I got a car loan through ANB of MN for a 2004 Toyota. I had a hard time figuring out their app and how to make the first payment. This is my fault and the payment was late. I received a very disappointing voicemail from a manager named PJ. He told me I “might as well find a way to get us (the bank) the car” because, if I miss the next payment (due in a few days) that they will repossess. I totally get company policy, but he was very rude, especially during COVID when people are having hard financial times to begin with. He should have been more understanding about helping me figure out how to navigate the app, etc., but he made it clear that he wanted the money or the car NOW. He left the voicemail AFTER I made the payment so he obviously didn’t look at this before making the call. I have saved the transcript of the voicemail for my records.

I was very happy with the bank for many years but now my account was breached. they accused my wife of opening up a bill pay service account that we have never heard of or used. We don't use bill pay accounts. The account that breached my account set up a bill pay account against me and started drawing money out of my checking account using ACH transformers to a Wells Fargo account then covering it by transferring money from my savings to my checking. Bank is holding me responsible for this breach and refuses to cover my losses even under the FDIC or any other coverage they may have.

These last few weeks have been super busy and stressful and yesterday I noticed an overdraft on my account, which was my fault but it added to the stress of course. Naomi helped me set up a sweep and text alerts to protect my account from myself in the future. Thank you!

Family oriented bank. Each member of the bank you know on a first name basis and, they make it a point to get to know you on a first name basis too. They make you feel welcome like you're part of their family. Ever since I have started banking with American National, over 10 years ago I couldn't imagine banking with any other bank. They always do whatever they can to work with you. Thank you American National Bank for such amazing service and taking great care of my financial needs. Nomnae.
