I went to stay in this hotel for vacation around two weeks ago. The rooms were nice but they reeked of wet towels and there was like dog fur on the floor, but the staff was really nice. Checking in and out was really smooth and easy. The location is quite and peaceful. Easy to find. Lots of places to eat near by.

Me and my husband plus our two dogs stayed here for 2 night since we lost power. It was easy to find right off the highway. Check in was a breeze, room was clean and the kitchen was a nice amenity even though we couldn't use anything but the fridge without buying pots and pans, plates and silverware.However, we checked out this morning and upon me entering the passenger side of our car I realized our car had been keyed sometime between midnight and 9am. My husband went to return the room keys only to find out there are no cameras outside. That's extremely disappointing. Obviously I understand they are not liable for damage or theft, just like every other business, but you'd think that such a nice hotel would have cameras. I've stayed at hotels of all kinds, all of which had cameras for the parking lot.I'd suggest investing in some security cameras for the parking lot if this is the kind of things that happen. There was no reason for my car to recieve damage after 2 days of staying. We will not return to this hotel for the simple fact of I'll never know who or why my car was damaged.Rooms: Our room was very clean.Safety: I did not ever feel unsafe going outside to smoke, however my car was damaged the night before we left and that is very concerning.

This hotel is the hospitality industryś best kept secret. What a fantastic hotel! For just a ¨1 star¨ it blows away any 4-5 star chain hotel I gave ever stayed in, and I have stayed in a lot of them, even the nicer ones that aren´t so nice anymore. The room was super clean and comfortable. Not a stain or cobweb to be found anywhere like in most other hotels. Friendly and courteous staff, and pet-friendly to boot. I can´t say enough great things about My Place! If there is one near you on your travels you must stay in one.

In short, good hotel as far as room, comfort and location. Horrible hotel as far as management and customer service. STAY AT YOUT OWN RISK.If you stay here, be prepared to be charged a $300 "smoking" fee days after you check out. If you choose to question or dispute the charge with the onsite manager you will be told that it is policy and they will not refund you, regardless if you actually smoked or not. That's the summary, here's more of my story:We had an emergency trip to the area recently and stayed 2 nights at My Place, Novi MI. We were a walk-in because we were at the nearby Ascension Providence Hospital and it was easier to walk-in than do an online reservation. Check-in was normal and we pre-payed our room for the 2 nights we would be there. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We went to our room to drop off bags before heading back to the hospital. On the way out I mentioned to the front desk clerk that the room smelled somewhat musty, almost smoky smell. I was advised to turn the AC to a lower temp which would help with the smell. It made sense to me, as it would help remove the moisture while cooling, so we did that. But, we couldn't tolerate the lower AC temps for long and by evening we readjusted the AC to normal temp, and noticed the smell returning. Since it was a short stay, we just dealt with it.Check-out 2 days later was uneventful. We stopped at the front desk, left our key cards and were on our way.4 Days AFTER our check out, I have an additional $300 charge from the hotel on my card. When I called to find out why, I was transferred to Jeff, who I'm told is the manager. I explain things to Jeff as clearly as possible and am told the $300 charge is for smoking in the room. I explain to Jeff repeatedly we did not smoke in the room, I also mention the smell we had on check-in. Jeff tells me something along the lines of (paraphrased) "I guess I can look in to it but I don't think we can give you a refund." Thinking optimistically, I ask how long I should allow for him to look in to it and give me a call back. Jeff thinks he should be able to call and let me know something within a day or 2. After waiting 7 days for the call from Jeff, I call the hotel again and re-explain the situation to the (different) front desk clerk. While she was nice enough, the only thing she could tell me is the $300 charge was for smoking in the room. Of course I already knew the allegation and told her so and asked what I needed to do to clear this up to which I was told she could do nothing all she could tell me is I was charged $300 for smoking. I asked to leave a message for Jeff for a possible call back, and that's about as far as we've gotten.So there you have it, My Place Hotel, Novi MI fraudulently charges guests for something that guest is not at fault for. Nice. I think that's called stealing? I hope whatever corporate managing body this franchise has is made aware of this shady practice. With no follow-up from the manager, Jeff, and front desk clerks who "can't do anything about it", I guess my next step is to find a way to reach out to them.

Clean. Friendly staff. More bang for your buck. Stove, big refrigerator makes ice, microwave, sink with garbage disposal, comfortable bed, felt just like home!Nearby activities: Close to shopping.

For a chain I had never heard of before booking, this place was great. Clean, bright (they actually had overhead lights), a kitchen, and plenty of space in the living and bathrooms. Will definitely come back here when I have the need for a hotel again.

Clean room and bed! That's really all I care about. The room was tidy and the bathroom was spotless. The staff was very friendly too. I wish this place had a breakfast buffet though.

I booked a room with a queen sized bed. The room I was given had a full sized bed. I measured it and have pictures. 75 in. x 54 in. A full sized bed. However, Laura the manager, was very rude and unprofessional. She said the hotel only has queen sized beds and she is "not a bed person". Apparently being aware of the misrepresentation of the amenities of her hotel is outside her scope of duties. So expect poor service in addition to being lied to about the bed sizes. Try another hotel that won't swindle you out of your money.

I wish I could give a 0 rating for this place. We wanted a queen or king bed but ended up with a single bed for two people. When we asked for a different room with a larger bed we were told they didn't have anything else. We told the lady at the desk that we wanted a refund and she refused to give us any refund and threatened to call the police. We cancelled payment thru our credit card company and stayed next door at the Hampton. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE IDIOTS!

This company has extremely crooked policies. They charged me twice for a room and have refused to pay me back. I now have a lawyer involved and have to spends tons of time and money just to receive a refund. Steer very clear of this place I would hate for the same thing to happen to you.

I had been in this hotel multiple weeks for work and had it booked threw a weekend and went a hour north for one of the nights to visit family. When I came back the next day they had went in my room that was currenly still booked in my name and threw away all my food and all the clothes I left behind plus some personal items. The manager tried to compensate me by giving me a free 6$ sandwich blows my mind people still operate like this. And to top it off they fraudulently charged me 300$ for smoking in a room witch I did not obviously the hotel dose not care about your experience only your money. I would neve recommend anyone to go there.

Everything was clean and the room was spacious. The people were friendly. The only thing negative was no safety grab bars in the bathtub and there was no free breakfast. We would stay there again tho.
