Great, family ran place. Been shopping here for gardening needs since the 90's when my mom would take me. Now I bring my family here almost every year to purchase our Christmas tree. Trees are always healthy and hold their needles until well after Christmas.

My first visit and I was not disappointed. Someone took me and my niece through the site, suggested plant food for our selection and then took us into the butterfly habitat. Amazing!

Baron’s is such a cool place. From the wide variety of plants, butterfly house, koi ponds, and little cat friends walking around, you’re guaranteed to find something to make you happy. Even if they’re absolutely busy, the wife (owner) and husband will point you in the right direction of what you’re looking for. Don’t expect an hour long conversation, though. They’re usually very busy running the place and tackling multiple things at once. There’s a reason they’ve been around for so long! Overall, it’s a lovely green house with knowledgeable staff and something for everyone. Do yourself a favor and make a visit.

I like this nursery. It is big enough to find what you need. It is has fair prices (usually not the cheapest, but by far from the highest). Now the staff is hit or miss. Sometimes I get an awesome person that will help you and sometimes well it is very frustrating on the responses to simple questions such as can you point me in the direction of.... and they respond with I don't know or it is over in this area and points to a large area. I have found unique yard art at this business and the plants that I have purchased (I have only purchased smaller plants) have done very well.If you are in need of plants or yard art, make sure you check this out.

Barsons usually offers unique annuals and perennials unlike the big box stores, including native plants. I also recommend checking out their ornaments, fertilizers, pots, seeds, and especially the butterfly house. Sometimes they'll offer more deciduous shrubs or small trees like weeping Japanese maples too. We're fortunate to still have these family run plant nurseries that continue to offer such healthy annuals and perennials. Great work Barsons!

They really do have more space than they appear from the road! They have a very good selection of vegetable starts and their flower section seems very expansive as well.

My second time here. I like it here. Its very busy during business hours. I like the fact that they have people to help you find a parking space because the lot is small. They have 20% off perrenials now at the start of the season. They have a lot to choose from. Some plants are a little pricey compared to home depot or lowes. They also have a pond with some big beautiful fish and turtles to enjoy.

Its a great place. Every low key. I see it. But never try to buy there. But yesterday was perfect. I was able to get my mother some rose plants. So it was all good. Have great selection on plants.

Love this place. Good selection of flowers, veggies, and herbs along with topsoils and fertilizers. Good little neighborhood garden shop. Nice butterfly house too!

Despite the good reviews, the owner of this business is very unprofessional. I mistakenly entered the parking lot of this business using a driveway off the side street according to my GPS. There was no sign stating do not enter or one way. It was impossible to turn the corner at the end of the first lane because a car was blocking that corner. The owner threatened to call the police on me because I refused to let him drive my brand new $60,000 car. If he prohibited parking in the spot on the corner he could easily allow two way traffic for ingress and egress for his parking lot. He was impatient and demanding that I hurry up and get out of the parking lot when my large Pacifica could not make the turn. The last time I observed an older female listen to a similar impatient man demanding she drive according to his directions, she drove her car into the well of the oil change place on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe. The business was closed for a month and she sued him for over $10,000.00. I never listen to men who tell me how to drive. As a result, I have never been in an accident in over 54 years.

Perennial flowers are excellent quality. Photo shows the Monarch butterflies on Echinicias, and how tall their Canna Lillies get.

Barson's is currently closed for the season, but will reopen on March 1st.They have the biggest selection of plants in the area, without driving all the way to Canton Township.I like the fact that they have gone 98% pesticide free. I have done the same with my house plants and generally use Nematodes to kill all the weird pests (and peroxide to kill the rest). They have been around forever, I remember going there as a little kid. You can never forget that "greenhouse smell" that hits you the moment you first walk in.Some of the plants I have from Barson's are over 30 years old.Pretty amazing if you think about it.
