“The owner was extremely nice, and the prices of the Pokemon Booster Packs were extremely reasonable. It looked like they had a good assortment of comics in the shop, but I didn't look at them too closely. I highly recommend visiting the shop!”

“I always enjoy stopping into Baker. I can always count on finding something (usually too many things, haha)! They have a great selection and wide variety of books, fiction and nonfiction. The store is well-organized and clean. The employees are always helpful and usually go out of their way to ask if you’re finding everything alright. I enjoy that they still mail out coupons and a little catalog as well.”

“I used to visit Argos back in the day when we lived in GR, mostly for comic books. When I say 'back in the day'. I mean 1986 - 1989. My go to spots included Argos and Memory Aisle Books - for those GR natives old enough to remember that former used book store. It is wonderful to see that Argos is still open and cruising along. Any person/family who owns, operates, and manages a shop like this truly has their heart invested. I'm sure there's been lots of blood, sweat, and tears (and organizing many stacks of books) along the way. Thanks for keeping this iconic business alive and thriving.”

“I recommend checking this spot out! Very cute and clean shop, nice selection of books (not a huge variety, but they have a lot of popular books for adults and kids), and the customer service was wonderful! Very friendly and helpful in finding the books I was searching for. I'll absolutely be shopping there again.”

“Best store in the area for all things Catholic! My favorite part of the store is their excellent selection of books - from bibles, prayer books, books on the saints, theology, apologetics, the popes, and more!”

“I was in town for a conference so I wanted to check out some of the book stores (Baker naturally), but some of the ones I do not always get to peruse. One of them was Redux (since I think the only times I have really been in Grand Rapids was Monday or Tuesday, this was my first opportunity). They do have a huge selection. Many old books, many of which are in first editions. Naturally, the first editions will be more expensive (no brainer right, as it should be). There were some books which were not quite first edition which I think were a higher priced for a used book store. I went to John Kings all the time when I lived in Detroit. They have a rare section, but I always had an easy time finding multiple books I wanted for extremely reasonably priced. Now also to be fair, I did not look through every section, so perhaps I would have found a lot more at a reasonable price. But for example, one book, had writing in the cover and the cover had significant wear (paperback) and they were asking $10. And it is not rare nor a first edition. Some of the books I think would have benefited to have the prices more clearly marked (a book which had sticker for under $3 was for sell for $15, which, again, your in the business to make profit, but you should have $15 inside your cover if that is the case). I think this is a great store if you have in mind a specific, rare/first edition book you want. You know you are going to have to pay for it (again, as you should for a first edition) but you can get the book you want. This place is perfect for that. And like I said, I would want to come back if I had more time, to look through some more stuff. Just reading a review, there were books in the basement. I am wondering if that is where some of the more, reasonably priced books were, but I would want to go down there and see just to take a look. Give them a look. They do have a ton to look through, even without the basement and again, even if some of it is slightly over priced, a lot of the books are books you will have a hard time finding anywhere else. My biggest recommendation is make the prices more clear in the books. That way I know the price when I pick it up to look at it.”

“I am always enthralled by the sheer size of merchandise available in university's stores. Calvin Campus Store is no exception. It carries a very large collection of branded Calvin University items ranging from fashion, wearable, decorative, gifts, writing materials, and more. Students and other members of the community can easily have access to important goods that may desire.”

“Love this college, wish my kids would have choosen it but a lot of their friends have and they really enjoy the small town feel of it yet it is soo close to Grand Rapids with all of the bigger town things to do. Great Athletic program, beautiful campus and well worth a visit.”

“The staff were very kind and helpful. As soon as I entered, they approached me to offer help finding my books. The purchase went smooth, even with me forgetting my college ID at home. I wish the hours were a bit more extended, so full-time workers from out of town could make it up there without speeding. :)”
