I do not have an account here. However, I do have a credit union and I use Zeal for making deposits and withdrawals. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to use the ATM machine, it is always down. Literally, every time. I have seen people servicing it multiple times and still clearly nothing has been resolved to where people can actually use the ATM. This is very inconvenient since it is less than a mile from my home and I now have to drive twice if not three times as far just to make a deposit or a withdrawal. Please get this issue fixed. This is not just an issue for me but my entire family uses this credit union for the same purposes.

I only do loans through Zeal, I do not have a bank account with them. I have never had to paid their $10 fee to make a payment (in almost 10 years). Now all of a sudden I have to pay it. Why should I have to pay an additional $120 a year to pay on a loan that they are making interest on?!?!? The last time I spoke with an agent (Nov 2023) she was rude and basically gaslighted me say I have always had to pay.This is the last time I will deal with Zeal C. U.

Remember when they changed their name from Co-Op Services to Zeal and they asked members the question of what Zeal means to them? They pontificated that Zeal meant a zest for their customers-among others. I thought service would be better with all of their so-called improvements, but they are absolutely NOT in favor of the member. Doing business with them-especially if you have a question with a live person is damn near impossible. I have been an outstanding member with enviable accounts since 1989 when I was in my early 20's. After COUNTLESS interactions with this institution since their name change, I've finally had enough and am moving my business to VIBE. I suggest anyone reading this look into other options as well.

The customer service thru teller is excellent. The (low) rating is due to the ATM. My son can NEVER get it to accept cash or checks, which has been extremely annoying

Like any banking institution, Zeal is out to make money. Of course they tell you that they are "member owned", and as such you would think that they would orient their business in favor of their customers/members, but that is clearly not they case. Zeal opportunistically looks for ways to make money through fees, and if you're not paying attention, they will stick it to you. If you open an auto loan account, they will force you to open an additional savings account (even if you already have one) and maintain a $5.00 balance in the account. WHY? Then when you payoff the loan, they pocket the $5.00 - not a huge deal, but WHY? I could go on.... but I'm not sure it would result in any changes....

Hello. I pulled up to the drive through at approximately 10:30AM on 5/25/2023. There were no other vehicles in the drive through. I pressed the bell for assistance because I needed a deposit slip. No one appeared. So I just decided to sign and endorse my check while I waited. Still no one appeared. I rang the bell again. No one answered. I waited a few more minutes. I started wondering if the bank was closed at this point and decided to leave. I saw a woman park near the drive through area in the back and she appeared to be a bank employee, so as I was pulling away I decided to get her attention. "Excuse me, is the bank open?" "Yes," she replied and kept walking. So I circled back around and pulled back into the drive through. I rang the bell again. A tall Caucasian man appeared with a smirk on his face and asked, "How can I help you?" I asked for a deposit slip. He said someone will be right with you. At the same time the Caucasian woman also appeared with her drawer. I sat there and waited for her to finally offer me assistance. Long story short, no one ever appeared to the window to just say, "We'll be with you shortly." Or, "Sorry for the long wait, how can we assist you?" The woman knew that I'd been waiting in drive through for awhile, because I asked her if the bank was open. Before I pulled away, I asked her why no one ever appeared to offer me any assistance? She just said, "They probably didn't hear the bell, I'm not sure. I wasn't here." Didn't hear the bell? She didn't even apologize. Just as she finished with this explanation, a Caucasian man pulled up, and as I watched, he was assisted "right away". This woman watched me intently from the time she appeared with her drawer, for she knew I was displeased. Yet, she didn't seem to have any sense of urgency to assist me. No one did. I called the Livonia office to complain when I got home. They advised me that they handled the complaints for the Walled Lake office and was going to pass my complaint on to the manager. I advised them that I was going to wait and see how my complaint was handled before contacting the NCUA, FTC, and Fox News. I am a Gulf War veteran and served my country for 8 years in the Navy, and I will not tolerate this horrible customer service. And if you're an African American customer, be very attentive to how you're being treated at this branch. Horrible customer service. Not even an apology. That really would have sufficed.

Just became a member at the walled lake branch about two weeks ago. The guy Mike has been very helpful, but every time I try using my ATM card it doesn't work. It keeps telling me that my membership number and pin are incorrect. So tomorrow I will have to leave work 2 hours early so I can remove my money from this location. In my opinion this place has very poor customer service. It's shameful that I can't get any of my money when I need it. If I could give a zero rating I would.

The ATM at this branch is constantly not working. A lot of times you cannot either get cash or deposit cash/checks. Other than that my experiences have been mostly positive. I've always been treated kindly by all staff.

If you have to talk to a human, this is not the banking institution for you. I am trying to report a lost debit card and get a new one. I have been going thru their root canal type prompting system for about a half hour after spending a lot of time trying to handle it on line. So long as your interaction is online and simplistic, all is mostly good. But if you want to talk to somebody forget it. Or you can drive to a branch which for us is about a half hour. I've been a member for over 30 years. Have to figure out an alternative.
