===== NOT PET FRIENDLY! ===== Screenshot captured in the wild, as of today. Apparently English isn't the first language of the folks that write their online and in-lobby advertisements, because I think most Americans would qualify a cat as a 'pet.' What their advertisement should say is 'dog friendly,' so there's a free "English 101" for you, Sonesta. They welcome dogs, but gave us the finger at eleven o'clock at night (2/1/25) after 9hrs of driving. Here's some free legal advice, too: Mean what you say, and say what you mean. We went to Tru by Hilton (off Maple, Troy MI.) and they welcomed our PET; we stayed there a week and it was a fantastic stay.

Terrible experience management team needs to be fired all together. Serious weed smell in the stairwell area and roaches plus hug mountains of dog pop all around the property. I mean I get that they are dog friendly but why is there so much pop everywhere all around the outside areas. I like to take brisk walks in the morning around the building and it was the nastiest thing I had ever seen in my life. And there a front desk staff member named Ryan I think and he was so rude to me and I will never ever return. Sonesta PLEASE DO BETTER

Worst hotel stay I have ever had. Please Never stay here if you dont have to and they have roaches and ants plus a nasty cigarette smoke smell

The hotel itself is quite unusual. There’s no lobby, no café, no restaurant, and no real amenities aside from a very small gym. The front desk staff is rarely available—you have to call them to show up, which was frustrating. During our four-day stay, we asked for room service on the second day, only to be told that they don’t provide it. When I asked for fresh towels, the front desk lady suggested I find the housekeeping cart in the hallway and grab the towels myself.
To be fair, the rooms were decent. They are spacious and well-maintained. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, and it was comfortable enough. However, the lack of services and amenities made the overall experience disappointing. While the rooms were fine, I don’t think we’ll be returning.

I came in after being out late for Thanksgiving. My key card didn't work. I have been trying for a half hour to get someone to help me. Nobody is responding. I need to get into the room that I have paid for!! I'm exhausted and need my meds. Plus I have to pee! I am extremely disappointed. My first night here my heat did not work either, plus somebody left the windows open. This is totally unacceptable!!!

I recently stayed at Sonesta Simply Suites Detroit Troy, and it was an absolute delight!
From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always ready to offer assistance, which made my stay stress-free.
The suite itself was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed. The kitchen area was fully equipped, which allowed me to prepare my meals and feel more at home. The room also had a cozy vibe, with modern furnishings and a comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after a long day.
One of the best parts of my stay was the convenience. The location is excellent, with quick access to nearby shopping, dining, and attractions in Troy and Detroit. And for longer stays, having amenities like a laundry room and gym made a huge difference.
If you're looking for a comfortable, well-located place to stay in the Detroit area, I highly recommend Sonesta Simply Suites Detroit Troy. It's perfect for anyone looking for a clean, quiet, and well-managed place to unwind.

Before you even think about booking this room be prepared for the $150 deposit and the nursing home vibe. The deposit was not mentioned in the policy or the booking site. I was better off going to a motel. The hotel room smells like cigarettes and mildew. The lady at the front desk was rude and the hallways smell horrible. I will not be booking with this hotel again.

Miss leading details no ice machine, no coffee. Room booked was king bed was told they don't have King rooms.
Would recommend for long term stays.
Not over night stay. Carpet was soaking wet do to being cleaned that day!!

My family and I typically always stay with the sonesta simply suites franchise and we usually have a great experience. However when we came out to the Troy location it was absolutely horrendous. From the moment you enter the building you instantly can smell a very bad Oder . The front desk agent at this location was completely rude and out of line . We switches rooms about 3 times due to either roaches , bed bugs or just simply uncleanliness. Each time we asked for a room change we were greeted with attitude as if it’s our fault that the pest were in the room. We asked to speak to the manager Mr. Morgan multiple times and kept getting the run around . This hotel has serious maintenance issues . There are prostituted and dealers that lurk the halls at night . The only time I’ve ever seen the place clean was in the morning . I’ve never had this experience at the Novi location , I’ve never had this bad of an experience at the Warren location or the Southfield location. Please spend your money else where !! The price isn’t worth the treatment the staff gives guest.
