I opened this account when I worked there back in 2016. My joint owner has been trying to activate his debit card for a month now with no help - every time we call the automated line to activate it, it tells us we need to call the credit union. When we do, we are on hold for a long time or someone promises to get an actual branch employee to call back and no one ever does. I suspect my joint's contact information is not updated so its not matching, but no one can confirm that nor can I update it online. We moved from the cities to Saint Cloud so its almost impossible to see anyone in branch or talk to a live person without traveling to the 1 out of the 3 branches in the cities without driving for an hour. Now I have to spend my lunch break calling in hoping to get someone to help so we can access our OWN funds.Before we moved, we did go into the Shoreview branch to discuss another debit card issue and no one really knew what was going on. We got a new card ordered and the name on the card is for the beneficiary of the funds instead of the Power of Attorney, so we were unable to use it. I have worked in the credit union field for a long time and it has never been this hard for someone to complete such a simple task. I just called again and was told I will get a call back since no one is available due to the fact that they just opened 10 minutes ago. Will be closing our accounts since our member service experience is not even close to the service we get at any other credit union. Extremely inconvenient and its starting to become apparent that member service is not a priority here.UPDATE - I faxed AND mailed my close account form to them on 12/23/2022 and I noticed that only closed half of my accounts so a week later I had to try to call them again only to be told they will call me back. I checked again a few hours later and my accounts are magically closed now but I AM NOT surprised no one called me back to confirm.

Terrible service I arrive at the bank at 400 after checking online that they were open. When I arrived the door was locked and they now close at 330 so I need to take off work to access my bank … a little counter productive. I am very unhappy because I have no choice but to use this garbage bank due to my union

Tried getting a check sent to me and the girl on the phone sounded unsure and let me know multiple times she has to check with someone else. I don’t blame the poor girl But when the check came it was incorrect and I could not cash it. I just wanted to say that My father has been a member for a long time and I am disappointed in the lack of care of a simple task. Member service is simply not what it used to be

Your branch is closed now in the south metro? First I was told it was because you didn’t have enough staff. Now it’s because someone had COVID. Aren’t you supposed to tell us? I was at your branch. No one was wearing masks or gloves. Now I have to worry about me and my family. You are being negligent. I’m better protected working in the trades. I’m contacting OSHA.

I always have the BEST experience with Building Trades Credit Union. They have been my bank for practically my whole teenage life until now (about 10+ years now). Applying for a loan is easy and stress free. Everyone from the bank tellers to the loan specialists are extremely caring and professional. I look forwarding to many more years with BTCU!

This place is so unprofessional disappointing do not use these people for a loan or any other sort of business, they will not budge or try to help cater to your needs in any way shape or form! DO NOT GO HERE STAY AWAY!!!

I also had a terrible experience with Kristi last summer as well as I live out of state and was trying to get some assistance from her on a money transfer. She called screaming at me, and was the most unprofessional banker I had ever spoke with at MBTFCU. I got a new account locally in CO, and have been treated like a queen.

Kristi (Branch Manager) was rude and unprofessional when trying to problem solve the previous closing of an account. I ended up speaking with the CEO via phone who was much more respectful and answered my questions.
