So professional, efficient, knowledgable and CARING! ? We needed to use them a few years ago to de-matte our young poodle, and they graciously took her in and we had a wonderful experience. We recently started with them as our regular vet and they are so very helpful. Support staff is wonderful! ?

Very disappointed my dog went in for annual shots and check up . They said his teeth were fine . Next week he started to bleed out his mouth. Brought him back they x Ray . The doctor said he , he could look into to his mouth . Why? Doctor said bring him in on Tuesday but that's my half day but I put him under and checked his teeth and throat.. Well he took out 4 teeth and cleaned up his gums. When we pick him up he had blood on his hair. Didn't even clean him up And there pay scale is all over the place!!

Opted for the laser spay....what a tiny little incision. My girl was a little low for the first two days- by day three she was acting like normal. Have always got good care here. All vets are expensive- so they are not above or below anyone else. I will say this is the ONLY place I could get a quote for the cost of a spay- every other place would not commit a price to me- when people are on a budget it is helpful to know a bare bones price and the cadillac of treatment. This place actually gave a quote! and it was, what it was. I've had emergency care done here as well with my cat a few years ago, Doc took my precious bengal home after an accidental dose of some human medication that was dropped on the floor and not found. He watched him in his home and kept running an iv thru him to flush the medication out. Grateful for the concern about my pet.

IF YOU HAVE A RABBIT DO NOT BRING THEM HERElast year i brought my rabbit ronald to this vet. she had started going into what i thought was gi-stais. obviously i was quite worried because gi-statis is very serious.first they brought her to the back without us and did a “microscope” of her poop (which i seriously doubt they actually did) and told us she had coccidia and set us home with antibiotics.(you don’t need antibiotics for parasites.) she never got better and her uterus about two days later prolapsed and we had to rush her to the fargo emergency vet, and after $1,200 and three failed surgery’s we had to put her down. and at the emergency vet they confirmed she in fact never had coccidia.if they had actually put time into her care and after i did further research they should of at least prescribed something completely different for her gi-statis. how dare they claim they take in small animals like rabbits and not care about their real care. now i am stuck with debt and am still completely heartbroken after all this time. i am completely devastated and disgusted to this day. so please if you love and care for your rabbits NEVER come here.

My one year old cat wasn't acting like himself and started throwing up. I couldn't get him in my regular vet as they were fully booked. I took him to "Urgent Care" at Alexandria's Animal Doctor. They wanted $500 up front which I paid., before they would see him. They took x-rays and called me to pick him up before 4p.m. on Fri. (the same day I took him in) They required another $140+ for his care before I could take him home. (which I paid). They sent him home with Cat-Lax and an antibiotic. We administered both medicines. We found him dead at 5a.m. next day (Sat.). No one explained to us what the x-rays revealed even though we asked. No one explained why he died or explained his condition. We are so very disappointed. We will never feel comfortable taking a pet there again. We were charged over $640.00. He died the next day. No one from Alexandria Animal Doctor reached out to explain anything. They just took our money and our beloved Shadow who was adored by our grandchildren and loved by the entire family died the next day. Sharon HT

I am so grateful for this place! I have hedgehogs and when 1 had an issue, I was relieved that there was someone local who would treat him. All the staff was so kind and helpful.

The care and concern the staff show for the animals and their humans is top-notch. They are knowledgeable and do what's best not what cost the most.

Great Docs and nurses. They treated my dog with love and kindness. They are more affordable than some other places in town with the high price treatment still. I love this place and would definitely recommend it. Our pooch also seems to love it there. Thanks for a great service.

We originally came here because of an emergency with our leopard gecko. They were absolutely amazing and we fell in love with all of the staff instantly (Summit definitely being our fav ?). We were struggling financially at the time and they were willing to work with us and help us figure out the best plan of action that would help our little guy. After that experience, we're deciding to switch vets and make this our new clinic! We definitely recommend them to everyone! The vets are amazing, the techs are amazing, even the other clients are fun to talk to in the lobby!

When we first got our pitbull, she had contracted parvovirus,(at the age she was, she received her first round of shots) I had called around to other vets and no one would even look at her, told us she could wait until the morning. I called the emergency number for the Animal Doctor, explained to Dr. Kraker what my puppy's symptoms were, and he told me, this will be a 200.00 charge for emergency, but please bring her in ASAP. When we arrived at the office, Dr. Kraker was already there waiting for us. We sat down in the lobby and waited. He came and told is what was going on and she would need to stay over night for monitoring, and if we would have waited she would not have made it through the night. We are so grateful he was there to help our sweet Nala. When I call, Jill and the others are so helpful, and nice. Jill has been helping with our animals since my pitbull was a puppy (8 years ago). If you want a vet that deeply cares about your babies as much as you do, I highly recommend The Animal Doctor. We have been very happy with everything at the Animal doctor. I will say their prices are higher than other vets in the area, but you get what you pay for.

Dr. Kraker, Jill, and all his staff have always treated us well and gotten our dogs in quickly whenever an emergency arises. I am so thankful to have them in our community. While some reviews say they are expensive, they always are caring, respectful, quick for emergencies, fast call backs, etc. That is all worth it to me. I don’t believe their prices are much different than other vets in Alexandria (maybe compared to rural vets they are a bit more). We will continue with them as I have never had any problems; from our recent tumor surgery down to basic shots and nail trims.

My little Winnie came in for a spay... I came back to get her later that day. And I feel the vet must have been a little overboard on her shave and they obviously were rough with the clippers. She had lines from where the trash the clippers through on her skin
