One of the rudest employees ever. I went in at 10am, purchased an “on sale” hoodie. Didn’t end up needing it, so went back the same day to return it. She told me clearance items cannot be returned. I asked if we could just because I purchased it a few hours ago and did not see any signs stating you all sale items are final. Her response, it’s under every sign. So debasing there dumbfounded, and I didn’t see any sign saying that, she told me she will give me store credit. She hands me the card and says “here”. I walked over to where I got the hoodie, nothing stating all sales are final. Walked to the next clearly sign. “Priced as marked”. Again, nothing saying clearance items are final. Her attitude and misinformation that she’s proposing to customers is pretty sad. Fits the face of their store who you get to deal with. Someone lying (clearly as the signs do not say that) and Simone who chooses to be rude instead of helpful.

Terrible customer service. Took over an hour just to show me a gun then told me it would be another couple hours if I wanted to purchase it! Wow ! I never saw people who were supposed to be working move so slow! They make you take a number but then they run off to help other people with no number. I saw one guy just walking around trying to avoid doing anything. I will never step foot in this sportsmen warehouse location 14 mile and john R in troy Michigan again. When I asked for the store manager they told me he had left for the day. Stay away from this store !

Just had the absolute best shopping experience at Sportsman's Warehouse in Troy, Mi. I took my son in to be fitted for his first bow. Steve - in the archery department was absolutely amazing. Not only did he fit my son for his bow, but he took him out on the range and taught him how to shoot. Of note, Steve was the lone employee working in the archery section. Despite this he took his time and did not rush anything. Steve is a true ambassador to the sport and made an amazing impression on my son and I. This was the kind of shopping experience that will absolutely have us returning to Sportsman's Warehouse for our future outdoor needs. I wish i could have tipped Steve for his service, but apparently that is frowned upon.

I went here to purchase a rifle and based on my experience, I will pursue my purchase through a different FFL than return here.1. When I went to the counter and asked to see the rifle, the customer representative aimed the gun directly at me. The first - and I mean THE FIRST THING they teach you in firearm safety is to ALWAYS treat the firearm as if it were loaded and to NEVER aim the firearm at someone! And even if it was brand new/off-the-shelf, its still incredibly rude manners to point a gun at someone!2. The rifle I was looking at had a 10-round capacity instead of a 30-round capacity. For whichever reason, this made the representative very standoffish and aloof that I would have the temerity to see a rifle with a 10-round capacity (one, mind you, that they had in stock and was able to reach off the shelf to sell!) Any questions I asked were met with "Nope, sorry, I don't know anything about that." I have to wonder if the representative would've had the same attitude toward someone who asked for a higher-capacity firearm.3. There was feeling that the representative was more interested in asserting his bias while giving off an aura of "I know more about this than you do" (despite not being able to answer requisite questions about the rifle's features) rather than to serve the customer. I did my homework and knew this was the rifle I wanted, but the representative's bias got in the way and dissuaded me from making the purchase because he "knew a guy who had a buddy who said the rifle was bad" because it had a 10-round capacity (again, despite not being able to answer requisite questions about the rifle's features). The one thing we both know is that there's now an $800 rifle sitting in their inventory instead of having been sold.So thanks for letting me head over there to confirm that the rifle you all have in stock is in fact the one I want. I have the model number to work with another FFL to get this. My advice? Take a field trip to any of the Cabela's locations the parent company also manages and see how they do things over there, because the experience between the two was night and day.

Great place to shop. Had a great selection and some hard to find items I was looking for. The only issue is that it seemed like nothing was priced especially in the Icefishing area. Had to use the internet several time to figure out the prices. They had bins in the middle of the store with no pricing. I loved the store but got tired of searching and asking for prices.

Do not order anything from here. If it is not in the store forget about getting it here, go to Bass Pro Shop. I ordered my bird gun and was told it would be in the day after I ordered. It is not 12 days and they have no clue.

This is my goto outdoor store for all of my Archery, Hunting, Shooting, and Reloading needs. Always amazing customer service. A special thanks to Steve in the archery department ? his expertise and knowledge is priceless, and he has helped me with 3 different bow repairs on 3 old compound bows. Thanks, Sportsman Warehouse ????

There's a reason cabelas and bass pro are the best. Don't agree? Just try this place. Ordering online is a disaster. Problem after problem. Incorrect inventory, multiple trips to the store. After multiple attempts to pick up my order, I just cancelled it. Never again.

