Went to Burnsville Petco today to purchase a few items for my pups. Not sure what was going on with the girl at the register (Nicole) but had to slowly repeat my phone number at least 5 times for her to understand. When we were complete she handed me my items and receipt - no bag - I had to ask for a bag. She seemed put out by me asking. Not the most friendly experience today. Usually they are more friendly.

Had a good experience last time, but this time, my dog's cut wasn't nearly as good, with uneven cuts on my dog's body that weren't cleaned up, like they rushed. I was also told it would take 1 to 1.5 hrs, and it took 2.5 hrs, so I was late for another commitment. To top it off, I was charged $28 additional for the "Holiday Upgrade" package, which at Christmas included extras like sugar cookie pet cologne, paw treatment, and a holiday bandana or bow. I didn't authorize this treatment, but let it go when I noticed it at the register because it was an ok add-on previously. This time, there didn't appear to be anything additional done, and she didn't get a bow or bandana. I'm not sure why I was upcharged then? My daughter picked the dog up while I paid, so I didn't realize this until she brought her out to the car. I'm disappointed for sure. I had even given a nice tip, expecting it would be good results like last time.

They offer curbside pick up, but cancel my order every time. I walk in and the product I wanted to order is in stock each time. What's the point of sending discounts for online orders and then not fulfilling the order?

After paying for my items and walking away I looked at my receipt and noticed that there was a donation of 20.00 on my receipt. I didn’t know anything about it. I went back and asked the guy that rang me up and he said my son did it. I said there was no way that he did that. To please take it off. I have donated many times when asked . I don’t appreciate being deceived and then blaming our son. I just wonder how often the guy is doing that to others.

We followed Tionna to this location because she does an awesome job grooming our Great Pyrenees. Since moving to this location, the phone goes unanswered, it took me 3 weeks of leaving messages to even get someone to call me back. She was apparently booked out a month - great, good for her. I made my appointment for a month out. Of course as life happens I realize about a week prior that there is going to be a small conflict. So I start calling to try to discuss it with her, but as per their usual, no one answers the phone. I left several messages that didn't get returned. Finally day of, I call and call and call grooming....nothing. Then I and ask for customer service - even thought I'd been calling all morning, they were able to get Tionna to answer immediately. They were very rude - I was trying to explain what was happening but this person kept talking over the top of me so I couldn't even speak. Tionna answered in a very rude tone as well. Because it had gotten down to the very last minute, there was nothing we could do to adjust so I could keep the appointment. Maybe that would have been the outcome anyway, but had we connected when I started calling 7 days earlier maybe we could have worked something out. My dog takes 3-4 hrs to groom - that's a huge loss for her day as well. Extremely poor management all around - at the very least answer your phone or return a call. We won't be back.

Enrolled my dog in the "Positive Dog Training" classes for Adult Dog Level 1. I was lucky enough to get Paul D as our trainer. The commands he presented were clear in both word, print out and example which he had us practice several times and not too much in one week so we could really get our dogs solid on the homework. My dog was also having issues being around strange dogs, but with Paul's help during class I think my dog is on the road to a full recovery there as well (from whatever spooked him in his life before I rescued him). Thank you Paul for your understanding and patience. Definitely recommend enrolling in classes with Paul D. Looking forward to more classes taught by him!Judy G.

I have a German Shepard that is in process of becoming a Therapy Dog. TJ is a 2 year old that is curious and playful. Paul DonLevy, Trainer at the Apple Valley Petco did a fantastic job of showing us the steps in harnessing TJ's energy so that he could he could become AKC Certified as a Canine Good Citizen™ (CGC). TJ is now prepared to move to the next step in becoming a Therapy Dog to help brighten some patients lives in nursing homes and hospitals. TJ and I highly recommend Paul DonLevy and Petco for your training needs.

I truly don't understand why there's so many negative reviews... EVERY TIME I've shopped here the staff are very friendly and even offer very valuable information and tips to taking the best care of my dog! Dalton in particular was incredibly friendly and offered me some great advice on training and caring for my dog! I will continue to get all my pet needs from the apple valley petco.

I normally don't write reviews but when I was waking around this Petco the animals don't look like they are taken care of. The Guinea pigs gages look like they haven't been clean in awhile. There is flys in their gages. The ferrets had the same issue. There is poop smeared all over the glass window. There is flys everywhere in their gage. I really hope this location realizes how nasty it is and how sad it is to see their cages like that.

Do not use for medications. They will not give it to you in full and rip you off on costs and refunds. You'll have to pay more out of pocket to get the full amount you need. They will short you on the meds. They will not own up to the issue and make it right.

They are behind their times as far as speedy transactions. No help trying to find certain type of cat food. Their check out system is set up in such a way that you cannot by pass pin number. Never had to use my pin number any where which explains why I forgot it. I was not impressed with employees or manager. They certainly are not trail blazers in my book. Not happy people at all. Went to Petsmart and they were as different as night and day. Very helpful and willingly to do so. The Petco on Aldrich in Burnsville is the one I am talking about. Never in my day have I ran across a business that was so lack lustre. never again.

If I could, I would get this place zero stars. I went in to purchase a hermit crab and they would not tell me one because I was not buying three and buying a 30 gallon tank. ridiculous. And manager Kylee was completely rude and disrespectful and made me feel very belittled. I would never shop here ever again!

This is specifically geared to the grooming. Paid for additional services along with a haircut and bath for my standard poodle but only got half the service. Check your dog before you leave. Lazy is what they are. My dogs ears weren't even cleaned. Full of hair still. Breath bad, she looked nice on the exterior but they did half azz job. Won't ever go back there. They just did the minimum and charged me max price. Wish I didn't tip so well. Even called and was told the groomer would call be back. She didn't.
