Overall my experience at this school was an 7/10 but Miss Terri made it a 10/10, She truly cares about the students as if they were her own. Not only does she support you through your time being there, she goes above and beyond to check in with you once you’re finished and is there to help you with any troubles you have afterwards. She is truly an amazing person.

I graduated from MCB this past year for Manicuring. Ms.C was my instructor she was great she taught me so much and has tons of experience. I loved my classmates and I had a good overall experience, but the school itself could use some work and the lady Ms. Chris that runs the school needs to retire.

Terri, the Placement Director, is wonderful and a great person to deal with. Wendy, the Junior Room, Cosmetology Instructor, is awesome. She has colored and cut my hair on many occasions, and cut my husband's hair and did a great job. Any student will surely learn a lot from her.

I hesitated at first to come to the school clinic because I was told that students would be giving the services. They were, but under the supervision of their instructors. They did great and I AS WELL AS MY WALLET, left pleased with the results. The school has a nice staff that is friendly and helpful. I will go again.

The people were very friendly. The pedicure was amazing! The wait was only 10-15 minutes, which is amazing considering this is a beauty school. The atmosphere is very nice.

Tried to get a pedicure done here for the first time today.Walked in, was checked in fairly quickly, paid, and taken downstairs for the nail service.Unfortunately I didn't last more than 5 mins downstairs and decided to leave while the student was setting up for the service. The ventilation was nonexistent. The chemicals smell here was so strong it was sickening. I feel kind of bad for the students, that really can't be safe.I went back upstairs and was refunded no problem.Customer Service and pricing was was fine. The safety and cleanliness of the nail salon area in the basement was highly concerning though!

After finishing both cosmetology and esthetics programs with MCB I had flourished with the knowledge and skills that I'd learned and built off of from this school, having come back 10 years later for another program with them I am floored with the advances they have made in their curriculum for their students. They have gone above and beyond with this program and have added in things I'd have dreamed about getting my hands into as a beginner in my fields of study. This school has been and remains my top choice for any of their offered programs.

Don’t waste your money and your time in this school. 90% of the time you are sitting down doing nothing. Very rude instructor and make you look stupid when you ask a question. They fight with students and cause problems. With other schools, students learn so many different things and receive amazing products. Not to mention, the program is a lot cheaper. They set their students to be on their own when they graduate. ( I recommend skinology beauty institute school). We didn’t learn anything, I had to teach myself outside of school. The place is very dirty, the towels we use for facials they use them to swipe the floors. Very disgusting! The makeup instructor doesn’t know anything, the whole two weeks you are watching YouTube videos.

This was the best decision ever. I went to get my nails done right before spring break, and I wasn’t expecting it to turn out so beautiful. Diamond was SOOOO GOODDDDDD. Such a positive environment and will definitely be coming back

I feel bad leaving just 3 stars, but I have to be honest. I think I will just spend the extra money to get my hair done professionally from now on (or do it myself). Most of the time, the girls are super kind and attentive...however, they clearly don't know how to do textured hair (most of them). There have been quite a few times I've walked out with hair my hair dry and kind of Afro-ish. The instructors are usually very helpful to the students, but of course, they can't be there the whole time. It seems like the students need to be much more well versed in different hair types and products/chemicals before getting on the floor.Again, I have gone quite a few times in the past year or so since it's so much cheaper.. plus the staff and students are usually very polite. The instructors are pretty knowledgeable..I just have one gripe which is minor. The instructors should kindly tell you that they are not allowed to accept tips. I gave an instructor a tip for helping a student who had no clue how to do my textured hair. The instructor accepted the tip from me, then went and gave it to the student (after I had already told the instructor I tipped the student). It was annoying. Buuut, if no one deserved extra, this girl did. She was the sweetest, provided excellent customer service, and did an okay job on my hair. My hair was puffy but I flattened it when I got home. Best of luck to all those super sweet girls (and guys) who have serviced me!

Went to school here October 2022- March 2023 esthetics program in Troy Mi... Going to school here was a nightmare. So much miscommunication between staff, instructors don't know anything + need more training all while paying 12k$+ and walking out without knowing anything. I will mention that the goal of this school is to only get you ready for state boards and they told us that at the end when I finished which sucked cuz had I known that I would have gone somewhere else and taken my money to learn throughout the duration of school. Getting ready for state boards was a week thing so spending 12k for a week of preparing for state boards was a slap to the face. Anything I learned was from YouTube videos / podcasts on my own time. When you tour this school make sure you ask every question( seriously anything you can think of) , cuz some will lie or they didn't know so they made up stuff. Everybody says something different. For example I paid 15$ in the beginning and I thought it was for state boards and she assured me and said "nope! You won't have to pay anything this is it!" 245$ later that was not the case. Kit is 2k so be warned that the things you get does not equal the 2k. This school is out dated and old as they well know which is fine but I'm not sure where each students tuition is going to if there's no remodel/ updates. Esthetics instructor were nice but they were all reading from the same book I bought that (Tuition) so I spent 12k to learn absolutely nothing. I mean 0. Hardly any point for the instructors because any question I would ask they didn't know the answer or they gave me the wrong one just to give an answer. Things were demo'd once which is kinda silly. There goes my tuition for the one time demo. Some instructors were younger than me and 24. I was expecting instructors to be full of knowledge and I would learn so much from there but that did not happen. Lots of other ridiculous things happened but the one that thing that makes me upset after all of this is that these people can take my hard earned money and not care that these students aren't learning anything. I can't believe I have to tell my friends and family that I learned nothing. That's what keeps me up at night considering they've been open since the 90s so to me it's just to make money and could care less about the students education. We voiced our concerns throughout the whole 6 months and they only approached us when we were graduating. Doesn't look good as did many other things. If you need help with state boards come here but be prepared to learn absolutely nothing. Tour every school and ask all those questions as well as confirming with another source

Excellent school and staff! Would highly recommend to anyone that wants to enter the beauty industry as a cosmetologist, esthetician, or nail technician to look into enrolling and attending one of the three programs here. The staff is warm and inviting and they create and maintain a learning environment that is conducive to the goals of the students.
