Everytime we bring our vehicles in, no matter what the problem is, the main mechanic works tirelessly as if he's putting together a puzzle at his kitchen table until he has solved the problem. They treat us like family, and keep our family on the road with confidence.

Only 4 stars because it is next to impossible to find the correct phone number... after googling and calling 4 different places thinking it was them, their affiliate in Elk River was able to schedule an apt. At the Big Lake location.Staff is friendly and they know what they're doing, also their pricing is great!

I like the owner a lot and they are honest. Wait times to get in are long. I was hoping for the small town mechanic feel, didn't really get that in terms of engagement, but nothing really wrong either.Service: Auto maintenance

Big Lake Auto, in Big Lake, MN over charges ALWAYS for everything and sometimes without documentation depending upon the mechanic, which the Service Manager, Haley, currently, should be responsible for documentation/follow-through/follow-driving vehicle upon completion. They do not do their due diligence. Totally liability. Please seek out Neighborhood Mechanic/763-498-1933, Big Lake, MN, Ryan, who used to work for them, who left b/c Big Lake Auto over charged for everything, per his statement.

Big Lake Auto, Big Lake, MN "said" they'd provide heat to our Hyundai Sonata which was the initial issue. They fell through. They did not even provide written documentation on what else it could be or even what it was with further diagnosis, or even provide the old parts. We brought it back a second time to give them them the benefit of the doubt. We then asked for more written documentation which Hayely did not provide, hmmm, I wonder why? Avoid unless you want to pay more without proper documentation. Even Haley, Manager of Big Lake Auto wouldn't provide owner's name or Manager's name, what does that tell you? Do "NOT" waste your time with this business, they over charge, they do not provide documentation to back themselves up. It's in your best interest to "NOT" go through them. You'll get an honest answer from Neighborhood Mechanic, Big Lake, MN.

NOT great! Well...it was great when Jamie was filling in there (from the Elk River location..."Elk River Tire & Auto"). I had an appointment for tire mounting/balancing at Big Lake Automotive and showed up on time. I unloaded my tires/wheels and said I'd be back in a few hours to pick them up. I then received a phone call 5 minutes later saying the tire balancing machine had just malfunctioned (NOT their fault AT ALL!). I was then told they could still mount the tires, just not balance them. I said, "Great, go ahead and mount them...at least I can get the vehicle back on the ground!" (it was stuck on a lift in my shop, waiting for wheels/tires to go back on). I was then told they wouldn't be able to even mount the tires until, "sometime the following week". Huh??? I then asked about going to the Elk River location but was told they were booked out for a week! So...I texted Jamie (who normally works at the Elk River location) and, even though he was on vacation, he took the time to not only reply to me BUT to also call the Elk River location and ask if they could squeeze me in that very same day (I own a small dealership and am a repeat customer). Their response: "No problem, tell him to come right over and we'll take care of him!". So...I went there...and it was EXCELLENT! Kerry (at Elk River Tire and Auto) was AWESOME to deal with...friendly, professional and, most importantly, ACCOMMODATING...unlike the Big Lake Automotive location. Anyway, I won't be going back to BLA, again, but I WILL DEFINITELY be going back to Elk River Tire & Auto...and I will write another, positive review of their business. My feelings are that, if a business isn't willing to at least try to accommodate a repeat customer, when there is an issue they probably aren't the business for you!Service: Tyres

I have been going here for while now and have had nothing but great experiences with them. Always getting me in quickly for appointments as well as being quick and thorough in completing the work. I feel they are an honest shop and not trying to rip you off, which is my number 1 reason to continue coming here.
