Love Buck hill for the proximity and reasonable pricing. We went here once last year, and this year it's been a bit of a weird snow year, but they continued to deliver despite the unseasonably warm temps! We also love the kitchen and bar area in the ski lodge, the food is delicious and thoughtfully planned, and the beer selection is great! We found the snow during our unseasonably warm trip to still be soft despite the above freezing conditions, and going on a weekday is always preferable, we love the pricing and affordability for a 2 hour night ski, and the mountains felt like they were all ours. One highlight we really appreciate is the care and attention to the ski lift, they are very diligent in ensuring a positive experience, so if you happen to fall coming off the lift, they are quick to slow the lift down to ensure you're able to get up and keep moving without rush or fear of collision. We love Buck Hill, and will be happily returning again and again!

Review for snow tubing- This is a fun family activity, good to spend 2 hours or so. Probably not much longer than that, as kids can wax and wane some with their desire to go after awhile. Snow tubing was sold out the night we went & there was some variation with wait times. Sometimes the line to ride the conveyer was long, sometimes there was no line. There was always quite a line at the top. There were something like 6-7 lanes, I can't quite recall and didn't count them, but they were decent waits each time. As the night went on (we went 5-7pm) the lines were short closer to 700 at the end. Not sure what is typical, as there might sometimes be a late night rush as admission prices go down. Each lane is the same slope, speed, and that kind of thing, so once you have done one, the others are just like it. Linking tubes and making groups or going down headfirst or backward can provide enough variety to keep kids or adults engaged. It was quite fun, but can get expensive quickly with a family. Wild Mountain Snow tubing is more thrilling, but this is a good option in the metro area.

For tubing; be prepared to only go 2-5 rounds within 2 hours they give you. Terrible management at the tubing area. Staff let people budge other people and no help with lines at all! Poor management for lining up. Workers were all over the place and didn't even help.

I just left Buck hill after attending for the first time and I will not be back. Every year my family goes tubing at Elm Creek but we wanted to try your business despite it costing more than other places. It was a big disappointment and extremely unsafe. We had a time slot from 2-4. We arrived at 2:05. The process of checking in, getting a tube, and waiting to go down the first time took 40 minutes. I'm not sure if too many tickets are sold at a time, but the check-in process was extremely slow for having already bought tickets and the lines to go down the hill are ridiculous. The ending needs to be completely reconstructed due to the numerous collisions. My first time down I hit a kid and made him fly off his tube. The second time down someone else and I collided and hit heads. Despite being ready to go my daughter wanted to go one more time. Since we had paid $75 for my family of 3 we decided to go again. By 330 we had managed to go down twice and were waiting in line for our final ride. While waiting someone else collided and ended up having to have medics called. We waited about 5-10 minutes before the person could even get up and then decided to take it as a sign that it was time to go. 2 trips down, and 2 collisions for $25/ each were hardly worth the cost.

Buck Hill has no COVID policy. I asked several times and it was ignored. Be prepared that they WILL NOT return your money if you cancel a lesson due to COVID symptoms and they failed to reschedule my lesson, after I paid the fee to do so. So I can only assume they want to spread disease at Buck Hill. You will be out $75 if you happen to get sick in an untimely manner. The staff are very immature and rude in dealing with customer issues.

Long Lines. Not shoveled well. Had to wait in line for so long and dealt with snotty employees. They close hills and tubing for no reason. Honestly one of the worst run businesses I've had to endure in a while. Extremely disappointing.

For the area, this is a good ski/snowboarding spot. Their black diamonds are going to be like a blue out west. However, within the city limits this offers a fair amount of skiing enjoyability. The runs may be considered short, but It does have a terrain park and snow tubing where the riders appeared to go quite fast, and the staff is very friendly. If you have children, are learning to ski/snowboard, and/or are at an age where you would still like a challenge but don't want the temptation of doing something that may place you in a bodycast, this is a good place for that.

