I came into the lab today for a breath and blood test and Latese performed the labs. she was AMAZING! so kind and she drew my blood in absolutely no time- im almost always dehydrated so its very hard to find a vein- but she was done in 10 seconds! She kept me informed about what we were doing and talked to me, which may not sound like much but as someone who is in hospital pretty often it was really nice to have someone who just wanted to talk! Thank you Latese!

Bringing patient to wound care clinic, no wheelchairs. Walk to front of Reichert and Front employees, who help people, tell me, they "have very few wheelchairs available anymore and are not obligated to offer wheelchairs because", "This is not an ambulatory facility and washtenaw medical building has none." "Only the main entrance of the hospital has plenty of wheelchairs." Why are these employees telling people this? Why isnt all entrances of Reichert and all specialty centers equipped with plenty of wheelchairs?? Patients come to these facilities , people seeing Clinicians, of course many need wheelchairs! Terrible service and ridiculously incorrect information! How is this not an ambulatory facility??? Do better Reichert!!

This review is specific to St Joseph General Outpatient Surgery 5360 McAuley Dr Ypsilanti MIExcellent staff! Very kind and professional. I was very nervous after bad experiences in healthcare, especially going under anesthesia while pregnant, but all staff with this department were wonderful. Offering warm blankets and explaining procedures thoroughly. Baby is safe. I have the information I need upon discharge and I am very happy with the level of care and professionalism from the staff here.

Worst hospital ever!!! They left my baby in the lobby having an asthma attack!!! When I complained they had "security" come out which laughed in my face about my son's breathing talking about he looks fine (he was stiff as a board..he's probably scared because yall came 4 deep for a woman with sick child) and when I finally just walked out because I knew they wouldn't really help my child (who later told me he was scared to admit his breathing was way off) I told them I was going to children's and they laughed again and said good luck.. Guess what... Within 45 mins of leaving we have arrived and been admitted and they are trying to control his breathing which probably wouldn't have gotten this bad if we had been helped at the first hospital. FYI you might have a child or children but unless they have asthma you can't compare and I wouldn't wish that on anyone

Everything is such a slow process. You should be able to get in and out quickly not a whole day for most procedures.

It's very convenient that this place is not only connected to the main hospital but it also contains its own amenities such as its own Java Joe's and it's own information desk. They have their own COVID checkpoint for this building. There's even a pharmacy/gift shop. A true one stop shop for your doctor appointment, if you want it to be!

On November 1st 2021, our thirty-two-year-old son was found unresponsive within his home by his wife, at approximately 2:30pm. His wife called 911 at 2:45pm, they walked her through chest compressions, when EMS arrived at the scene our son had no pulse and was not breathing. The paramedics worked on him for a length of time from, when they were able to finally obtain a pulse they transported him to Saint Joseph's Mercy Hospital-Ypsilanti.Within the ER doctors ran a battery of tests to try to determine the cause of trauma. It was determined that our son had suffered severe brain hypoxia. All other diagnostic testing came back normal and toxicology showed nothing. All Physicians on this case shared with our family that they were absolutely perplexed as to what had happened to my son. For the next 48 hours he was monitored and Neurology was called to perform a complete Neurological Exam. On November 3, 2021, it was determined that our son had suffered a significant amount of irreversible brain damage. We soon learned that our son was a registered organ donor and Gift of Life Michigan had been notified about our son’s condition. Gift of life met with our family the evening of November 3, 2021 and informed us they had recipients for our son’s kidneys and liver. The process of organ procurement was explained to my family and I. We had expressed to the gift of life representatives on multiple occasions that we had some concerns about organ procurement hindering the ability for a medical examiner to perform a complete and thorough autopsy. Our family needed reassurance that a Forensic Medical Examiner would be notified and given access to all organs and samples prior to following through with organ procurement to obtain a possible cause of death and to rule out unnatural cause of death. The Gift of Life representative stated that in no way would organ procurement hinder the autopsy and that Gift of Life works side by side with the medical examiner at the time of organ procurement so that a complete and thorough autopsy is performed. My family and I stressed how very important we thought it was that a thorough complete autopsy would be done. When going through our son's hospital medical records we came across the documents recorded from Gift of Life’s organ procurement. These documents stated that only our son’s kidneys and Ossium were removed.Nowhere within these documents does it mention his Liver. Also, within these medical records it states that Gift of Life was notified of this case on November 2nd 2021 but no documentation on when a M.E. was notified. Our son's time of death was 8:06 but for some reason the medical examiners form has 8:26 as his time of death.Nobody within this hospital will explain to us why a medical examiner was not contacted until after gift of life went into the O.R. and took organs as well as tissues- the medical examiner also had no admission blood due to the lack of communication within the hospital...so our son's autopsy ended up being severely hindered due to this hospitals lack of communication with the medical examiner and left our family with an undetermined/indeterminate autopsy result. The lies just continue and our family will pursue this matter as far as we can until someone is held reliable for these unethical, careless, and heartless "mistakes".

Unfortunate experience here this morning. I had an appointment and when I showed up to where MyChart s appointment reminder sent me it was closed. I thought maybe they are running behind. I waited until my appointment time with no luck. A security guard randomly comes by and say “oh, you have to go through the ER”. Nobody ever said anything about that to me. When I finally go down the road and through the ER to the MRI check in, the receptionist rolls her eyes at me like it’s my fault I’m now late. I told her what happened and she just says “you’ll have to reschedule”. I said I even tried calling and it was just a machine. She said their protocol is to call the patient 2 days before and tell them to go through the ER. I received no such call. So I drove 45 minutes at 415am to get treated poorly and then 45 minutes home. Also I have to reschedule an MRI it has taken a month to get. I can’t say enough how poor this experience was. MyChart and Saint Joes patient care both need a large overhaul.
