Most incompetent company ever. My mortgage was sold to them and they have failed to pay my flood or homeowners insurance possibly causing cancellation. Over 4 hours on the phone with them wherein I was advised they overnighted check yesterday. I asked for proof that payment was issued and then was told it takes 5 days to issue payment. What they meant to say is they requested a check to be overnighted yesterday. Beware if your mortgage is sold to this company.

Don’t buy with freedom mortgage as your company unless you want your taxes to go unpaid then you pay the delinquency fees yourself. Despite sending them it TWICE. Don’t dare try to get someone from the tax or escrow department on the phone. As I sit here on a ten minute silent phone call once again.Is this enough to get a phone call back?If I could give you less than one star, I would.

If I could give a zero star I would. This company bought our mortgage loan 2 years ago. Last year they wanted to increase our mortgage payment by $515.12 this year they wanted to increase it by $818.70 After many many calls and visits to township, mortgage broker to make sure were accurate which we were and Freedom Mortgage constantly does an incorrect " Escrow analysis" refusing to fix it until 4 months ago and it seems like they keep messing up each tax season. I will get a call saying " we need more documents" then 10 minutes before the call they said the township tax bill paperwork is wrong and they are right. Yet a tax bill doesn't lie. This company is so incompetent's and cannot get anything right expect you to pay without challenging and then turning out you were right and refusing to pay you back the incorrect mortgage payment they charged you for all these years. It has gotten so bad that were willing to loose our 2% interest rate and refinance for no cash back with a 7% interest rate just to get away from this company.

By far the absolute worst mortgage company to be attached to. Doesn’t matter how simple something can be fixed, they take an average of 45+ days to do anything. As of recent, they lost my tax refund check since January, here it April.

If you're considering Freedom Mortgage, think twice. Promises of "7 to 10 business days" for processing turn into over a month of waiting, with zero progress. Calls? Expect them to go unreturned. This company's lack of communication and action has been nothing short of astonishing. I'm taking my grievances to the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services. Consider this a warning: the stress and frustration you'll face with Freedom Mortgage might just outweigh the convenience you're hoping for. Look elsewhere to save yourself the headache.

ATROCIOUS customer service, messed up on my taxes, owes me a refund on taxes and VERY difficult to get. Maribel is the most unprofessional call center agent ever!5th time calling in a week and tired of telling the same story

Websites are far out of date. Can't make more than 2 advance payments. Can't pay for an escrow shortage and 1 month mortgage at the same time. Lack in several areas on website, just too little access to information. Every customer service rep has a heavy accent, but they are very nice just sometimes difficult to understand. Its a shame companies can buy out your mortgages and be so lacking. I would not recommend using this company until they get their act together. Would not choose this company had i had the option.

THE ABSOLUTE WORSE MORTGAGE COMPANY TO EVER BE WITH!! If your lender has sold your mortgage to these dirt bags, I would seriously consider refinancing the first chance you get. Our house was damaged by hail in June and IT IS NOW THE END OF AUGUST. And we have STILL NOT been able to fix our house because they take days upon days to return our check, only to say they need some other documentation proving we’re using the money to fix our house. They hold the money to make interest off it I’m sure. FREEDOM MORTGAGE IS THE WORSE MORTGAGE COMPANY EVER.( Edit to add)So the whole reason they were beating around the bush on getting our money back was because they said our account was delinquent. So, not only were they taking FOREVER to send our money back, they were only sending in increments. Lo and behold, MONTHS later I might add, my husband receives a phone call from them saying our account was never delinquent and they sent us the rest of the money, very quickly I might add. Almost a year later and our house finally looks normal again. What a joke of a mortgage company. Needs to be shut down.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! There should be a zero star option on google reviews and they 100% deserve it. I might re-finance just to get away from them, even if it costs me money.They bought my loan. They didn't automatically transfer my previous payment. They didn't let me setup an online account for months. In which time they sent me fear mongering letters that I'm in default, they're going to report me for late payment, and I'll be in foreclosure next month. Even though they didn't give me a way to pay them until just now!! Today I was finally able to setup the account online and pay the past due payment and they don't seem to have an AUTO PAY feature. This company is preying on people to foreclose on them. I cannot say enough bad things about my experience with Freedom mortgage.

The most irresponsible, non-communicating, non-vet helping mortgage company you can go with. Do yourself a favor and choose a different company. I wasn’t surprised at 1.4 stars.
