Dr. Chambers at Stony Creek Veterinary Hospital and her very kind staff have been truly AMAZING! My 2 year old Beagle mix was diagnosed in August with Humangiosarcoma. I was faced with some extremely difficult decisions because the oncologist told me she was incurable. Well I couldn't live with that. I reached out to every place I could in a short amount of time, including University of Michigan and Michigan State University for help!
I felt helpless and lost and quite frankly, angry. No one wanted to help my 2 year old with a very rare form of Humangiosarcoma. I was so disgusted in the amount of money the oncologists wanted I couldn't get past it. I started to email with my vet, Dr. Chambers from Stony Creek Veterinary Hospital in Washington Twp., MI. I never expected her to respond, thinking she was tremendously busy. Well not only did she respond, she became my rock and my support through this crisis. She was just as disappointed as I was in the oncology prices. My sweet girl could be saved and others could learn from her terrible disease. Dr. Chambers and I talked over the options and we decided to amputate. It's been a week since her surgery and I feel awful, but I just know she will be in a better place. We had to test a lymph node and we are praying it isn't positive for the cancer. Her prognosis is unknown right now, which is so scary, but I will forever be grateful to Dr. Chambers for helping my sweet girl. I truly would not be functioning if it weren't for Dr. Chambers generous heart and brilliant mind. She is one of those rare gems. I couldn't be more grateful and more impressed with her and her staff. They have treated Ghost with so much love and kindness. It has been an absolute blessing that Dr. Chambers and her staff have come into our lives. I can't THANK YOU ALL enough! Ghost thanks you for loving her and for giving her a chance for a quality and hapay life.
From our family to yours, thank you!

I am unimpressed with the service here at Stoney Creek. I've only been here a couple of times. I brought my poodle to this Vet based upon reviews. However, I have had better service from the front office to the actual visit with the doctor elsewhere. There was at least one person that exercised great customer service and compassion, but I had no direct interactions with her. The follow-up from the labs was even a bit concerning. I was basically told that my poodle "most likely" has advanced stages of kidney and liver disease and that we are somewhat at a ceossroad... Huh? I stopped the doctor and told her that I was confused with the conversation and needed to start over. I explained that I don't like speaking in hypotheticals, which is what we had been doing up to that point. For goodness sake, she asked did we want to just keep my fur baby comfortable, or? Again, we had not gotten a definite diagnosis at this point. She went on to say, "I'm not sure how far you are willing to go with this..." If I am not willing to go to the end with my fur baby, I wouldn't even have brought her in to be looked at. Where is the compassion? Our animals are apart of our families. Be a little more empathetic when dealing with your patients and families. This goes from the front desk forward.

This place is not for us. First experience was meh when the vet came in and was surprised/scared by the size of my dog. A smaller Dane mix 135lbs. It was obviously stated on paper work plus had her weight. We found out our dog had cancer come back and put him down in a couple weeks, when I call to set up app find out that on top of the $500 visit for x rays and blood work it's another $55 office visit plus the $200+ to put him down. Just seems like they buckle and dime you, even in the worst of times. I'll give up on convenance and go to a vet that suits our family's needs and budget.

Love this vet office! They're so nice! My 14 year old bichon was super sick with a weird severe full body itching and stomach thing and they were able to fit us in on short notice, prescribed some meds, and called me to follow up and make sure she was feeling better the next couple of days. Still kind of a mystery what she was sick with, but she's finally better. I was afraid I was going to lose her when she was in the middle of it because she's older and has med allergies they had to work around. But thankfully they got her healthy and back to normal.

Dr. McLeod is an amazing veterinarian and genuinely cares about our pets. She's kind, realistic, takes the time to explain things, and loves every animal she comes in contact with:

I'm shocked this place is ranked so highly. We took the cat for an annual and to get bloodwork because he needed a teeth clean. They cleared him for surgery and two weeks later we brought him back as scheduled. They held him all day saying he had an underlying condition of hypertension and wouldn't do surgery. This "underlying condition" was not caught at his check up nor before they cleared him and we were told "Dr. Lyons didn't see it". They then charged us $110 for holding him all day. Will not be going back.

You wouldn't know it but it's the nicest Vet that I've been to. They get me in fast, take care of businesses and seem to love my animals like their own. I have friends who drive over an hour for this veterinarian. Also a hidden gem for emergencies. Only tell close friends about this place because it's kind of a secret I'm telling you.
