Amazing in summer and winter. Stayed in 6 Swedes for mountain biking, trails were always well maintained and fun. Accommodations were great with kitchen and showers. Beautiful lake and property. Thanks Jay, Pat, Keith, and the rest of the Maplelag crew

Maplelag hosted our mountain bike camp last weekend. The newly renovated cabins worked perfectly for our team! The Candy Store cabin was our home base and it worked well for our group meals and our après bike activities. The beach, water toys, and sauna were well used also. Singletrack trails were in top shape as always! Thanks to the Richards family for hosting and helping make our Wolves weekend a success. Can't wait until next year!

First of all the location is beautiful. You can't find better scenery for cross country skiing and snowshoeing! And the trails are great so many options for both skiing and snowshoeing! Secondly - the food is definitely a major highlight. it's very hard not to overeat because all the food they make is amazing. Especially the brisket and custard dessert on Saturday nights. And who doesn't like bottomless cookie jars?? Their gift shop is great, and I highly recommend the sweatpants they have this year, because they're amazing. So comfy!

Note: we went as day skiers and not overnight guests and this is during covid. They charge a fee of 25 dollars per person for day use of their XC ski trails, which I think it pretty spendy. I understand that the lodge is closed to everyone except overnight guests but when we got there they were short with us and told us we could use the porta potties outside and that we had to change and warm up in our cars. They wouldn’t let us walk around the lodge, and when I tried to get a cup of tea and a cookie the front desk man told me it was closed and shoved a policy paper in my face. They watched us like hawks while inside and ushered us to the door and did everything but shove us out the door. The ski trails were very nice and we had a nice time once we left the lodge.

If you are looking for an escape at a gorgeous rustic resort that feels like you're home, this is the place for you.
Each of the cabins has their own character-no two are the same and the owners and their staff are wonderful. How do you say no to bottomless cookie jars or not having to wash any dishes or cook meals?!
I have been going here with my family every year for several years and every year it gets better!

Maplelag is pure magic - It is by far my favorite place to go cross-country skiing. They do a wonderful job of reporting the trail conditions, and keep their trails in tip top shape. I highly recommend getting out and experiencing their beautiful property, and treat yourself to some hot chocolate and homemade cookies!
