This morning I was about to buy my monster like I do every morning and was at the marathon at 44th St. and Schaeffer. The mom and three young kids in front of me were clearly struggling financially and were on a bridge card or welfare whatever you wanna call it. To my surprise and her surprise the store doesn’t even take it. Apparently that store doesn’t want money. Apparently that store doesn’t want my business. Apparently that clerk told her that she know I needed to walk another 3/4 of a mile to the next closest place just to be able to use her card. This should not be an optional service. Someone please explain to me how this is not a prime example of discrimination against socioeconomic conditions. Do not use marathon for anything, except to bring your pop and soda cans back and make them give you money other than that and do not under any circumstances useless business. They are completely garbage!! And for what it’s worth I did give the Mom and three kids a ride down the road so they didn’t have to walk. I am urging everyone who reads this, never do use a marathon -PERIOD-especially the one on 44th and Schaeffer in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Average gas station and convenience store. Kind of old school. I like this store because I can walk in on my way to work and get some drinks, snacks and gas. Most of the stores around here don't let you come into the store after a certain time. This one does, which is nice. If you're driving by there and you need gas and such, it does the job.

Pumps old, stickers hard to read, regular-mid-premium is in REVERSE order than other gas stations. This is basically theft.
