“Nice variety of new sippers to try. The guys are nice, they took the time to give me the rundown on some new brand formulas so I could make an informed purchase; too many operations to pick from!! I later realized they offer singles to try, so next time I stop in, I can go straight for those! I like to support small local businesses when I'm not near my main place of purchase!”

“This is my go to liquor store for a reason. Their selection is huge and they are constantly stocking newer labels. I especially love their little locally made sections that are littered through the store. The staff here are also wonderful. They're super nice and helpful, even when I am literally in the soju isle asking where the sujo is.”

“Always great suggestions from the staff. Don’t see what you want? I have had them to offer to order it in for me. Amazing staff and products. I no longer shop “big name” liquor stores; they are my go to.”

“Cool little liquor store that has been in the same location for decades! Small selections though and few allocated bourbon bottles get priced through the roof. I would get my basics here though.”

“I used to come here now and again some years back, I stopped in and found it under new (2yrs) ownership. It's a new and fun store with an open floor design and I will be back!”

“They have a well stocked wine selection that is well organized and a pretty good selection of craft beers. They often have sales on some items that allow for some great deals.”

“Always playing good music. Seems to have a decent selection and is always stocked. I was a few cents short once, and the older guy said it was a special discount. They always have what I'm looking for.”

“Some of the best places to find a wide selection and many top shelf rare varieties as well, and they have some good deals so check to see if your favorites are on sale. I got a 1.75 of Stolichnaya Vodka for about $24.00 sale special, usually 34.00. Knowledgeable staff as well.”

“I'd been a bartender for years, but I've never had a taste for alcohol personally. The only times I find myself in a liquor store have been as a promotional model or to grab gifts for friends. (Weirdly, even though I don't drink, I'm great at figuring out what a friend might like and have introduced a few friends to their favorites.) I typically gravitate towards larger chain establishments that have a massive inventory of every type of liquor under the sun. I might not drink, but the variety fascinates me as much as the branding does to me as a brand consultant, and larger chains simply have more interesting offerings for me to choose from for gifts. It's a very rare occasion that I find myself in a smaller establishment. *(Letterkenny voice) To be faaair,* MGM is a statewide chain with medium-sized shops throughout the Twin Cities. The stores aren't small per se, just smaller than the liquor megastores I'd infrequently visit. Staying focused on local demographics benefits MGM well. For instance, Minnesota is known for being one of the biggest states for beer-drinking and ranked among the lowest for whiskey consumption. MGM inventory revolves around these localized needs, so bottles aren't likely to collect dust. During my evening visit to this MGM location, I was fascinated to witness exactly how much localized patterns come into play at a smaller liquor store. Amber, specifically, caught my attention as she silently pulled bottles of this or that liquor, mixer, chaser off of the shelves beside the register as soon as a guest entered the establishment, nary a word or even glance exchanged between her and any of those guests before they either went about the store or got straight in line for her pulled bottles. Amber had rung up these regulars so often over the years that she knew their habits by heart. Pair that with her warm, bubbly nature: Automatic five stars. Taylor and Sam were awesome too. I still sip on alcohol maybe twice a year at celebrations. The closest I've come to finding alcohol I actually enjoy is mead. Safe to say, mead doesn't register high on the Minnesotan drinking list - or that of any state, for that matter, so I'll still stick to national chain liquor stores to hunt for unique gifts or maybe one day find something I actually like. Fun fact: The last time I actively looked into mead was 2019, and the entire section of mead bottles at the liquor megastore I visited was covered in dust, for an idea of how popular mead is. All said, I'm happy that MGM Bloomington exists for the neighborhoods it serves. MGM, if you're reading this, treat Amber well - you've got a great representative there.”

“Friendly, but don't get in your face (*I hate it when people bug me unprovoked when I'm trying to shop*). Moderate selection but have just about anything an average person is looking for.”
