This place is nasty. People outside doing drugs in their car and not only. The hallway smells like marujana. The room wasn’t even clean, the bed was poorly made and the bedsheets had some weird stain, blood I guess and they had a weird smell, like cigarettes. The shower had human hair and the couch animal hair. The people at the front are gentle though Save your money and go somewhere else !

I gave it another chance..(2019).. So, I booked the room for 2 nights. (I like the kitchenette). I asked for the "3rd floor".... for a little more peace and quiet. (From kids running up the hallway, didn't help) The room was nice, peaceful.... Until I got up in middle of the night and saw, ants on the bathroom floor. Heather did offer me a new room. But I had already was settled in (unpacked All of my food, clothes hung up and even my dinner was done)...So the next day, I ran out of tissue. I had to go to the front desk and get another roll. It's been almost 2 weeks and I have not heard from anyone, for a compensation not even an apology.

The building overall is out dated and old. You get a dusty feeling when you enter the building. Also, the box spring on my bed was old and nasty. While the room was clean, it was old and had a dusty feeling. The carpet made my feet itch, and I would wear socks. The carpet in the room needs to be cleaned, and it had many older stains on it which also made for a uneasy staying experience. The walls were thin, and you could hear people in all the other rooms around you, and it was hard for me to sleep and enjoy myself. For these reasons, I checked out early and went to another establishment. I think the ratings for this location is not true; this hotel should be rated as a strong 3.6-star hotel or less.

It was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a hotel. The front desk person Samantha or Sam, as she said, was very energetic and bubbly. Knew the hotel and explained everything very well made it feel a little like home.

Don't stay this hotel they stole my debit card from my face 7 days longer than I stayed and they didn't give me anything back they work very badly I already contacted my bank and filed a claim the receipt they gave me is just of taxis, not of the days, they altered my days and gave me more than what I had left. The very kind lady told me to use without proof, she cannot refund me the refund when she told me before leaving that the next day I would be refunded. money they are scammers don't put their card there

This is a one star hotel at best. When you walked into this hotel had a bad odor that was not pleasant. My room looked like a party was held in yesterday. Clean but fridge and stove and everything was dented and questionable at best. The gym, laundry, kitchen was one big room. Nice if you are looking to workout, wash clothes and buy some pop tarts for breakfast because there nothing served for breakfast here like a normal three star hotel. Do not trust these fake reviews. FYI bring money for parking they charge you. Even though there is all kinds parking place is a JOKE

I visited Detroit for a few days and wanted to be in an area close to the Ford plant. After searching several hotels in the area, I found Sonesta and decided to give it a shot. When I first got to the grounds I was impressed with the building and the grounds. Everything outside was very clean, well-painted, and quiet. The staff was very welcoming even though I was checking in early.I was even more impressed when I got to my room. My stay was comfortable and welcoming. I will book this hotel in the future.Rooms: My room was clean and ready when I checked in early. The room had a kitchenette, an office space, a living area, and the bedroom walled off. Almost like a suite with enough space to work and relax.Safety: Very secure with room card required for entry after a certain time at nights for all entrance areas. The hotel is located close to others and the grounds were well lit.Food & drinks: There is no breakfast but the room has the facilities to cook if you want and there is complimentary coffee. I picked up a few items at a close by Walmart. There is also a mini-store at the hotel where you can get typical microwave food and drinks at a very good price.Noteworthy details: I was impressed with the grounds, the room, and the customer service. For the price, I couldn't asked for more. The hotel is located close to a lot of major chain restaurants and shopping.

Many thanks to Selena, Robin, Elaine, Heather, Samantha, Brad and the entire staff of housekeepers for making my extended stay so comfortable. This hotel sets a standard that other hotels should strive to achieve. A definite go to place for extended stay. My many thanks!

This hotel is disgusting run down and nasty. It’s people outside doing drugs. The hotel carpet and beds look like they haven’t been washed in years. The staff looks like their on drugs. I seen bugs in the room and the bathroom. The hotel smells bad and I started to itch when I come in. Definitely don’t take your kids here. The manager could barely hold a conversation very ghetto and upset that we did not want to stay in the filthy mess.Rooms: Gross. Unclean. Bugs. Nasty. Unsafe environmentSafety: People in the parking lot doing drugs. Blasting music on thier phones.

It's about 20 minutes to downtown and the museum but it's safe and very clean. Would recommend Sonesta. No breakfast but they have a small store.

Great place to stay! ”My job requires I spend 60-90 days a year on the road and in Hotels. In this area, this is by far the best and most comfortable hotel under $100. The suites are spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything from plates, silverware and cookware to paper towels and dishwasher detergent. It is quiet, safe and comfortable. Equally impressive is the phenomenal staff, especially "Sam", she and everyone at the front desk couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming.31 Oct 2023

I was on the hunt for a place to stay where we weren't crammed into a room with a bed. Simply Suites provides such a cool living space for even a short period. You can make your own meals or venture out to a number of nearby venues. Located on Van Dyke near just about anything you could want to do. The units themselves are very quiet, they were clean, the bed was super comfy and the unit was well equipped. The girls at the desk were SO helpful, so friendly and made us feel very welcome. They have a small self-service kitchen with some products available, washers and dryers and even a lend library. I am very impressed with this location and their services. I will definitely stay there again when I go back to visit my family.Rooms: The rooms were great. They aren't "rooms" they are true suites. I had read that someone complained because the carpets were not new - big deal you walk on them. When you get into the room you are in your own little world with a sofa, a recliner, stove, refrigerator, dish washer - its better equipped than my house!Nearby activities: I know that we spent about 3 minutes driving before we found stores to roam, a bowling alley, and you are not that far from the lake shore if you use your GPS to find the way through construction. I think we went through 11 towns/suburbs in one morning just because we could and there was so much to see and do.Safety: The doors are locked and you have to have a key to get in. There are deadbolts and block locks on the doors. The windows are openable but have safety locks on them. It was really quite well equipped.Walkability: They are located in a cul-de-sac with other motels but they are back in the corner and are close enough to Malone's, McDonald's, a Mexican restaurant, and three or four other food places within a 5 minute walk.

I stayed here in August for 3 weeks. About a month later my company I work for said they charged me $150 for smoking in the room. This is a complete utter lie.The whole hotel smells like weed. When I complained about it they just brushed it off and didn't address the problem. They sell food left behind from guests in their little shop. I'm pretty sure this is illegal. They have a bee problem outside and I was stung twice outside. For about 10 days during my stay I complained that the guests above me were stomping and running around all hours of the night. Their policy states that guests who make to much noise will be kicked out. Guests were never talked to and I asked to move rooms and they did not accommodate.I wrote them last week on their website to remove the $150 charge. Their site says they respond within 48 hrs. No one has contacted me with my concerns.Do not stay here, save your money and stay somewhere else.
