Went to get gas Noone in store door locked but open then guy comes around back to open for me n 3 other customers who then left n went to kwiktrip down the road

I dont understand whats going on with speedway gas station these days, but this experience is definitely going to be my last.
The pumps do not work well and the tap feature is not working.
Their prices are very marked up, I know gas stations markup as apart of their business model but this is ridiculous.
They were not always like this, they use to be better. I wonder if something happened at corporate.

Worst gas station ever! Terrible employees, shelves are never stocked, everything is filthy dirty. I just went there on a Friday at 945pm and there's a sign on the door, "open in 15 minutes" as the only employee is mopping the filthy floors. Why would anyone clean the floors and close a business for any amount of time on a Friday night?? That's a job you do at 2am when no one is in the store. Hire some employees with common sense and who don't have to have 5 minute conversations with every customer he talks to. Some people are in a hurry and don't have an extra 15 minutes for the employee to talk to 3 customers for 5 minutes each. Complete trash of a gas station!!!!

Most uncomfortable I've been at a gas station, all on a beautiful weekend late afternoon in a far-south suburb. Bare shelves inside, packs of teens taking their time in the lot, some wear inside and out, approached by an adult loiterer on leaving the store, neglected gas pump electronics with worn hardware squealing outside right next to the station (what an opportunity for a card skimming operation)... high times. As the cherry on top, gas was $.30 more expensive than stations I passed on the way home.
I have felt more safe at more dangerous gas stations in the cities simply for their seeming more predictable. This was just weird and not what I expected in suburbia. I got the vibe that anything goes when I pulled in and regret not turning around.
One positive note: Young solo attendant was both attentive and super chill, better than I'd do in these circumstances. You rock, my man. I do not know how I would run this store on my own.
If speedway wants to turn this store around: put some money into it, increase staffing, and do a blitz of "Broken Windows" style service for a quarter where everything is kept immaculate (like a Kwik Trip). If groups of kids are good business (probably a best bet given poor visibility/location from the main drag), get some picnic tables out there and make it into a safe, attractive place for locals within walking distance to spend a few minutes at with an ice cream or beverage. As it is now, there are too many blind spots and not enough staff to set the tone.
