WARNING! Talk to Labor and Industry BEFORE considering using this company. I paid and Hired this company to do a kitchen remodel and it was one of the most traumatic experiences ever! A 6 week job turned out to be a 6 month job. We had to live in our garage for 6 months during one of the hottest summers on record. The owner, in my opinion via my experience, is a con man. He talks a good talk but once he has your money he's gone! He owed ( at the time of my job) supplies companies funds which causes a chain reaction of MY materials being held hostage until he paid each of his previous debts to those companies. He hires unlicensed subcontractors. His back ground shows more violations with licensing division and IRS. I discovered this AFTER the fact because I ended up taking him to court. He told many untruths in court with a straight face. (I fortunately still won the judgment) He installed broken cabinets. Compromised my roofing TRUSSES. Had to have a building engineer come out to assess the damage. While working to repair that damage they FELL THROUGH MY CEILING! The patch job was just as bad as the hole they caused! I see that eye sore every day as do others when they enter my home. Be very aware and cautious when planning a remodeling job. (Especially with Minnesota Kitchens) Do your deep research before hiring anyone to entrust your investment when remodeling. Start with Labor and Industry. The BBB is no longer a credible resource. ANYONE can put a false review which pump up the companies rating. My kitchen remodel started in the beginning of the summer in 2019 and ended in the winter of 2019 AND I still feel the emotional impact this company and experience caused.

Minnesota Kitchens replaced my old cabinets, countertop and backsplash with showroom quality material and design. Their installers were top notch, and the staff is very helpful and creative. This was during the supply crisis in the economy, and they weathered this difficult process with equanimity. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

The turn over of project managers along with work not being completed on time (or ever) was a huge disappointment. I had high hopes from the beginning, but was very let down at the end. Lack of commination on all fronts within the business was disappointing, from design to work times and schedules, we would go weeks without hearing from anyone. We did enjoy working with a couple of the subs and have actually hired those subs to do some other work for us in other areas of the house as we continue to remodel elsewhere. We are completing the other work on our own that wasn't completed.

Minnesota Kitchens is by far not the best contractor we have worked with over the years. Our project scheduled for 12 weeks ran into 32 weeks. Many reasons for this mostly caused by incorrect cabinets orders and reorder times. The work they did was ok, not as I would expect from our meetings and planning although. We had an issue with no fan over cooktop, they said they would get back to us with a potential new design, never heard from them again!!. That is the disappointing part!! We had our our picks for counter tops and backsplash tiles not being filled and in the case of the counter tops, when we selected a new one, those were not available a day before install so had to make decisions in one day to have countertops.. Very disappointing. Same thing for backsplash tiles!!! Urg.. They charged extra for electrical work when they clearly understood the scope of the project.. Just very disappointing. We went through 2 service managers which again is too bad.... many parts not ordered or late from suppliers. Some is, ordered wrong part and some is clearly parts not ordered..... I would ask for references from these guys for sure!!! Our Kitchen is completed and we will have to resolve the vent issue with another company.

I started my process by meeting with three companies. After sharing my ideas I choose MN kitchens/Hale built homes because their designs were the best and were competitively priced. I'm happy with the new floor plan and the ceiling was able to be vaulted to match the conjoined space. This was an idea that I hadn't thought was possible until they brought it up. I would recommend MN kitchens/Hales Built Homes.Services: Remodeling

Would rate at less than 1 star if I could. Please read the entire review to save yourself a major headache. Chris and staff were great during the first visit, but everything after that was terrible.Communication: Communication was sub-par at best. Sometimes we'd go weeks without a response to a question. If we had a question on the massive time delays or the incorrect charges, we wouldn't hear back until we wrote a very strongly worded email basically demanding that they respond. Yet, when they wanted to collect payment, they were down your throats, even offering to drive out to MINNETONKA where my wife works to collect a check, yet they were so busy to do stuff at our house.Scheduling: They were supposed to start in the beginning of September, but didnt actually get materials until mid-October. They never once told us we should expect a major delay. When asked what was taking so long, they tried to pin it on us, saying we hadn't done the proper prep work for them to get started. Okayyyy - when was someone going to notify us of this? We weren't told that until WE CALLED three weeks after they were supposed to start. All the subcontractor scheduling was awful too. We had to basically demand that someone come do the work because it was taking months. Only after we sent snippy emails did they finally do the work.Payment: They tried to add on charges everywhere. Initially, they told us the countertops would be the sub's stock item, so they would be much cheaper. Only AFTER THE COUNTERTOPS WERE CUT AND INSTALLED did they tell as that 'oh by the way they weren't their stock item and they're actually much more expensive'. No change orders were signed, no call or text telling us this info. No sir - that is not how this works. It is not my fault you cannot effectively communicate with your subs. Long email chains later, they finally admitted they were wrong.Countless other little things here and there that made the experience one we wont forget, in the worst way.I will say, Tessa was amazing. She always responded to us, but unfortunately, it seems like they left her in the dark and she was just left to deal with angry customers. Good on her.
