Do not rent a POD! Worst customer service! We were given a quote on line, paid and found that the quote given was not what we were charged. They inflated their charges by over $100! POD was delivered and not placed exactly where we had stated. We called, they came out repositioned the POD and charged us $116 for them to reposition it - which they never disclosed plus it was their mistake! They are awful!!!!!!!! They deserve the worst rating and not even a star!!!!

Communication given to me prior to drop off was different than when I called a few days after drop off. Would not recommend.

When getting PODS picked up once full or emptied- was not able to choose pick up time and days were limited. Upon arrival to fill the container, I didn't have the container for 24 hours before they wanted to pick it up, but it wasn't ready and then it was very hard to get in contact with the company and driver to see if time could be changed (needed it picked up that day as I closed on my house). Upon picking up the emptied container a few months later- the dates were limited to when it could be picked up (7 days later).

I'll file the insurance again as PODS instructed in response to my Yelp review. But this isn't just about insurance. The PODS contract is anti-customer regarding RODENTS, even when the PODS location carries the infestation. In my case the rodents attacked the POD while it was 'secured' at a PODS facility. Paragraph 5 of the PODS contract clearly violates the 'you break it you fixit' fairness rule. The contract transfers all of the RODENT risk to the customer, regardless of the pod location and even if RODENTS from Pods's facilities attacked your items while they were stored at the PODS facility. You could say it's the perfect business model, the customer pays the money, buys the insurance and still assumes all the RODENT risk. I paid PODS thousands and lost thousands in merchandise. Had I not packed well, I would have lost thousands more.

The PODs unit made it easy to move my smaller stuff on my time. It helped show our house during our listing and made the move a lot easier.

We needed to store furniture during new carpet installation and settled on PODS to store it onsite. They came when they said, were pleasant and professional, and removed the POD when they said they would. Can't ask for more than that!

Great experience in communication with the delivery drivers for drop off and pick up. Pod was very clean and when we received our items back, our items were still in good shape.*Several issues with billing/charges and not being able to talk with anyone who could actually help. We were assigned a 'manager' and they closed our case without contacting us.After a month of trying to get our answers, run around and lots of frustration, we filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau. It took filing a claim with the BBB to get this company to finally call us and see how they could be done with us. Very poor.

First, PODs was not clear about what they charged for the storage unit I rented. Second, when I called them to pick up the unit, it took them two weeks to do it and they charged me for the additional time. I sent them two letters regarding the situation but no one from PODS contacted me. Instead, they sent the remaining balance of $74 for collection; this was on a total bill of roughly $920. I will not do business with them again.

TL;DR - If you live in the city of Minneapolis and want to put your pod on the street, please reconsider or at least do some serious research about permitting requirements as the company policy does not match city requirements and communication is frustrating bordering on impossible. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. Pods took what is an already stressful and expensive process and made it into a nightmare. I was not informed I needed to pull a permit for my pod until an hour before it was delivered, and even then I only learned about it because I called the company to double check my container placement. They only work with a third party permit company who charge a fee that is more expensive than the permit itself.I thought that was the worst of it until I received a $400 additional charge for "difficult delivery". After significant time on the phone with both pods and the city of Minneapolis, I learned that the company has a deal with the city in which they are required to pull permits for containers on the street. Because my permit was pulled the same day and not by the company, as required, the city fined them for illegal placement. Pods then passed that fine to me, without telling me (I only noticed it when going over my credit card statement).I did everything I could to ensure a smooth and painless move and this company has made it into an overwhelming, hugely expensive, and incredibly stressful process. I will never use Pods again and will tell everyone I know the same thing. What a nightmare.

I was told my delivery was included in the quote. Address was found to be "out of service area" after they had my property. Charged me $400+ to have it delivered because I was 19 miles past service area line. They did not tell me this when I placed my order.

I would NEVER use PODS again, the driver took out the tree at the end of my driveway, placed my 16ft POD in my driveway diagonally blocking my neighbors driveway and then took my 2nd POD back to the warehouse instead of dropping them at the same time. I have called and emailed PODS countless times since the end of August and you can’t get anyone to call you back. Everytime I call customer service they can not provide me with a phone number to speak to anyone. I’ve never seen anything like this that people in their corporate office don’t have phones only email. I’ve tried to handle this without legal representation but at this point they are leaving me no choice.
