This location is nice if you have things to donate. I donate any pet-related items I have inside. They accept blankets as well. For other donation items, there are 3 drop bins at the beginning of the parking lot.

What a wonderful experience we had at the Westland Humane Society 2 weeks ago. Upon entering, we found a spacious and clean reception area where we were greeted by cheerful people who were eager to assist. They allowed us to walk around and meet all the precious dogs and then Abby, a total rock star, introduced us to "Trick Or Treat." He was the happiest puppy with such a shiny coat. It was clear he had been well cared for and socialized. Abby relayed all the pertinent information about the little guy, and we felt he was the perfect fit for our home. The adoption process went smoothly. Abby was incredibly supportive and gave us lots of tips to ensure the best possible transition period as Trick Or Treat, now Maurice, began his new life with us. Thank you, Abby! Maurice has been with us for 2 weeks, which makes him 4 months old. He's acclimated wonderfully and is developing strong bonds with us and his 4 cat siblings. He's learned to sit, shake, and come to us on command and is eagerly learning to walk well on a leash. It's evident to us that he was loved in the Humane Society as he was both physically and emotionally strong enough to make his move a complete success. We absolutely love him. Thank you for facilitating a top-notch experience and for helping to make our family complete.

Found a stray blind elder dog and brought him here. They welcomed that baby with loving open arms. I knew and the dog knew he was safe because he or she immediately calmed down. The staff was warm and friendly. Thank you guys for being beautiful humans.

Took our dog there for vet services, vaccinations etc. It was clean and the staff was very kind. We used to go to Michigan Humane in Howell which closed, so now we will be using this one in Westland.

Not very humane. Tells me I can't bring pets from other cities but accepting pets from Dearborn heights and Canton. But not Inkster a neighboring city to Dearborn heights because of the way Inkster is run. This is bull, keep looking if u are surrendering. This place would rather an animal die than be taken care of.

I called about a specific cat earlier in the day that my husband and I thought would be a good buddy for our cat at home and the girl I spoke to lied to me. We live over an hour away and I emphasized that to the girl over the phone, I told her about my cat at home and how we wanted a companion for him, and we only wanted to make the drive if the cat is friendly and is good with other cats. She assured me that there is a 60 day return policy on cats in case something doesn’t work out, so we made the drive over only to find out in person that the cat I specifically called about earlier that day, was already returned by another family who adopted her previously due to not being friendly with other cats. If I was told over the phone that she was not friendly with other cats, I would not have wasted over 2 hours of my day driving over there.

Customer service is garbage. They don’t answer the phone cut you off after 15 minutes. I called three times so I wasted 45 minutes of my life waiting for these clowns to answer the phone and they never did.
