I had purchased a hitch to be installed a week later. When I showed up at the appointment they told me they didn't have the part and would have to call me when it's arrived. They told me this has happened to them multiple times previously and it's a glitch in the system. Mark did try to call the Bloomington location but they were out as well. He said I couldn't get a discount on the installation because it was a centralized problem, not a problem with his store.I got a call later that afternoon stating my part was here and they could do the install in about an hour the next morning. I show up in the morning and tell Mark that I have to leave in 1 hr 45 to drop off my daughter at school. Mark gets super snippy and starts raising his voice with me, "you can't put me under pressure like that. This is a drop off facility." I told Mark that he was the one who said he could get it done in about an hour, Mark said, "we don't give guarantees." I told him them you should have told me that yesterday when you said it would take about an hour.After he got my Honda Accord into the shop he comes out 5 minutes later and tells me it's going to take a couple of hours because he has to take the bumper off. "This is a special installation. It's not normal." Great. I have to take an Uber back to my place and ask if they can give me a discount for the double hassle of not having the part for the stated appointment time and not being able to finish it when Mark stated he could get it done.Mark was very rude and trying to blame corporate Uhaul while not taking any responsibility for his role in stating it would take about an hour. He said he could get me $60 off, "but no more, we never do this. This is coming out of our pockets. Corporate would have our butts if they knew we were doing this."Ok great. I asked to talk to his manager and Mark goes off, "he ain't gonna get you more money if that's what you want." I stated that I just wanted to talk to him/her and make sure this doesn't happen again to another customer. Since Mark had said this problem happens occasionally. Mark walks away angrily talking under his breathe. Another guy comes, never introduces himself to me and Mark starts to explain his side of the story. Manager Dustin is calmer than Mark and talks Mark down but doesn't seem to understand that what I want is for him to bring this up with his manager and higher ups that this is a recurring issues and highly inconvenient to not have a part on the install day and also to give a time that the work would be completed and not finish it.I ended up taking an Uber home. Got a call later that day it was done but the rudeness of Mark and the lack of care from manager Dustin was horrible customer service.

You say I drove 58 miles but used 6 gallons of gas. You are trying to tell me this truck gets less than 10 miles per gallon?? Research shows a 2024 Chevy Silverado gets 23 miles per gallon. I will never go with UHaul again. Such a scam…lost a future customer today. Congrats.

Needed a truck.. They were on top of that.. Used web site to make reservations.. Picked up and all was perfect.. Michelle was terrific.. Helpful and friendly.. The whole experience was wonderful

There was one lady working there today that was very rude and honked at me a couple times when I put the key in the lock box, I was just following the instructions that were given through mobile return, she honked and yelled at me to leave the key with the truck, after I already put it in the lock box, she could of just came up to me and told me that.

Purchased a hitch mounted cargo carrier. Upon trying to fit into my hitch receptacle, I noticed it didn't fit. Puzzled by this considering it is supposed to fit a 2"x2" hitch. Stopped in to U-haul. Walked into the service garage and met Mark. Mark was in the middle of working on something. I asked if he could take a look at it for any advice. He checked it out, scratching his head as I did before. Then he noticed a slight defect in my hitch receptacle. It was welded together a tad off center to the left. This left a recession on the right and an overlap on the left. Top and bottom were smooth and even. Was asking if I should get a metal file and try to file it down. Probably would've taken a long time with a lot of elbow grease. Mark had an idea of getting his air powered dremel like grinder and grinding the excess weld down. I said go for it. He started grinding out all of the excess weld and stubborn shavings still attached inside the receptacle from the manufacturing process. After that, we were able to slide the attachment into the hitch assembly for a perfect fit. This took about 20 mins. And other staff members came out to see what was going on. On top of that, he went in and came out with some silicone dbc he spread around inside the hitch assembly to prevent rust. Mark did this for no charge, and I am extremely grateful for everything he did as customer service on this level is very hard to find these days. Thank you, Mark, for fantastic work. Thank you, Apple Valley U-Haul, for having Mark on your staff! I definitely will be back.

First and last time using UHaul. My husband passed on 8/12, rented U-Haul on 8/20 for a 9/1 pickup through the online reservation process. Went inside at 7:30 in the morning to ask how to get the truck that had been assigned to me using the app. I already know this is going to be an experience because Mark the clerk was already rudely raising his voice to a customer at the desk that was ahead of me. It’s my turn, maybe this guy needs someone to be nice. My mistake for assuming that. This guy doesn’t care at all about treating people correctly. He looks for my reservation and says, “you’re not getting this truck”. Of course a customer will ask why when they have an assigned truck number and a confirmation in their hand. He tells me, “someone else reserved on 8/15 so you’re not getting this truck” The only professional comment Mark had was to ask if I’d like to speak with a manager and I accepted immediately. Only, I never spoke with a manager. I only get to hear Mark yelling at said manager at the top of his lungs like an insolent child. Yelling and screaming profanities for a good couple minutes. What the heck just happened? But we are not done. Mark then comes back in, looks at another clerk and says. “I’m tired of this s#%^. (Insert manager’s name) can deal with this s#%^” and then he tosses a key at me to the counter in front of me like I’ve done something wrong. I need this truck on this day and take the key. But now no one is helping so my daughter and I walk aimlessly around the lot looking for the truck I am assigned to (we end up walking to back of building not realizing the trucks for the day are up front) and waste more time doing so. Another employee came outside but it wasn’t to help me. No, she was getting away from that Mark who was now back inside the building still being toxic. I demanded his name. She gave the name Mark. Mark was outside also when I dropped the truck off. He didn’t use any good customer service then either. Could have used the time to apologize for his rude toxic and aggressive behavior but he didn’t. He ran inside and sent a woman over. At this point, I don’t trust anyone at this location so I do the checkout on my phone and don’t deal with her either. I will look at bill with a fine tooth comb because if U-Haul can keep an employee like that around customers then I don’t trust U-Haul either. I even let myself calm down for a couple days before posting a review . I mean I’m not going through the best time right now with recently losing my husband so I tried looking through Mark’s eyes. He has NO excuse for acting that way. None. It really bothered him that a manager disagreed with him. I believe the manager should have handled the situation especially after Mark’s aggressive outbursts but instead I get tossed a key, was called profanities (not directly because that would have been different story I promise you) all because what? Mark had a bad day? Mark doesn’t know U-Haul policies? I know this, his behavior was his decision and his alone. You want to take a chance on being treated like you’re in gen population in prison then this is the location for you. Never again for me.

Mark and Michelle were absolutely incredible when helping me deal through some issues. another u-haul location was not only less than helpful but also canceled my reservation after I showed up 4 minutes late. they assisted me with everything I needed and we're super nice.

Uhaul moved my pick up location. Staff disrespectful and unprofessional. Uhaul app doesn't work upon drop off. Live chat on website doesn't work. Each time I rent from uhaul I tell myself never again. Maybe this time I'll finally listen to myself.
