The VASA is an amazing trail for hiking, biking, and skiing. This is truly one of the best features of Grand Traverse.Parking: The parking where I pulled in was gravel with some washed-out spots to avoid. Bonus, there were bathrooms!

We came for some cross country skiing. The trails were groomed and well marked. They had 2 tracks for traditional skiing and room for skate skiing. The woods are beautiful. The trails go a bit up and down. They have several loops, including a 25k one.

Nicely groomed trail with great maintenance and friendly people, there's also a nice heated lodge with clean restrooms and a bike workstation. The vasa bike park is also at the beginning of the trail with a few different jump lines and berms. If you like jumping your bike and live near traverse city I recommend you check it out.

The best Nordic ski trail system anywhere in Lower Michigan. The downhill ski resorts groom during the day, and the snow doesn't set up as well. The wonderful Vasa crew grooms at 3A.M., making all the difference.Forbush has better grooming and more snow, but the raw acerage of Vasa and design of the trails is the best. After all, who else has one loop 25k long?

Decent trails. A lot of sand. Not the greatest signage. But, it is close to TC, and I was Alcott to mountain bikes for hours without seeing many other riders. I like this trailhead much better than the ones to the south. It seemed less crowded.

Tart trails, it's my tradition to participate in this 5k (tails to trails), so I can see all the doggies. I like the hills here, you get to the top just in time. 5k doesn't feel impossible. There were more trees before the super storm in 2015, but don't worry you can still get your *forest bathing* on here. It's a therapeutic thing, it exists, I swear. Please pick up after yourself and doggos to preserve this lovely spot. Hooray exercise and endorphins, go get happy, or something...If you're a biker, hope you like to eat sand, lol.
