I literally worked here for two days and I got the flu from one of the kids. This particular school has no organization and no structure pertaining to the class I was put in with the toddlers. This job requires so much but has nothing solid put in place besides when they eat and their nap time. What really was disappointing is when I told them upfront that the job wasn’t a fit for me they took forever to pay me for my days I attended orientation and the two days working in the classroom.

Over the last 19 years of being a parent, I have had three children go from six weeks to five years of age at New Horizon Academy’s throughout the metro area. I want to take the time to celebrate my youngest daughter and the Brooklyn Center New Horizon. It’s kind of like where do I start everything has been great Michael Pittman the Director came in from out of state and picked up his role immediately he was completely engaged. He is adaptive. He’s a great listener. He’s resourceful. He makes me feel like the ship is under control. Great operations by Mr. Michael, next I wanna shout out lyric she is my daughter’s Bestie and works/ manages the morning shift. She has been everything for my daughter. when lyric is there, my baby is fine to go and play lyric has done my daughters hair gone out of her way above and beyond to touch base with me regarding learning development, potty training, etc. I can’t wait to see where she goes with this company. I would recommend her for any job with children anywhere! Lastly, Miss Sironda, the preschool head teacher is an amazing, strong, determined, dedicated, hard-working, mother and woman. I have seen her day in and day out deal with a classroom full of kids with learning disabilities, speech, delay, autism, and this girl keeps her cool at all times she just runs the show and not only does she do it but she does it in a loving, caring manner. I trust her and her kids around my kids any day, I think the only thing she needs is to believe in herself a little bit more but she is doing the work. She has one of the hardest classrooms to handle with all of the children’s special needs and she is a pro and the fact that she keeps her cool at all times she’s kind! so all in all this is a 5 Star Center by far they don’t have nearly the resources that say, the Minnetonka Center has but boy did these girls, and this gentleman make it work! I am absolutely confident when I drop my baby off every morning that she will be well cared for. They will communicate with her. They will meet her needs and go above and beyond I love all New Horizon, but this one needs a special shout out because they don’t have some of the advantages of some of the other demographics, and they still provide excellent care for the children. And excellent service to the parents highly recommend 10/10

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN HEREReasons why1. The “Director’s” MELISSA AND JESSICA, so unprofessional.2. They hire unqualified young adults who baby sit instead of actually teaching the children3. They don’t keep up with the standards as far as sanitation, security, and employees4. The employees are verbally abusive to children and other staff members. My son cried and screamed everyday I left him there for the 3 months he was there. He hated it, because once again they aren’t qualified child care workers they are just there for the pay. They all smile in your face but trust me you don’t want your children to attend here. I honestly feel bad for the foster kids who have no choice but to stay there. I can only image what else they are doing to children.

The staff was nice, but my daughter hated it here she screamed every single day at drop off while she attended, so I had a couple concerns with that because at the other facility she never did that I switched her as soon as her spot opened up at one of the other locations and on her first day back at the other location she didn’t cry at all. I don’t plan on ever bringing my child back to this location, I had a few things I didn’t like about it but I don’t have to worry about that anymore

My children have been going to this center since 2016 and I ABSOLUTELY love the staff here. I love that my children love and brag about their teachers and brag about their friends. My son who has major behavior problems whom is a handful gets treated great and they have been trying to help me every step of the way with this journey that i am having with my 4 year old. I cant tell you the countless times I have cried due to his behavior and Miss Tracy always tells me it's gonna be ok. We will help him any way we can to get thru this! Now my newest is at the center and Miss Emilia loves her babies in the infants room! Some of these post I have seen have blown my mind.. I have never seen any of these things.. Especially Ive never seen the lack of care to a child in any room what so ever! Yeah they may have had a change in staff. What people dont understand that alot of these ladies are going to school to their degree in early childhood education. So they arent just simply a turn over. Also alot of these ladies go to other locations to help out or become teachers at another new horizion. I love this place and they almost become another family to my children. Well done ladies and well done Jessica on your amazing staff!

I would give this place ZERO starts if I could! STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! this is by far the worst daycare I have Ever dealt with. When my daughter was 3 months old and couldn't even sit up on her own they had her on the floor unattended and an older child came up and bit her cheek leaving an awful bruise that took a long time to go away. I should have pulled her from that daycare then! They also were clearly not changing her often because she developed an awful diaper rash that I couldn't get rid of for the life of me but what do u know as soon As I removed her from that daycare she was 100% within a week. The final straw was i showed up early to puck my daughter up and she was screaming at the top of her lungs her face was red and she had snott all over het face there were 3 employees in the room and 2 other babies I could tell she had been crying for a long time NO ONE tending to her she was just on the floor screaming. AN INFANT! it took everything inside me not to tear that place up even typing this makes me angry. New Horizon was getting close to 500 a week to watch my child! If she so much as coughed someone she have been running over to see if she was ok with those prices but instead she was ignored and neglected. EVERYONE involved should have been fired and the owner should be ashamed. I usually don't write reviews but I would hate to not warn others. KEEP YOUR CHILD AWAY FROM THAT PLACE.