I had ordered a crossbow online for pick up and showed that it was in stock at the store. When I went in to pick it up 6 hours later it was not ready and was told that it was coming in from another store. I had driven 1 hour to get this item. The person at the register was no help and asked for the manager. He could not tell me how long it would be to be able to get the crossbow.I told him to credit it back and just left. I checked online and it still showed in stock. The next morning I called and asked if they had the item number in stock and was told that there was 7 in stock on the shelf. Since, I was going to be in the area the following day I decided to stop by and just pick one up. I arrived at the store at 11 am. I waited by the archery area for 10 minutes and no one showed up to help. I walked up to the cash register and asked for the item number as I just wanted to purchase it. I was told that I had to wait for someone in archery and they paged someone over intercom. Again, waited another 10 minutes and no one showed up. I called the customer service number for Troy location and hit 7 for archery and was told there would be no one in archery till at least 1 pm and no one else could help me.I went back up to the register and was told by the 2 people behind the register that there was nothing they could do.I just laughed and left. I could not believe the terrible customer service I experienced. There was not a single person there that cared about trying to help!

I went in yesterday to check out the BOGO clearance sale with my wife and while we were there we stopped to check out a couple of handguns. The young man that helped us seemed bothered by the fact that we wanted to look at a couple guns. I asked a question about one of them and used the wrong terminology and he was very quick to correct me and then proceeded to bash the choices of what we wanted to look at. It's too bad because I had cash in my pocket to purchase one but probably won't be buying one here.

Given the popularity of hunting, fishing, camping, backpacking, and other outdoor activities is Michigan, you'd think there'd be more stores catering to these activities in South Oakland county, but the number has shrunk over the years. There's a Cabelas over by Selfridge, and a Bass Pro Sports up in Auburn Hills, but this is the only big outdoors store within 30miles of me. (I don't count Dunhams, which caters mainly to team sport activities.) Sportsman's Warehouse is the only big box store in the area that caters to traditional outdoor activities, and while it's no Cabelas, it's not bad. The archery selection is fair if you're a fan of compound bows or crossbows, but the last time I looked that had on,y two recurves or longbows. There's a lot of fishing gear for fans of spinning and bait casting, but not a lot of quality fly fishing gear. Selection in most departments is a lot narrower than you'll find at Cabelas, and not all sizes are in stock. Several times I've gone there looking for shoes and boots but couldn't find any 12s in what I was looking for. I went looking for a range bag a while ago and found just a handful of bags. The firearms selection is decent if you're looking for a 9mm auto or an AR clone, but you won't see a wide range of .22 rifles or pistols. The reloading equipment section is very thin, with only a handful of powders, cases, and bullets. Ammunition selection is wide in areas like 9mm and .223, but thinner in other areas. The .22RF selection is a seemingly random selection that changes, probably depending on what available.Still, I do visit regularly, and sometimes find good deals. I picked up a Frog Togs rain jacket that was on sale not long ago, and sometimes you'll see something interesting in the used firearms section. If you don't have a regular sporting goods store nearby, and you do t want to make a long trek to Cabelas, it's a hand place for many supplies.

Went to look at a rifle today and see what was good. I was browsing the gun section with my spouse, waiting for someone to be available at the counter so we could look at it, and I saw a flicker of laser light. I looked over to see that one of the employees behind the counter had a revolver trained on me from about a dozen feet away, with the laser sight on! He made eye contact with me, so it's clear he knew he was pointing the gun at my chest. I've been to many firearm shops and have never ever seen any employee so careless about gun safety. This was our first and last time at the store for obvious reasons.

I drove out to this location to purchase a large sleeping bag for an upcoming trip. The box and packaging looked fine. When I got it home and opened the box it was very obvious that the bag had been used, but I unrolled it anyway. It was full of dirt and debris. Someone had used it on dirt, rolled it up, and returned it. I spoke to the manager and they apologized but when I returned it to the store (quite the drive for me coming from Milford) they acted as though I was bothering them. Didn’t make any efforts to apologize or make up for the inconvenience of buying a used sleeping bag. Just disappointed that a used item like that made it back to the shelves and that the customer support made little effort to make it right.

Don’t bother buying a firearm here. The staff is very rude, arrogant, has a “know it all” attitude and not very friendly to new customers. I had taken my brother to purchase his first firearm and we just didn’t feel comfortable working with the employees running the firearm section. Ended up going to a local shop and they were so friendly and genuinely excited to help us.
