We were reluctant to look for our forever dog due to the negative reviews. Although we weren't greeted immediately I considered it a no pressure store. The cages were extremely clean and puppies appeared to be well taken care of. There were several puppies that fit our criteria. We fell in love with a Mini Golden doodle. If you call phone number listed you will not receive accurate information. We were told the pets are under $2000 dollars, although were told prices are given at the store. The dog we are looking at is $3000. This is over our budget of $2000. We have decided to return the second day to make a decision. The puppy was unique any are considering a purchase. Missed opportunity we should have looked at the Cavapoo. We will today and make a decision. Very comfortable with Bobby the associate. We will most likely purchase the welcome package. We are going to maybe pay more than expected, but the convenience is important. Instead of traveling all over for a dog. Now you know what to expect before a visit. Hope this helps and you find your perfect friend!

My experience at the store was bittersweet. The staff were friendly, but the puppies were overpriced. I contacted customer service and received conflicting prices. Following my recent pet loss, I was willing to over spend more by using the company's financial services, unaware that it would result in multiple credit checks at once. Although I was denied from three of the lenders I was also approved for one which was in-store financing, I was told this would require me to pay a deposit equal to half the price, which I agreed to, but my financing request was denied by the store owner which was crazy, why give options if there not accepted in the first place!!! The store's handling of the situation and their attempts to include additional items with the puppies were disappointing because most of those items I did not want or need anyway, that's their way of taking advantage of people for additional costs. Despite the puppies' cuteness, it was an unsatisfying experience with the company. I'll just continue to be patient & spend less with a personal breeder for my next fur baby!!

Just my opinion, but this very much seemed like a puppy mill.

These puppies are not being taken care of at this place. Most of them are sick and will need a lot of vet care / attention. They’re in confined spaces all day behind dirty glass. Another odd thing… how is this dog’s name Percy two weeks but now his name is Gimmighoul? Odd. Just find a local breeder, you’ll be paying the same price.

Me and my fiance had bought a husky puppy from The Family Puppy in June of 2023 from the Troy location at Oakland Mall. These dogs are supposed to come with a clean bill of health as they get their dogs from certified breeders. In the contract that you sign with this place, it clearly states that if the dog is found to have a genetic defect, you are entitled to a refund for your dog. Our dog was then diagnosed with Juvenile Cataracts and we started the process of getting the refund for the dog in the beginning of February of 2024. We have put about $1,000 into medications and vet appointments for our dog that we are still paying off by the way. The cost of surgery to make it so our dog isnt blind for the rest of his life will be about $8,000. We are now down to not enough money to buy groceries for ourselves and still have not gotten our refund check and it is currently the end of March 2024. Almost 2 months of working with this company that has lied to us over and over again to not give us a refund. If you dont want to have to take a company to small claims court, I would suggest finding somewhere else to get a dog.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Puppy mill puppies that aren't guaranteed healthy like you might think. Do your research into ethical breeders, this place clearly does not use them and is only trying to make a profit. And if you think you're "rescuing" the puppy from them, they will just replace the puppy with another one if it does not get sold and will be used to breed more puppies for you to choose from. Don't fund puppy mills. If you're going to spend this much on puppies just go to actual breeders rather than pet stores, their health and genetic testing and standards are much better than pet stores and are worth it in the long run. I know it's tempting but please do your research first. As far as the owners response... Notice how there is no denial of where they source their puppies from? Interesting... Please keep that in mind!!

I purchased a mini Bernadoodle on 11/26/2023. He was five months old. He was missing vaccines and was underweight according to our vet. The Family Puppy was not feeding him enough. The sales man was not able to explain the PAW TREE ENROLLMENT. They sold me the puppy but held my credit card and used it to enroll me in a monthly food delivery for the puppy. I received a box in the mail with more food, that is simplyTERRIBLE and I intend to return the other bag. The snacks and food additives are horrible; none of my dogs would touch. The only good thing is the dog shampoo. I will send a complaint to the Office of Attorney General Consumer Complaints Division so they can investigate this practice of enrolling a customer in a monthly food delivery service without the person’s consent and using my credit card to pay for something I didn’t order.

Manager feels that it’s an acceptable business practice to sign people up for recurring bills from some 3rd party dog food company. Manager believes slipping an ad in my packet is acceptable behavior and a copy of my paperwork I signed. This was so misrepresented, I called calmly and had to hang up cause I was getting yelled at. Unacceptable business practice. Also, my puppy was so sick from being in there I’ve been back to the vet countless times. Thank god I got him out of there.
