βMy review pertains only to the restaurant.
Maybe the best Indian food I've ever had. I had the Navaratan Korma on two occasions. Consistently very good. Serving size is generous. I also had a veggie puff pastry, which was light on veggie content, but very tasty with the pastry shell being super light and flaky.
4-2-2025 Update: Was there again yesterday and had one of the goat dishes. It was super flavorful and the most tender goat I've ever had. My wife had the Butter Chicken which was also very good. It seemed to me that the Butter Chicken sauce was quite similar to the Navaratan Korma sauce.
Things to know:
Their food is spicier than most Indian restaurants. If you want medium spiciness, I suggest asking for mild.
Lunch is served from 11 to 2:30. Dinner begins at 4pm.
Puff pastries and some other items are only available for dinner. I was told puff pastries often sell out within the first hour or two.
They have several Indian beverages and desserts.
The dining area is very functional. It's a place for great food, not ambiance.β
βSaw this little market as we were driving around while waiting for our kids at Kokoro volleyball. Stepped in to see what they have and I was amazed at the meat quality and selection. Not just that, they had a great selection of produce and their deli looked delicious. For a little building with gas pumps, it packs a lot. There's even a small dining area.
They have a good selection of meat snack sticks - My favorite snack to eat while waiting for my volleyball kids. I picked up some of their delicious jalapeno cheese sticks. I will be frequenting this establishment now that I've discovered it.β
βThis location is convenient for me and I usually like the selection of items they stock. There are some fantastic specialty items, but you will pay dearly for them. Recent published price comparisons rank Kowalski's as among the most expensive grocery stores in the Twin Cities. Prices on things I typically purchase can be $1 to $4 higher than the exact same thing at
Target or Walmart.β

βI love Aldi. Literally the same products at a huge discount. The Aldi brand is comparable to any name brand food. Y'all are sleeping on Aldi. The produce is what I mainly buy here. It's so cheap. The herbs are great and also a lot cheaper than anywhere else. They are also organic herbs. Maybe I should gatekeep this gem.β
βStopped in today after bibging 2 seasons of βMoβ on Netflix. I am glad the show pushed me into this GEM of a resourse for stillwater.
I cant wait to explore more flavors ;)β
βThe store is small and convenient. There is a butcher and they do make sandwiches there and seem to have a little bit of everything. Service is always friendly. Prices are a little higher than the big chain stores.β
βI love Aldi for the prices more than anything they have a great variety, but don't always have stock. The generics at Aldi have are pretty good like for instance Cinnamon Toast Crunch, they have their own brand and it's just as good as the expensive brands. They do not carry a variety of soda, so if you have a certain brand in mind you may not find it thereβ
βNot a week goes by where Classic employees aren't going to Brine's for lunch or picking up groceries on their way home from work. Brine's bag lunches are the best deal around and the quality is second to none. When you combine excellent food with top notch customer service, it is easy to see why they have such a loyal following.β
βRiver Market is my go to for just about everything. They have a phenomenal selection of natural healing products, Iβve been able to find so many ingredients I needed there that I canβt get at the big box grocery stores. Even the scent of the store is comforting when you walk in.β
βGood variety. Prices reasonable. But make sure you watch your totals. Almost didn't get the sale price. The check out rang up my order as full price, I had to get the tags for the discount.β
βUndergoing a change to become a local community co-op. I've been shopping there when it was Fresh and Natural for many many years and I will continue to shop there as the co-op. No changes yet but I think there are Pleasant changes to come!β

βCounty market is a great grocery store. They have a huge variety of things to choose from, a huge deli, a great meat department, and a fantastic bakery. My only issue with the store is that they are more expensive then others but sometimes it's worth it. Not a place I shop all the time but when I'm looking for certain things, that's the place to go, such as the best focaccia bread I've had in a store.β

