One would have to appreciate being rustic in order to appreciate this cute little place. There are no TVs in rooms and the restaurant downstairs is no longer in business. However, the place is clean, the lobby is cozy when fireplace is going, and staff is friendly.

I visited Union Pier for the first time. My Mom was considering booking a room at Gordon Beach Inn. When we entered the lobby, and inquired about using a public restroom, we were immediately turned away, and was told all bathrooms were out of order. The humanity side of me did not want to believe that this was racism, but I have a hard time believing this was anything else. Please do not stay here- they should not be allowed to get away with this type of behavior!

Loved our stay at this quaint little inn. Very basic rooms but very clean and comfortable. If you love old hotels, you’ll enjoy this one. Pretty fireplace in lounge area. Close to lots of Harbor Country attractions.

My go to in SW Michigan. Not fancy, but that’s one of its charms. It feels like I’m stepping back 100 years with its quaint atmosphere. It’s best in low season when there are less people and you can sit before a roaring fire in the great room.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this historic inn. The room had comfortable beds, adequate space, and it had a refrigerator and microwave. We loved sitting in the beautiful lobby and enjoying a great fire. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The reasonable price for this area , had me worried but we will be going back!Plenty of great restaurant’s in the area and walking on the lake shore was a bonus!

If you want quiet surroundings this is the place for you. Located in a residential area the streets are safe for walking. The beach is a 15 minute walk along gravel streets. There are roughly 68 steps down to the beach. With a bench for resting halfway down. The coffee is roasted locally and delicious.

Located a short walk from the beach, Gordon Beach Inn is a quaint and cozy place to stay. It's an older building so it has a ton of character. There are no TVs so it feels like you are escaping a lot of the noise. They do have WiFi. There is coffee in the morning but no breakfast. If you are looking for a place that isn't a chain hotel and has more of a homey atmosphere, give Gordon Beach Inn a try.

The worst service 2 hours later and no food, Bug infested and there was a rat running through my legs are you kidding me and when I was advised the waitress she started yelling and rude. Nasty place and never will come back. Save yourself don’t go to this place there are other places that are better!! Infested apocalypse!!!

Wonderful service and couldn't ask for a better location. Great coffee, (but skip the breakfast. It's served with plastic eating utensils. The eggs were rubbery and bland.) I love all the history associated with this hotel! Beautiful reception room. Too bad the management pinches pennies on room decor and quality of beds.

I've stayed here a couple of times and can say it's a great place... it's a beautiful building with tons of character and warmth... there are dog-friendly rooms and the surrounding neighborhood is heavily-wooded with beautiful tall trees... nearby are lots of upscale shops, restaurants, and cafes (but the Gordon Beach Inn remains very affordable) and Union Pier/New Buffalo have nice spots to see Lake Michigan in an area known for high waves... also, it's not that far from the Indiana DunesSafety: very safeNoteworthy details: nice hotel with an interesting history

Had a great 2 day getaway at the Gordon Beach Inn. We will be returning for sure. The private beach a short 5 minute hike away was phenomenal.

This is a cute hotel with friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms. A short walk to Lake Michigan through a beautiful neighborhood with beautiful homes and gardens. A short walk to a deli, grocery store and gelato place. A short walk to renting a bike which was a nice ride to New Buffalo. Loved this place and will definitely stay again.Rooms: The room was comfy with a king bed, big bathroom, jacuzzi tub and rocking chairs.Nearby activities: Beach is a short walk where you share with the neighborhood. Bike rental is a short walk and riding to New Buffalo was a nice ride.Safety: The neighborhood felt safe and I had no problem walking around.Walkability: A short walk to several activities.

I have stayed at this charming inn numerous times, in all seasons. In the fall there is a huge stone fireplace in the main area to relax , read , sip coffee or wine. We enjoy the nearby wineries and pumpkin farms at harvest. In the summer, you are a few short blocks to Lake Michigan through a quiet country setting. The restaurant on property has changing hours, but is welcoming with an interesting menu. A screened in porch, fire pits, lounge chairs and good company makes this a cozy unpretentious spot to enjoy a break from city life. I can’t wait to return again in July. Renting a bicycle to explore and get around to shops, groceries and several restaurants close by. New Buffalo is 3 miles south, with tons of shops and other restaurants.
