WARNING! Talk to Labor and Industry BEFORE considering using this company. I paid and Hired this company to do a kitchen remodel and it was one of the most traumatic experiences ever! A 6 week job turned out to be a 6 month job. We had to live in our garage for 6 months during one of the hottest summers on record. The owner, in my opinion via my experience, is a con man. He talks a good talk but once he has your money he's gone! He owed ( at the time of my job) supplies companies funds which causes a chain reaction of MY materials being held hostage until he paid each of his previous debts to those companies. He hires unlicensed subcontractors. His back ground shows more violations with licensing division and IRS. I discovered this AFTER the fact because I ended up taking him to court. He told many untruths in court with a straight face. (I fortunately still won the judgment) He installed broken cabinets. Compromised my roofing TRUSSES. Had to have a building engineer come out to assess the damage. While working to repair that damage they FELL THROUGH MY CEILING! The patch job was just as bad as the hole they caused! I see that eye sore every day as do others when they enter my home. Be very aware and cautious when planning a remodeling job. (Especially with Minnesota Kitchens) Do your deep research before hiring anyone to entrust your investment when remodeling. Start with Labor and Industry. The BBB is no longer a credible resource. ANYONE can put a false review which pump up the companies rating. My kitchen remodel started in the beginning of the summer in 2019 and ended in the winter of 2019 AND I still feel the emotional impact this company and experience caused.

Minnesota Kitchens replaced my old cabinets, countertop and backsplash with showroom quality material and design. Their installers were top notch, and the staff is very helpful and creative. This was during the supply crisis in the economy, and they weathered this difficult process with equanimity. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

The turn over of project managers along with work not being completed on time (or ever) was a huge disappointment. I had high hopes from the beginning, but was very let down at the end. Lack of commination on all fronts within the business was disappointing, from design to work times and schedules, we would go weeks without hearing from anyone. We did enjoy working with a couple of the subs and have actually hired those subs to do some other work for us in other areas of the house as we continue to remodel elsewhere. We are completing the other work on our own that wasn't completed.

Minnesota Kitchens is by far not the best contractor we have worked with over the years. Our project scheduled for 12 weeks ran into 32 weeks. Many reasons for this mostly caused by incorrect cabinets orders and reorder times. The work they did was ok, not as I would expect from our meetings and planning although. We had an issue with no fan over cooktop, they said they would get back to us with a potential new design, never heard from them again!!. That is the disappointing part!! We had our our picks for counter tops and backsplash tiles not being filled and in the case of the counter tops, when we selected a new one, those were not available a day before install so had to make decisions in one day to have countertops.. Very disappointing. Same thing for backsplash tiles!!! Urg.. They charged extra for electrical work when they clearly understood the scope of the project.. Just very disappointing. We went through 2 service managers which again is too bad.... many parts not ordered or late from suppliers. Some is, ordered wrong part and some is clearly parts not ordered..... I would ask for references from these guys for sure!!! Our Kitchen is completed and we will have to resolve the vent issue with another company.

I started my process by meeting with three companies. After sharing my ideas I choose MN kitchens/Hale built homes because their designs were the best and were competitively priced. I'm happy with the new floor plan and the ceiling was able to be vaulted to match the conjoined space. This was an idea that I hadn't thought was possible until they brought it up. I would recommend MN kitchens/Hales Built Homes.Services: Remodeling

Would rate at less than 1 star if I could. Please read the entire review to save yourself a major headache. Chris and staff were great during the first visit, but everything after that was terrible.Communication: Communication was sub-par at best. Sometimes we'd go weeks without a response to a question. If we had a question on the massive time delays or the incorrect charges, we wouldn't hear back until we wrote a very strongly worded email basically demanding that they respond. Yet, when they wanted to collect payment, they were down your throats, even offering to drive out to MINNETONKA where my wife works to collect a check, yet they were so busy to do stuff at our house.Scheduling: They were supposed to start in the beginning of September, but didnt actually get materials until mid-October. They never once told us we should expect a major delay. When asked what was taking so long, they tried to pin it on us, saying we hadn't done the proper prep work for them to get started. Okayyyy - when was someone going to notify us of this? We weren't told that until WE CALLED three weeks after they were supposed to start. All the subcontractor scheduling was awful too. We had to basically demand that someone come do the work because it was taking months. Only after we sent snippy emails did they finally do the work.Payment: They tried to add on charges everywhere. Initially, they told us the countertops would be the sub's stock item, so they would be much cheaper. Only AFTER THE COUNTERTOPS WERE CUT AND INSTALLED did they tell as that 'oh by the way they weren't their stock item and they're actually much more expensive'. No change orders were signed, no call or text telling us this info. No sir - that is not how this works. It is not my fault you cannot effectively communicate with your subs. Long email chains later, they finally admitted they were wrong.Countless other little things here and there that made the experience one we wont forget, in the worst way.I will say, Tessa was amazing. She always responded to us, but unfortunately, it seems like they left her in the dark and she was just left to deal with angry customers. Good on her.