βMany in town were concerned about Dollar General coming to town. For me, it is great! Keeps money in Somerset & gives jobs to local people. Thank you for coming to town!β
βWell, this one kinda speaks for itself. It is Wallmart for goodness sakes. If you have never been to a Wallmart, it is high time you crawl from the rock you have been living under, pull up your spandex panties, and waddle into your nearest store. All joking aside, this is a big box store chain that carries all things needed to live.β
βWalmart is pretty standard. However, this store is cleaner than average. Although slightly more difficult to get help than some stores, it's still a well above average shopping experience.β

βRare for me to go to a higher end market but they had everything I needed for a family reunion that I was responsible for a fruit salad. I managed to also find some fresh food to take with me back to the hotel I was staying at nearby. Clean store pleasant staffβ

βOrdered the 100 piece party pack plus so many sides for a gathering of friends and family. The food was such a hit. Best fried chicken. Just make the spicy fried more spicy!β
βThis is probably one of my favorite Targets to go to on this side of town. It's one of the bigger stores, so they carry a lot of products that you might not find in other stores. However, one of the downsides is this place is almost always BUSY. with the addition of drive-up, the parking lot is a nut house, unless you go very early or very late in the day. There are always a ton of staff too, so that is a big plus if you need any assistance.β
βThere's a decent selection of merchandise. The downside is the prices are on the higher side and just a word of caution on the sales items to check the expiration dates. They do have a very good selection of fruits and vegetables and the sales are decent (if you watch the dates).β
βCome on fellow humans (and extra terrestrials if you are my followers): it is Walmart !!!!! Come expecting a police car and a short American drama, and if it does not happen, you are a winner. Give them the five stars.... Walmart stocks are five stars! First Positive thing about this place: I didn't see any police car outside. Stillwater is classy nice area. The parking was clean. Customers were of all ethnicities and ages. Second thing was that the shelves were spaced enough and the floor was shiny everywhere I went. The roof was kind a low compared to the one in Hastings. Third, I used the self check out and I was surprised to see people with 20 and 30 items wow. Still I didn't have to wait much maybe one minute and it was my turn. No drama at Walmart deserves a 5 stars review. Or it could be it was the day Joe and Kamala won and people were excited the drama, or most of it, is over.β
βI was recently at the Oak Park Heights Walmart and was so impressed that I am taking the time to write about it! I drove past two other Walmarts to go to this one for a specific product that they had in stock according to the website. When I got there, it was not on the shelf. I really needed this item for a friend who was going through a difficult time. One of the guys working in candy checked his phone and saw that it was in the store somewhere but not on the shelves yet. He checked the boxes that came in that day, but nothing. He checked with others around him and then went to a team lead - still no product. When I was by the team lead, two managers looked into it as well. After some searching they found the product in the back room somewhere! This crew went above and beyond for me and I was a bit emotional as I finished my shopping. I also noticed someone always asked if I need help in the other department areas as I continued my shopping. Everyone was so nice, the store was neat and clean, and I now make this my regular shopping stop! Great job Oak Park Heights Walmart - you are doing an awesome job! Shopping at your store makes me happy. :-)β
βThe store was clean, and it appeared to be missing many items in the vitamin, medicine, health & beauty, and sections. This seems to be a common thing at a few stores. There were not a very many registers open that had cashiers. But I was able to get checked out in a timely manner by a human.β
βI am a valley local. (Bayport/Stillwater)
I purposely drive to this location to fill up/grab a soda/snack/lottery scratcher.
They are friendly, accommodating, and they still allow you to fill up, and then pay inside...
Allen (spelling? Sorry Allan?) Was particularly accommodating this morning. He was working alone, but went out of his way to help me when it was very necessary. This was appreciated!
I write these when things are wrong. I also try to recognize when things are correct. Noone/nothing is perfect, but these guys/gals, are trying. That's what really matters, in my opinion.
They will continue to receive my business, exclusively, in the valley, until others start to act this way again.β