After two recent visits to Buck Hill, I have to say I am appalled by the ski area's lack of COVID-19 practices - a potential public health disaster, especially given the reality of community spread and new variants that are much more contagious. We witnessed lift operators with masks covering their mouth only and long ticket purchasing lines that consistently included people who stand shoulder-to-shoulder and with no guidance or enforcement of social distancing. Once indoors to buy your ticket (where contagions are more easily spread), there was no monitoring of the number of people allowed in the small and very crowded ticket office, or of those who were not masking. Lift lines were also shoulder-to-shoulder and we regularly witnessed people riding together who did not come together/did not know each other. We walked in and then quickly out of the indoor restaurant; we had wrongly assumed we could safely order and then eat outdoors. The indoor restaurant was literally crowded with people eating and drinking or standing closely together in line to order. While those not eating or drinking were often masked, no COVID restaurant capacity restrictions appeared to be being followed and social distancing was clearly not happening in the restaurant. Resorts in the West-that are much larger and with bigger crowds-seem to have their COVID safety practices down. While I applaud Buck Hill for staying open to area skiers, here's hoping that Buck Hill's management will up their COVID safety measures and become a more responsible business and community leader. Until that time, we will ski elsewhere.

COVID TUBING! My first time to Buck Hill...and it was fine. I'm glad I went. I thought it would be super fun and I'd want to go back. I do not. I mean, I would, but probably not. You can see exactly how many tickets have been sold online. I went on a weekday with two 3rd graders and I believe our session was about half sold. It did not feel crowded. It's nice that they are requiring masks. I like that. Buying online was easy. Arriving a half hour after opening was easy. When we left the parking lot was crazy. We walked up to the little booth near the tubes. Everything was well marked. I thought the young-ish employees were nice. It's wonderful to use the magic carpet and not walk up the hill. $20 for two hours feels reasonable. We got bored. Since all the lanes are the same, this gets a little boring after a few runs. I'm still glad we went! BC we were one of the early time slots, not all lanes were open and they kept changing the rules at the top of the hill for things like which lanes could be chains and if we needed to get a "GO" for each run. It was fine, the employees were still cool. At the bottom of the hill is a fire pit. Several other adults were hanging out and talking about how the capacity our day felt nice, but it had been crazy on a previous weekend, which I noted sold out online. We thought about ordering lunch there, but the online system said 30-45 minutes for food and none of the outdoor tables had been cleared of snow. So we skipped that.

I am reviewing based strictly on mountain biking (for now). Took the women's MTB clinic this summer--truly one of the funnest things I've ever done! Erik Moe did an EXCELLENT job teaching and scaffolding the 3 weeks of lessons so we all felt comfortable and more confident. Yvette and Ryan were also teachers that gave good tips and support as well. Perfect balance of challenging ya, yet working patiently with us as well. I feel a ton more comfortable with the technical aspects of MTB now, and officially now just plain enjoy the hell out of it! The trails at Buck are great! Well kept up, diverse, fun, and not busy. Awesome, awesome!!

Worst concert rip off. Paid $120 VIP tickets and fot butts. General admission half the price of VIP tickets were allowed to block the view. Security shrugged it off so sorry you were stupid enough to buy tickets and gave to look at butts. Don't waste your money buy general admission tickets. Total waste of money The music was great. It was the seating. Plus there were reserved seatings in the VIP section which did not have much seating to begin with. But the music was great and as always the people were pleasant it was just the VIP cost was a total waste of money. General admission gets you the same thing.

My family has been a part of Buck Hill since 1996; my husband even worked here in the early 90's. New ownership, poor customer service, and not worth the money for the chaotic environment, lack of upkeep, and the way this place treats its customers (and staff for that matter...) - whoever bought this place is dragging it it into the ground. Sell it back... No desire to give this place my money, will not recommend, or bring family that comes into town here ever again. Will buy season passes elsewhere and endure the extra drive next season. Too bad after enjoying this place for over 20 years. No good.

I haven't been skiing in 20+ years because my wife kept saying that she would try skiing. Well today was that day. We BOTH took their offered classes for $40 each which included the rentals and the class with a lift ticket. Michael and Tom were our instructors and they were friendly and patient with people. I had never been through lessons so it was good to see how they teach how to ski. My son may want to go boarding. I would try that too. When we were done with our $40 class special, I didn't see it described but after the class, the lift ticket expires shortly after. They said that you can upgrade the lift ticket to all day for only $10. They have inner tubing here too. I will have to go back to try that. These hills are small and this place is perfect for beginners. Buck Hill is a convenient place to go skiing or boarding or tubing close to the cities. There are larger places further out. Buck Hill also talks about summertime mountain biking course. I may have to try that too.