I worked with Minnesota Kitchens for a full kitchen and dining room remodel. After doing some extensive research and comparing quotes from various contractors, I decided to go with Minnesota Kitchens. Their quote was right in line with other contractors, but what sold me on using them was their timeliness in getting back to me with their final quote/estimate. After our initial meeting, I received my estimate the next day. We then tweaked and modified a few things to get to the design and price that I was comfortable with. Tessa, their designer was a dream to work with in helping me find the ideal style and aesthetics, for my kitchen, that I was looking for.
During the process, each contractor did their work in a timely manner and always left the work area clean and orderly after they were done.
Any questions or issues that came up were dealt with in a timely manner. Even though the project ran a bit over the expected timeline, I’m very pleased with my new kitchen and dining room space.

Chris, luke and Tessa did a great job of consulting from the first meeting on a floor plan change that suited our goals. The lighting in the whole kitchen, dining and living room is much better now. All of the colors and materials look great together. The crews and carpenters they have did a great job as well. I would recommend this company.

We met MN Kitchens at a remodelers show and after a brief conversation about our project they were able to separate themselves from the pack. Luke and Tessa understood that this was a large financial investment for us and they were very helpful and patient during the process. Tessa who does the design work was a lot of fun to work with and she was able to create a very cool 3D design which helped us visualize the end result. Just like you see on TV! They had lots of great ideas, competitive pricing, and beautiful designs. I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends. 5 stars!!”

I have had a lot of luck with Angie’s List reviews in the past, but my experience with Minnesota Kitchens was very different. They were highly reviewed and gave us an estimate which was in line with the other estimates we received. The initial meetings were helpful and we picked out some great colors and design for our kitchen.
Unfortunately, the cabinets we ordered were delayed by a week from the manufacturer, which put their schedule behind. They demoed and installed the basic cabinets in a day, but then we waited. Minnesota Kitchens kept saying they were too busy and could not get to us. We waited weeks to have the countertop measured and then waited for the installation. Once the countertops were installed, we waited weeks to have the water installed. Finally, after waiting and being told “someone is coming today” over and over, we had someone show up at 8:30 pm to install the water.
The water was put in incorrectly and leaked over our new cabinets. We could ask over and over to have it fixed and they said someone would come. We waited and when they finally came, they reported they could not find the leak. We still had large puddles under our sink in the base cabinet. After several weeks and several attempts, they finally found that the garbage disposal was put in wrong and leaked. Our new base cabinet have large warps in the bottom due to the leaking.
There were other things that we installed incorrectly and had to be repeatedly asked to be fixed. Our dishwasher was installed several inches sticking out from the cabinet and crooked. (we would bump it and turn it on if we tried to get close to our cabinet). Minnesota Kitchens told us it could not be moved in. They reinstalled it five different times (with weeks in between) and finally was able to get in correctly. There were cords running along our countertops which we had to repeatedly ask to be moved. The tile person put brown grout in around the tile that had to be moved to put in the cabinets. The tile was dirty from the construction, but he actually blended brown grout in into the white grout which was there He came several times before the correct color was put in. There were other frustrating issues like the granite for the countertops being cut on an angle (we had to send back a refrigerator due to this and go yet another week without a refrigerator so we could get one which fit in the opening) to add to the list.
At the end of the project we noticed cracks and chips in our new cabinets. It took several weeks for Minnesota Kitchens to get back to us about this issue. When they did they said, it was a defect in the cabinets and they sent the manufacture’s representative to look at the cabinets. (He was great—he came in a couple of days and fixed a lot of the errors which he could during his inspection). The cabinet representative said that cabinets were installed incorrectly and had to be fixed. We contacted Minnesota Kitchens about this. Our first contact with them was in June. This is review is being posted in September—we have still not had the cabinets fixed.

We ended up not starting the project they helped us design due to financial constraints. Thry werrle extremely helpful during the design process and were understanding of our situation. We didnt feel pressured at all. We look forward to working with them in the future!
