Amazing staff! Very compassionate and informative. Took our dog there who had been having multiple seizures for the first time and they got him in as soon as we walked through the doors. Highly recommend.

Update: Cody is currently in surgery to have his leg removed. This place needs to be held responsible for their lack of care. Attorneys should be involved. If you've experienced something similar, please comment on my post. Let's rally and hold Drs accountable. They are the experts and should know better. This place is terrible! My sister brought her dog in for a swollen leg and they did some exams and said he had a torn ACL and didn't even bother to ask other questions. My sister brought her dog to his regular vet and found out he had been bitten and had an infection that needed antibiotics. This place thrives on people's emotions and charges WAY too much! Would not recommend to anyone.UPDATED:This vet knew he had a fever and elevated white blood cell count and still didn't start him on ANYTHING!Negligence

My parents were visiting from out of town with their dog. While they were visiting, their dog started experiencing seizures. We brought him in and they immediately took him and started checking him out. It turns out, he had a tumor on his heart and it was bleeding. They talked us thru their options. My parents decided it would be best to end his suffering. They thoroughly explained the options for his remains, the process of putting him down, and gave us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. They were very sympathetic. I can not recommend them enough, and would recommend them to anyone.

This place is a total rip off. They give the price and options of having your animal treated. In this instance they quoted 641 to have the dog vomit and the bill comes back at $1171. Anything they show you as an estimate is completely false

On December 20th, my 8 year old Springer Spaniel had pneumonia, and took a turn for the worse so I brought him here. After tests & x rays, Dr. David told me his best chance of survival was a $10,000 surgery at the U of M, but did not recommend due to the success rate, his age, and quality of life even if it is successful. Next was to euthanize him then and there. I felt like I was being pressured to do it then and there. I didn't, and went home and talked to our local vet and a family friend who is a vet about other options. After 1 month of antibiotics, which I was told by Dr. David wouldn't work, we got the all clear yesterday. If I had listened to Dr. David, this dog would not be here. Here he is yesterday, finally back in the field doing what he loves.

I called for a non emergency issue at 5am and they told me they could fit me in to take a look at our Rottweilers ear. They gave us a solution and ear drops while leaving. I am very thankful they could see us on such short notice with it not being a real emergency. Will definitely be back if needed! Thank you all.

We brought our golden in because he popped an inhaler in his mouth. They gave us a "menu." $5600 for a 36 hour stay. $3900 for 12 hours. Etc. They said they needed the $3900 down immediately. Needless to say i asked if i could bring him home as i feel he is more comfortable there. The tech said "if you want to chance his life." High pressure much? I brought him home and after a good night sleep he was fine. They prey on your emotions. Be careful

I went over the weekend around 1am, had to say goodbye to my dog of 14 yrs, vet and mostly all staff were pretty understand and courteous, though one specific employee really did not sit right with me and was quite rude. she was working the front desk, blonde hair and older, was inconsiderate from the minute i walked in the door. left her “cheat sheet” for death prices in our room and when i questioned her about it, she chuckled and said “you weren’t supposed to see that”. i then asked her for an itemized receipt for how my total got up to $1,024 for being there for an hour, she then came back with a whole new price on a sticky note and said that’s the new price after taking off my decision of a private cremation which i never asked her take off? i asked for a receipt. which i didn’t receive until she “captured” my payment and she made sure to put a mobile card reader in my face for a signature while sobbing. sobbing in the middle of losing a baby you’ve had since 7 years old and she’s really worried about capturing your payment! can’t do that after the fact!

We could not have been more grateful for the care and courtesy that South Metro Animal Emergency Care showed us when we needed it most. Our cat (nearly 20 years old) Sammy fell ill very quickly on a Saturday morning in December. My wife and I thought this might be the end for him, but we weren't sure, so we brought him to the emergency vet. They confirmed our fears and told us that Sammy was in very poor health. From the Nurse to the Doctor, everyone was kind, patient, and very compassionate. They explained everything, including all options to treat, or not to treat Sammy. In the end, we made the difficult and painful decision to not treat our poor cat, and again the Vet handled everything with grace and care. We wound up getting a nice clay paw print of our guy. While we miss him dearly and think about him every day, we know that the whole situation was made as good as it could be by South Metro Animal Emergency Care. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

On 2nd of January. My 5 pound chihuahua was brought to this hospital for intestinal blockage. She ate a squeaky. By that evening approximately 2 hours after admission. She was in surgery. Recovery was going well. I'm so impressed with this hospital. I was a train wreck. The staff was amazing. Very supportive. Very kind. Really care about your pet. It's expensive. But help in future with pet insurance. This facility gets an AAA++++. THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU ALL ARE WONDERFUL

I brought my 5 month old kitten in because she had been having diarrhea and it looked like her bottom was really raw. The vet, Dr. Novik, told me that she most likely was going to die. She stated this in a matter-of-fact tone and completely lacked any compassion or empathy. I was in shock as I thought my kitten just had a wound and asked a question to which she scolded me for interrupting her. She came in the room maybe once to talk to me. Never came back to discuss test results or go over the discharge. Never asked me if I had any questions. My vet told me her behavior was extremely unprofessional and recommended I inform her supervisor of my experience. My kitten was totally fine and 100% recovered less than 1 week after this. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I have brought many pets here, from family member dogs, my personal dogs and my foster dogs, the staff are always so kind, so patient. Wait times are minimal. Prices are a little steep, but very comparable to other ER/after hours clinics. I do not mind paying a little more for quality care. I would much rather drive the 40 minutes here vs 10 minutes to the "emergency" vet down the road from me.
