Bins. Wow. Clothing in Bins. My first visit today to Goodwill. I actually checked it out online first, and I read about the bins, but to actually see it and experience it? Wow. Ok..I have been to Savers and to Consignment Stores, but the clothes at those stores are hang on hangers, like a normal clothing store....so to see clothing set in bins is actually kind of shocking. I just wandered around first, trying to learn about what was happening. The store is vast, with wall-to-wall blue bins in rows. There are two types of merchandise in the bins; "hard lines" and "soft lines." Hard lines are toys, records, shoes, and assorted items. Soft lines are clothing. Hard line signs are dark blue, soft line signs are light blue. People engage aggressively with both the hard and soft lines, and the bins "churn" with merchandise as hands move it around. This was an experience to take in. It was actually a turn-off for me. I don't think I'll be returning....

They do rotations every 20-25 mins for each section. Plenty of space to walk with the shopping carts! people are not rude at all, there is a little bit of hassle at the shoe bins though. The bathroom is Very clean. no chairs to sit to rest when waiting on a rotation. not a lot designer stuff , a bit of unmatched shoes but a lot cute plushies and home decor! Best first trip here.

Huge shout out of thanks to Steve in the donation drop off area- he was so helpful and willing to jump in and get some heavy furniture and big boxes out of my truck! His attitude was great and he thanked me when I left! So often thrift stores are rude when they see a truck coming, but Steve was positive and appreciative and he made my day!!

I came here with a friend and kids which was an adventure in itself and I have to say it was kinda fun. I haven't been thrusting since I was a kid and found that a lot of people find great stuff. They rotate the bins and people line up to basically jump in it's very hands on. You can be looking in the same bin as someone else as that's what I saw a lot of. You definitely have to have lots of patience and dig through a lot to find some gems. The working lot gets so packed so if you are someone that likes to thrift I would suggest coming in super early.

So. GOODWILL CORP. is a Non-profit in tax status only. Look up their executives’ salaries, their annual revenue, and their requirements to fulfill in order to absolutely skate on their tax obligations. Then do a quick Google search to the tune of “is Goodwill a good or bad organization”. I don’t think it’s right to pay the people they are claiming to want to help, like $3/hr or $5/hr. Or even $7/hr… but they think it’s ok. And they do it. Also more than one or two people have actually died in accidents in their warehouses. I didn’t know that happened anymore so I would say go somewhere else to do your Thrifting or shopping or whatever else you do at the Goodwill mad-dash-bin- fight… I’d go right across the street to the grey building. Way better

Arrived at 3:40 to find half the bins gone, and within an hour 90% of the bins were back behind the doors. There’s many many employees still, all working only to pull the bins away from shoppers. I asked if they were closing early they said nope. Just what they do at this location.Seems like a crazy way to operate a business, not going to make any money if you take away all the products from customers trying to shop.

Arrived 1hr before they close but I didn’t realize they were already removing bins to the back. Literally as I was shopping through a bin, a worker pulled it away and pushed it to their back room. Sooooooo weird and awkward!!! Who even does that? There were only 3 rows of bins— 2 with clothing & 1 with toys/dishes etc. The place was very empty. Price per pound was just ok. Furniture was very cheap (all under $15) but all of them were in pretty bad shape. And selection of only 7 furniture pieces. I like to come for books but none were in sight. Super disappointed

It’s an okay store but they pull bins away from you an hour before they even close. I wouldn’t recommend going even two hours before they close.

Dear Shop Goodwill Online Store ( Winnetka Ave,)RE: Singer Red Eye Antique Sewing MachineI made a Steller effort to pick up this item and pay in person today. On the payment page, an address and store hours were listed. Also, the instructions directed me to call for a pick-up appointment. This morning I called 3 times. No one answered the phone. I left a message to call me back at 9:30 am. At 11:00 am I still had no call back. I drove to the store ( 30 miles one-way ) to retrieve my item. When I pulled up an employee was outside...playing on a phone. Too bad he couldn't maybe answer the phone. I asked if I could pick up the item. I was told1. I had to pay for the item online before I could see the item.2. I needed an appointment and they were too busy to give me an appointment today3. After I paid for the item, getting an appointment might take 2 days, because they were so busy processing orders.Funny? The parking lot was empty.I explained I had driven 30 miles to get the item, and was happy to pay without seeing the item. However, I wanted to plug it in to see if it worked. I was told to go home and follow the person's verbal instructions. Here is what I want to say :1. Please place these rules on the winning bid page and your contact info. You should have been upfront about all your rules and ability to process the order.2. Please answer the phone. 3. You showed me no " Good Will"

Love coming here! You never know what you'll find. TIPS: ALWAYS ALWAYS take a cart! Always BRING a bag with you to bring your stuff home, Don't touch a new bin that they bring out, until they say you can, and you can take things apart here, so if you see a board game that you only want the dice to, but nothing else, just open the game and take the dice! But be respectful, and keep like things together for the next person (a LOT OF PEOPLE throw stuff around, I do NOT like this. I got two things! See pics!

Fun place! I suggest gloves because you have to dig through massive bins. Priced by the pound. If you go on weekends the bins are only clothes!
