I very highly recommend Craters & Freighters - Detroit for shipping larger items like fine furniture. We had a teak dining table and 8 chairs (total weight of 420 pounds) that we needed to ship from Lansing, MI to Scottsdale, AZ. We initially tried to find a "less-than-full-load" moving company provider that could add our items to a load. No luck. We then checked with a package shipper. They advised us that they couldn't handle the items, but suggested we contact Craters & Freighters. We found that Craters & Freighters had offices in many locations throughout the USA. We contacted the Detroit location and spoke with Sandy. She was very helpful and professional in working with us to arrange the shipment. (We found that the rate was reasonable and comparable to the rates if we had found an acceptable "less-than-full-load" moving company.) When the shipment arrived, we were blown away by the quality of the packing. The shipment was contained in 3 large crates. The furniture was very carefully packed/padded to prevent damage. Once we unpacked the items, we found to our great satisfaction that they had made the long trip without incurring any damage. The end-point shipper contracted by Craters & Freighters - Detroit was XPO We were also very pleased with the quality of their delivery service. Dave, the driver for XPO commented to us that in his experience, Craters & Freighters provided exceptional service - noting that many of the art dealers in town frequently used them for packing and shipping artwork to and from their galleries. If you need this kind of special packing and shipping service, you cannot go wrong working with Craters & Freighters serving your community.

We had a unique need for a crate and spoke with a few companies. From the beginning, the team at Craters & Freighters were very professional and great to work with. Not only did they come through with an incredible final product, but they suggested design-improvement ideas to keep our product safer which other companies didn't even consider.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Craters & Freighters Detroit. Sandy was AMAZING to work with and made a very stressful time in our lives, much easier. Our mom had died, and we had to close down her apartment quickly and move artwork, boxes and furniture to California. The men who came to the apartment were courteous and careful. The pricing was very reasonable. We were able to track our shipment all the way to California. My brother and nephew were contacted as soon as it was there and it was delivered when they were told it would be there. Anything fragile had been double boxed, the artwork was put into crates and everything was handled with extreme care. It's nice to know that our mom's possessions are now safely in California with her son and grandson. Can't thank them enough! I highly recommend this company.

I highly recommend Craters and Freighter Detroit for the No#1 service that everyone is always seeking. I recently selected this company to ship an antique baptismal font from Michigan and destined for installation at The Old Adobe Mission in Scottsdale, Arizona. First, everything happened as scheduled from pickup, crating, shipment to delivery. Secondly, their sales department (especially a gal by the name of Sandy) was a sheer pleasure to communicate with. My concerns over the shipment of a 100 year old antique were quickly removed when I started to uncrate the shipment and saw the delicate packing technique used in handling such an object. It took me two days to dismantle the crate ... but who cares. Great job Craters & Freighters, thank you.
