I had an extremely negative experience here with the "experience manager," Stacy. I had a negative experience with my eyebrow wax service and voiced my concerns while checking out. Stacy said "well, I didn't see your eyebrows when you came in so I can't tell you if (the wax was unsatisfactory)--I think it looks fine! You should go home and stay out of the sun, though. Your eyebrows look really angry!" (They were red, which is a common experience after getting my eyebrows done, and her loud comment on this only made me feel more self conscious.) I tried to calmly explain that the issue wasn't that my skin was irritated, the issue was that half my eyebrows (the entire tail end) was gone. Stacy was rushing me through the check out process and made me feel very bad for even voicing this concern. I am 24 but very baby faced, and Stacy was speaking to me in a way that was belittling and clear that she did not respect me because of my perceived age. She said the only option was to give me a discount on future services "although I probably didn't want to do that since I wasn't satisfied with my brow service." I had explained that the brow artist had offered a brow serum as a way to help the hair grow back but that was out of my budget--and it would take some time for the hair to grow back anyways. Stacy became exacerbated and said in an irritated ton, "well, we can't offer you a refund!" I went home for two hours and was extremely distressed by my experience, partially by my loss of my brows/a good chunk of eyebrow hair when I specified I wanted natural brows and that mine were already shaped. But mostly by Stacy's sheer unprofessional and "mean girl" behavior. I came back with my mother, who Stacy treated with much more respect until she found out she was my mother. I calmly explained to Stacy that I didn't feel right about our earlier interaction and that she had treated me in a belittling manner and I was unsure if that was due to my assumed age. She said she had rushed me before because she "didn't want (me) to make a scene," although she was the only one getting visibly agitated. I was subdued and felt defeated and this was reflected in my manner which was very quiet. She then said, "well, do you want me to just give you a refund then?" While she was refunding my card, she said "hey, you're getting very emotional here. i wasn't being belittling to you! I wanted to make sure no one else saw (me complaining to her)." She used an extremely condescending and stressed tone despite my calm manner, and I told her i was hurt by her behavior and as a result would not be patronizing Blaine Ulta again.She literally said "that's okay!" No effort to make an apology or win me over as a customer. My mom and I were extremely unimpressed, I felt unsafe due to Stacy's combative body language and words, and I have read other reviews from other young women noting that this is an issue for customers who are young or even based on how they are dressed (one reviewer noted she felt Stacy was treating her differently and following her due to wearing a hijab). I believe Stacy, as an "experience manager" is not in an appropriate role as it seems the experiences many have had with her, myself included, are noticeably negative.

This store is like going to Target, I call it the 100 dollar store!! I never walk out empty handed and they always have many product choices and price ranges. It is always a clean store too!

This was my first time at Ulta and Taylor did a fabulous job finding me some fake eyelashes. I asked her if many men use their false eyelashes and she said a few do. I asked for her help in applying these lashes as it was my first time trying them. She was very easy to work with, and made me feel very comfortable and accepted being a male in a woman’s beauty store. I will definitely return and work with Taylor in the future. Thank you so very much for making me feel comfortable and all your help.

I love getting my brows done with Taylor! She does an awesome job, her waxing and shaping is always perfect. She never takes off too much. The brow tint is great too, it is never too dark. I have never got more compliments on my brows before than when I started getting them done with Taylor.

I have shopped Ulta, but this is the first time I tried the brow bar. I love that Taylor made sure I was comfortable with what services I wanted, discussed coloring and brow goals. Did a great job and was pleasant to work with. She is my new go to..

Taylor is incredible, she is the only person who tints my ashy blonde eyebrows the perfect shade without making them super dark and she shapes and trims my brows perfectly when she waxes them! Highly recommend, Taylor is a gem :)
