“We were able to get a good rate for a week date and it was at the expected level of luxury. Helpful people everywhere inside the hotel. Great views from the patios and even from the hotel window that was facing the parking lot. Nice selection of toiletries and a very interesting shower ( yup, interesting). Good champagne, cheap coffee in the room. It's a very romantic place if you are looking for that”

“The only hotel we will stay in Traverse City. Always amazing service, friendly and helpful staff and large, comfortable suites. The shuttle to the downtown area is so convenient and their restaurant and bar are top notch.”

“Stayed two nights and wish we had more time to enjoy this historic Inn and it's surroundings. The setting is peaceful with a pretty water view of the lake. The owners are incredibly kind, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the history of the Inn and it's prior owners. We had a comfortable stay and enjoyed viewing the carefully chosen antiques around the property and reading stories about past owners. The location is convenient to the peninsula lighthouse, numerous vineyards, and orchards, as well as a short scenic drive to downtown.”

“Can’t beat this great location with easy proximity to the wineries, beaches, and downtown traverse city. It is easy to park and get in and out, I appreciate the small touches here such as a free nice latte machine in the lobby and cookies at 6pm that are complimentary. It’s also wonderful there is an indoor pool available 24 hours (not super heated but comfortable) and the location feels safe and secure. The rooms are decently spacious and have a mini fridge. I also liked the breakfast which is available until 10pm. The waffle maker even had two flavors banana nut and regular! Note this hotel is pet friendly and there is a nice side walk right outside the hotel. I appreciated that it wasn’t a noisy hotel/ rooms seem decently sound proofed so you don’t hear guest traffic all the time, even though our room was next door to a room with a dog.

Rooms: Rooms are decently spacious and have a good number of outlets, also has a mini fridge! The shower/ bathroom is a good size and I like the pharmacopeia toiletries. TVs are a little small and while cable is there, there is no guide to search for your favorite show.

Safety: Felt safe and secure in these rooms and area seemed safe.

Walkability: Sidewalk right outside the hotel which makes it easy to go walk wherever you want to. Could still be at least 1.5 miles walking though each way to downtown traverse city.

Noteworthy details: Appreciate the free latte maker in the lobby and complimentary cookie at 6 pm and 24 hour indoor pool.”

“Recently stayed in Cabin 9 for a family vacation. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and even though all other cabins on the property were rented by a very large and active group, cabin 9 was very peaceful, however that quiet comes at the expense of a very limited view of the lake. The property is extremely well maintained and has a good amount of amenities. The beach area is well kept and the swimming area at the property has a predominantly soft sandy bottom. The newer pontoon boats are very well maintained and extremely comfortable for a day out on the lake, in addition I really loved that renting a tube is an option and the on site kyacks that are open for resort guest use. The owners truly thought of anything and everything.

The reason for four stars instead of five is for cabin #9 itself. I'm sure this isn't an issue for most but but I haven't seen my concerns brought up in any other reviews and thought this feedback could be useful for any families considering staying in Cabin #9. The upstairs bedrooms seemed to be a later addition to this unit, it seems to be an attic conversion. There is no HVAC in either of the upstairs bedrooms which made these rooms very stuffy and warm during our stay. The owner or manager was on the spot with providing fans but it didn't do much to reduce how warm these rooms are. Also, for anyone staying with small kids or unsteady older adults, there is no bathroom on the upper floor and to reach the bathroom you have to walk down a rattly spiral staircase, which in the middle of the night can be dangerous or could wake up other guests in the home. We also cooked most nights and found all the knives to be dull (but this a constant with most vacation rentals in my experience). We also had to give the grill a very thorough scrub before use but again, this isn't something I'd count against the resort, but rather, something to just keep on your radar.

Overall this is a beautiful place that's been immaculately maintained, family friendly and pride in the ownership of this resort really reflects. I would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.... But maybe not upstairs in cabin #9.”

“We spent the weekend at Ranch Rudolf for a retirement party and had such a great time! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. The pool was perfect for relaxing, and the tubing down the river was an absolute highlight. Everything was well taken care of, and the whole atmosphere made for a fun and memorable weekend. Highly recommend for a getaway up north!”

“Hotel Indigo saved our family vacation after a very disappointing and disgusting experience at another hotel. Due to the conditions at the other hotel, we had to scramble to find a new place to stay.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Indigo, the staff were incredibly kind, professional, and helpful. We had inquired about booking a room for the remainder of our stay, but at that time, the hotel was completely booked. The front desk staff informed us that cancellations sometimes happen and encouraged us to check back in the morning to see if we could extend our stay.

With the stressful experience we had, I couldn’t sleep much that night. By luck, there was a cancellation around 5 a.m. I saw there was availability, and the hotel was able to extend our stay for the remainder of our trip. We assumed we were switching rooms, which we were completely fine with given our situation, but the gentleman at the front desk went above and beyond to keep us in the same room—something we greatly appreciated.

The valets deserve special recognition, Conner, Gunner, and the rest of the staff, were wonderful every time we interacted with them. They were quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Always greeting us with a smile and pleasant conversation while getting or dropping off our vehicle. Their service made a big difference in helping us feel welcomed and cared for during our trip.

The hotel itself was very clean, modern, and well-maintained. Our room had a wonderful view of the bay and provided a good location for anything we needed. We especially enjoyed sunsets up on the rooftop restaurant—the food and drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was great. After such a rough start to our trip, Hotel Indigo and it’s amazing staff truly turned things around for us. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!”

“We stayed Wednesday through Saturday. It was amazing! There was so much to do, including the adventure quest( I'm not certain on the name) and the arcade. The gift shop had tons of merchandise, kind of pricey though. The waterpark was awesome. I felt the rooms were outdated but we would definitely come back”

The room was clean and comfortable, and the whole vibe of the hotel felt welcoming. Special thanks to the front desk staff, especially Sundus, who was super kind and made check-in easy. Would definitely come back!”
