From the extremely helpful receptionist, to Ryan who did the actual survey of my property, this company is the best. It became readily apparent, they place their customer's first. I highly recommended them.

I too have family who had property disputes since the new ownership (On Pine Hill and North St). It could be possible it was due to the past ownership doing surveys incorrectly.. but the fact the problem exists and this company sometimes denies any differences or just says it's not our issue, were doing it correctly now.. Makes me rate this only two stars for bad customer service skills and poor management. As a business owner, whenever I see a problem, I see opportunity..The LEAST they could do is acknowledge customers when they bring up the documented discrepancies. Even better, inform incoming customers that there are differences in today's surveys than when the houses in some areas were first built...And if you guys want to go above expectations, find a lawyer and find out the laws for this area are so you can give your customers information or direction on what to do if they run into any property disputes over this. You are going to be the first company/person people are going to turn to when they notice these differences.

Since new ownership, property lines are seriously misplaced through town (going through neighbors driveways and roads). When you ask why after 15+ years they've all of a sudden changed, their answer is "the past surveys were done by people who didn't know what they were doing." Now multiple people in town are having to pay additional money to fight for their own driveways, yard, houses.. so much financial loss, headaches, disputes are coming since the change in ownership. adverse possession holds up well in court if anyone is fighting to keep their driveways or anything that used to be considered their land.. Daniel Olsen from Norton shores is a good lawyer for this mess if anyone needs one (any side).Edit/reply-In response to the companies reply to this.. If you read correctly, I didn't say you changed the way you survey or that you're doing it wrong. I stated the difference between you and the old and how property lines are now different (as seen on legal paperwork, not landmarks) This has been brought up to the city on different occasions, but the resolution isn't a simple matter or one that anyone is pursuing for the whole city.. because it's a big mess. Anyone w issues are currently having to fight property lines in court against their neighbors independently..

The complaint about moving property lines in town is not accurate. We have not changed our survey practices in the last few years. We base our survey methods on the Bureau of Land Management instructions for professional surveying in Michigan. Typically these type of complaints are made when people don't understand the difference between a true survey point, and another object, such as a fence, post, power pole, mow line, etc.Owner, Newaygo Engineering and Survey, Inc.
