Always appreciate the doctor taking time to really examine my fur baby and explain in detail treatment options. This is a very nice veterinary clinic. I would recommend it.

My cat, Sally had lumps on her chest that turned out to be cancer. The vets at Wixom took good care of her. She had surgery which went well and the follow up was good. All the vets I saw were very good with her and so were the staff. Nice people. My Sally was pretty calm after the first visit and didn't object to the exams, etc. which was a blessing. I've been happy with their veterinary practice. I am adding to this review in 2024 that I am still a client and am very pleased with the service and employees at Wixom. Dr Dyer has been so helpful, really appreciate her. Thank you.

Dr Dyer went above and beyond taking care of my Boxer/Lab. She was able to do surgery immediately when I brought my guy in because he injested several items , including a rope that caused severe damage to his intestines. I will never go anywhere else.5 star review for anyone looking for an excellent vet!

Dr. Dyer is so caring and personable. My cat isn’t the easiest to take to the vet, but with a little medication and expertise on Dr Dyer’s end, we had a wonderful experience. Midori and I are grateful to have Wixom Family Pet Practice as our vet. ?

GO ELSEWHERE!!! See my personal experience below:
I had recently moved and transferred my geriatric cat’s care to Wixom Family Pet practice a few years ago in 2020. Under the care of Dr. Foster, I was very satisfied with the quality of preventative and compassionate care I received for my pet. However, in the winter of 2024, it seems as if the clinic had some staffing issues as both of their two primary Veterinarians left, which they also failed to communicate to me.
When I noticed a change in condition in my cat and notified them, they expressed they were concerned, yet the earliest they could get me in was 6 weeks later. If I was seriously concerned, they recommended I go to an animal ER - but this option would lead to thousands of dollars out of pocket under the care of providers who do not know my pet’s history, thus likely providing less than ideal care for the cost. They were able to move my appointment up by a week or so, but I was still left worrying about the condition of my cat. When I previously noted any acute change in my pets in the past, they were always able to squeeze me in ASAP without any issues, so this was my first concern.
Upon arrival to my eventual appointment, Dr. Dyer had diagnosed my cat with a likely lung tumor causing his symptoms. They did a thoracentesis and provided him oxygen, and then gave him a few medications before sending us home as he seemed more his usual self although his prognosis was poor. Prior to leaving, I was informed he would be fine for the foreseeable future (likely a few more months) and should have time to set up a plan for his end of life care. However within 5 minutes of getting home with my cat, he immediately declined. He fell to his side, his eyes rolled back, and was choking on fluid and then became unresponsive. My husband and I immediately took him to an ER to euthanize him. When this event was communicated to this practice, they did send a lovely card in the mail which we so appreciated. But I wanted some clarification as to why I was reassured of one thing regarding the prognosis of my cat when within an hour of receiving their care he collapsed. I had received a text from the clinic to set up a date and time to just have a requested 10 minute conversation with Dr. Dyer, and never received a call from her on the set date/time. I followed up again two more times and received absolutely no communication back for my requested conversation. This experience has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth about this practice, and I would not advise people to bring their loved fur babies here. I absolutely loved their vet tech team and desk staff, but the terrible communication and lack of urgency in treating my pet after being a patient for several years, left me extremely disappointed.
I have friends and family members who I had referred to here, and they have also had negative experiences (poor availability for appointments due to staffing around the same time as me, not great communication, extended periods of time and appointments to accurately diagnose pet ongoing issues, and most unfortunately, giving the pet owner’s the WRONG medication MULTIPLE times!!! My mom’s cat was coughing up blood after the wrong medication was given to her on two consecutive occasions).
Although I did like the preventative care I received with the previous Veternarian, I will not be returning to this practice and have urged my friends and family members to transfer elsewhere. For being an AAHA certified faculty, this is especially disappointing.

Please do not take your pet there when you need to put them down. They will not let you stay with them, you are in another room. Then they bring you your best friend in a box back to you. . When you should be with them and let them know you are there, not so scared . Never again.

I don’t want to completely throw them under the bus because I couldn’t even get in the door. They are currently not taking any new clientele and it’s listed nowhere on their website or in their automated message when you call them. So, if your pet is having issues, you’ll have to take them elsewhere. Additionally, it seems like they’re willing to take new pets, but only if the owner is within their list of clients they currently have, which doesn’t quite make sense to me. I understand you’re understaffed at the moment, but that cannot be a cop out for everything these days. Especially when you’ll take new pets, just not when associated with new owners. Do consider putting a note on your website or in your automated phone message that communicates that you’re not accepting any new clients at the moment so people worried about their pets well-being do not waste their time trying to get an appointment.

Good service. Knowledgeable. Trained. Very pet friendly. Gentle with dog. Vet and Tech.s had no problem getting on floor with my dog. Worked fast the many services were well organized and applied. They asked good questions made helpful suggestions. My dog Harold a 9 yr old Rat Terrier received an exam better than what I receive. Of course the flow of treats helped with Harold. My dog friends at the West Bloomfield Dog Park recommended Wixom Pet Care and so do I. SAFE, FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGEABLE, TRAINED AND PASSIONATE ABOUT PETS. Harold and I are happy. Our Siamesse Cat, Stanley Straight Arrow, is next on the list for his care. Thank you Wixom Pet Care.
