Saturday?!.Went for lunch. Offering only a hot dog or breakfast sandwich. The kid at the register was clueless as to whether they even had hot dogs. We left. Not a good first impression ?

Beautiful course for such a small town. Good mix of long and short holes. Course is well maintained and it's hard to lose a ball. Would highly recommend coming to this nice 9 hole course!

Played 9 holes of golf but had lunch before I went out. Lunch was tasty and fast! I would recommend the restaurant as well as the course. A great place to meet friends for a good time!

Review Date: May 2023Quick Summary:The golf course is well maintained, the staff are friendly, everybody greets with a smile including the owners, the site is clean and they have a kitchen again! If you're near Cass Lake and looking to have a great experience with the personal touches of a family-owned golf course then look no further!Golf Shop: Snacks, candy bars, sleeved golf balls, previously gamed golf balls of varying price, golf gloves, Red Bull, Gatorade. I do not remember seeing apparel but I'm a bigger boy so I never notice apparel at golf courses due to sizing requirements. I think there are hats and visors. Rental clubs are somewhat dated, but it is a smaller town so don't expect to rent some Taylormade P790's or some Mavrik irons. It's also not a seriously demanding course for equipment, so the rental sets are of a fair quality. The rental sets include men's, women's and I think I remember them having a left-handed set which is pretty thoughtful.Menu: The offerings range from fried foods, hamburgers, hot dogs, frybread tacos, breakfast wraps, chicken caesar salad wraps and Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. They also have the ability to modify menu items to your preferences so if you're like me and want to add a fried egg and hash browns to a cheeseburger it can be done. I asked if they could make a hotdog taco and they said sure! They do not do on-course delivery but they will let you call orders in to grab them at the clubhouse when you're coming in.Aiming Fluid: They have local favorites on tap like Bud Light, a local craft beer and another german ale. The bottle selection is standard for what you'd see at a local bar or resort with some tasteful selections based on customer feedback. They have Crown Royal Apple and regular, which is nice! You can also buy mixed drinks and coolers to help your swing on the course. The canned/bottled beer is also stronger than 3.2, which is always nice.Entertainment: A pool table, 2 of those fancy dart boards and a GOLF SIMULATOR! That's right, you can golf in the winter when your friends are too worried about a little frostbite to walk with you in those "sweater weather" -20 degree days! The virtual course selection, noise damping and fun factor are exceptional! The Course: A well maintained 9-hole track with reachable greens. The course does not have dramatic hills and complex terrain, so it's a great place to get some steps in. You will see a lot of nature, such as a picturesque body of water near the Hole 4 men's tee , bald eagles, plenty of birds, deer near dawn/dusk and if you golf like me a LOT of time in the woods.Carts: The club has gas-powered and electric carts available for rental. There are also some walking carts available in case you would like to enjoy nature.Members: The club offers 2 tiers of memberships. They also offer seasonal trail fees and a cart storage shed if you own a golf cart and want to keep it there for the season.Leagues: Men, Women, Senior Men and Mixed Doubles. The 2 core leagues are points-based handicap format with player-voted structures and games. I do not have information on the Sr. Men's league. The Mixed Doubles is not structured and anybody can show up and play an assortment of games in a relaxed format. It gets a little crazy once in a while so if you wish to participate keep in mind that it's not designed to be competitive.Events and Closures: The schedule is posted on the Sandtrap Golf Course website. Expect the course to be closed during league play hours, tournaments and other scheduled events. The club also hosts pool and dart leagues during local seasons year round. The patrons are friendly and the course stays open. The course also hosts Cass Lake-Bena JV and varsity golf teams during the abbreviated spring season as a practice and skills development facility. I do not remember if the club hosts any school golf meets.Disclaimer: I am a NET 16 HCP golfer on most 18-hole courses.
