This is usually my go-to Kroger in Ann Arbor, but an experience today is making me reconsider.
I went to the meat department and asked for a pound of cut chicken wings. After handing me the package, the man said “here’s some nice wings to fry.”
I paused, very confused. What made him ASSUME that I was going to fry these wings? My first thought was because I am a black woman, and in his mind, “black people like fried chicken wings.”
I corrected him and told him I was actually planning to bake them in the oven. Offensive comments like this make it hard to want to shop at and support this location. Hopefully a manager sees this comment and speaks with the department.

Wifi services not working and the Meijer App also not working. Unable to use shop and scan feature. This has happened several times in last few months.

Clean, organized, and great service. Just a little too big of a store for me.

Late-night carvers, wide selection, my favorite spot for sushi platters.

I shopped there for thirty years, and long lines was a problem the entire time. They have fair prices, but have been experimenting with sales that aren't sales, and large sizes not being the best deals. The store brand is excellent, but pay attention to labeling to be sure you are getting the variety you think you are selecting, because labeling is so uniform. Dented cans and cut boxes is a big problem. Stock is a problem. If you get there before they stock shelves, you are out of luck, and if you visit too late they've been picked over. If you come in the evening you will not find everything you are looking for. Best time to visit seems to be 10:30 am to about 10:45 am. Nutrition supplements are priced high but are BOGO very often, so never pay full price. Non-grocery item selection is just fair. The value of it used to be that you could buy a toaster and your bagels at 3am, but they are no longer open 24 hours. There's a bus stop right in front of the store, which is very cool. Four stars instead of three because the alternatives are worse.

this particular store has the worst bottle return. I walked in, and every machine was in use by a person who had a full cart full of bottles. as I waited, two machines went down with message "needs assistance ". I picked up the red customer assistance phone in the bottle room, but the call was never picked up by your support desk. If the state requires us to return these bottles for deposit, you need to provide a way for normal families with just a dozen or so bottles to get in and out and that requires systems to notify your staff when a machine goes down.
