Vast selection of quality local and organic groceries. We were so impressed with their selection that we came here twice during our short visit to Traverse City so that we could stock up for our next destination.

I love this store, although it's rather pricey. Beautiful produce, excellent cheeses, etc. Check it out.

The produce price gouging is out of control and I’ve shopped here and at the other location for years. Recently, it’s gotten absurd considering the produce pricing does not just apply to local vendors who could justify a higher cost of doing business.
Now, there’s only rotisserie chickens some days at 11am and 4pm. Oryana apparently bought another location without fully appreciating that a second location run as a co-op is not exactly the best business model. It seems that the staff (particularly those stuck in prepped food and the coffee/juice bar) got hit pretty badly. It’s not great we are all stuck in city funded on tourism so when those dollars don’t hit certain markets, or
the “board” needs to take an Econ class. Or 8.
If you can’t afford to pay living wages AND be a co-op, accept the business model and capitalism is a joke and cut services. Your stressed out staff (who matter more than customers, but is too I guess) will be less anxious and annoyed at these (and other) concerns than just accepting you don’t have the overhead or staff to offer certain highly perishable items.

There are many hard to find items available in the store. It is kind of like a Trader Joe's type of store.

There have been many times where I would have rated it a four or higher, and I don't do a lot of reviews, but this needed to be seen. CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES. I bought vitamins, brought them home, and they're freaking expired by four months. I went back to exchange them, and all the boxes of the same product were equally expired. I asked the cashiers what to do since the ones in that brand were all expired and was presented with two options: money back and go to a different store or pay the difference for a more expensive brand (or opt for the cheapest.) This is irritating because Oryana already price gouges on everything, and on top of having to drive all the way back to return the expired product, now I have to go look for it at a different store or spend more on a different product. I can expect to check expiration dates at a local mom and pop shop or even a gas station, but fancy Oryana? Not cool.

They have continuously improving selections, and great sales. I especially enjoy picking up fresh bread from various local bakeries, all in one place.
