I saw Trish, and she was very nice and personable. I actually did enjoy chatting with her. This was my first time going to a “nicer” salon, since I usually just go to a Super Cuts type place honestly. The reviews were great, so I thought I’d give it a try. I showed her some pictures and basically wanted a trim with layers and a face frame in the front. I don’t know anything about hair, so that’s why I showed pictures and trusted she knew what she was doing. The end result does not look anything like the pictures I showed her. The layering is wayyyy too extreme. In her defense, I did say something like “I usually don’t notice the layering/face frame I get when I’ve gotten cut in the past”, so I guess she really took that to heart and went for it. Basically, what I’m most upset with is how much I paid for the haircut. It did not turn out great and she didn’t even style/blow dry it or anything. Did I pay $50 for the front street location? I think so. I’m not trying to be mean or hurtful, and I know the bad cut is partly my fault for not being super clear and direct. After my experience, I just wouldn’t recommend this salon.UPDATE: Trish did reach out and make things right, I’ll be happy to try again!Service: Haircut

Aubrie was recommended Buy a close friend. I went there to transition from coloring my hair blonde to Grey. It took about a year and only a few sessions. It was actually enjoyable as it looks so natural. I probably get 3 to 5 compliments on my hair all week. It’s hard to believe but true. I keep telling them about Aubrie. Not only can she color like nobody But she can cut hair in playful but classic ways.

It took me awhile to find the perfect stylist and I finally did when I met Aubrie! Great personality and so naturally talented with hair! I have long thick curly hair and everything from the color to cut is always on point ? I have been seeing Aubrie for the past 3 years and it is always a wonderful experience!

Aubrie at Salon West saved my hair in 2016 when it was green and had a lot of breakage. I’ve been going to her for touch ups on highlights and haircuts ever since. My hair is beautiful and healthy now thanks to her. I will always go to Aubrie as long as I live in Traverse City! She is so kind, talented, and amazing at her job.

Haircuts for me had always carried the similar emotional weight of a dentist appointment or a service trip to the car dealer - that is, until I started regularly going to Aubrie at Salon West. Great cuts (which I get constant compliments on), great service/conversation, and easy scheduling have rescued me from the day-of walk-in appointments with random strangers that I endured in the past. Highly recommended by this simplicity-seeking millennial dude.
