I'm relatively new to the Holland/Zeeland area. I was recently in need of new appraisals for a few pieces of jewelry as well as some repairs. I'm very happy with the job they did on the appraisals and will update this review once I have received the repairs. I dealt primarily with Katie and she has been great.

My wife is unable to leave her bed. Her fingers began swelling and her rings were a problem. One phone call to Dekker’s on a Saturday morning and Katie was at our door and cut off the rings! Refused to be paid, gracefully accepted our thanks. Incidentally one of the rings happened to be my wife’s wedding ring purchased from Dekker’s 63 years ago when Gerrit Van Kampen (grandfather of current owner) sold it to us!! Well done “local” merchant.

Went in out of the blue, were treated well, most of the work was done in store immediately as it pertained to watches. Then did a necklace as well as refitting three items set for pickup later. All very friendly and professional ?? We dealt with multiple people as we were having multiple watches worked on and all were very productive. Well done, all around!!

Very dissatisfied with what happened with my girlfriends ring. She has a gold ring with a pearl that needed the pearl glued on again since it came loose with wear. Took it in and they told me 2-3 business days and they would call her when it was done. We hadn’t heard anything for a week so we decided to stop by, we were very understanding that the holiday season can be busy. They told us to give them two more days so we did. After it had been with them for 9 days, they called and said it was ready. My girlfriend went and picked it up and was very upset with how she received it. It was covered in glue that was still tacky like they had done it that morning. The ring was a mess and there was glue all over it where glue had not previously had been. Before we took it in there was absolutely no glue visible. My girlfriend took it back to try and have them clean it up, it still doesn’t look good and has glue all over it. We will ultimately have to take it to another jeweler and see if someone else can clean it better. Very disappointed as this is an expensive and sentimental ring that now looks ruined. This jewelry shop came to us highly recommended and we were sad to not have a good experience.
