“We love Burrits.....but....bought the frozen lasagna and told a person behind the counter I wanted to eat it that evening. The person pointed to the instructions on the package and said I didn't need to thaw, just heat it up in the oven since it has been cooked before freezing.Huge mistake. Is it common knowledge to thaw first and it's my fault? I don't know but clearly "just reheat" is not correct. Turned into a $50 waste of soupy lasagna. Lesson learned.”
“Vast selection of quality local and organic groceries. We were so impressed with their selection that we came here twice during our short visit to Traverse City so that we could stock up for our next destination.”
“We absolutely love their stuffed pork ateak and pork chops! We make it a point to pick either or both up when we're in the are! Try them, you won't be disappointed!!!”
“So, if you are in Traverse City, and you making your way up to see the Mission Point Light House, stop in and see this quaint store! The owners are absolutely awesome and a hoot to talk with. The store has some cool history and lore of which I can't confirm or deny, but supposedly this was the second gas station in the US, or perhaps Michigan, and that ole Henry Ford helped build on the restaurant portion of the store. In addition, the store was supposedly also a fur trading stop at one point. Regardless, stop, take in the cool old atmosphere at the Old Mission General Store. ?”
“My visit was 4/21/24. I went in 15 minutes before they closed. I was making tamales for the very first time. I have never been to an ethnic star before. They were ABOVE AND BEYOND HELPFUL. The selections are endless! They answered every question I had with patience and kindness and professionalism. Literally mopping the floors but did not mind that that was there just as they were trying to close. My tamales turned out pretty good for the first try! I can't wait to go back to the store and take my time looking around. So much to choose from! The cactus salad that was recommended was absolutely AMAZING- Just so impressed with the service. I can't wait to go back!”
“I love this market!! It is close to home. Every time I need something, they seem to have it in stock. The Deli items are delicious and they make cabbage rolls.....a personal favorite! Highly recommend.”
“Large convenient store. Have everything u need for big family dinners, restaurant supplies, or catering under one roof. The checkout lady I had was not very pleasant at all but it was 3 days b4 Christmas so I kinda understand, except I'm also in the service industry and the time of yr makes no difference 2 me when it comes to customer service. But I do understand.”
“We bought a fresh whole turkey from Edson Farms for Thanksgiving. The turkey was sooo good- the absolutely BEST TURKEY EVER! My entire family raved about the moistness and flavor. It was worth every penny to present a turkey of that quality to my precious family Thank you Edson Farms!”
“Been coming here since I was child I'm from New York when I visit my family I get my beer and food like pizza from there pizza is pretty good coming from a new Yorker like myself who gets top notch pies being I can't order for a place near my home up there long lake makes the next best thing”
“I have a soft spot in my heart for this place because my great grandma lived around the corner and knew the family that ran the store for a long time. With that said, it is a great store to stop at on the way to a picnic at the lake or on the way home after a long day at work. Every time I'm in the area, I like to stop in and get that wonderful nostalgia feeling.”
“They have a great selection of different foods. They even have bison and venison (venison is ground only as far as I could see). They have a self serve jelly belly section, and also a bunch of other candies, that you can buy per lb. The prices over all are a bit more expensive than regular grocery stores, but you're paying for convenience.”
“Stopped in not knowing what to expect just based on the sign at the street advertising "pierogi." Was amazed with this place!Super cute shop with lots of imported grocery items and local stuff for sale. Very affordable prices! They make pierogi and kielbasa coins fresh and hot in store with one table for eating. Or you can purchase frozen pierogi to take home and enjoy. We did both. Also grabbed some hot paprika, terravita chocolate bars and whole caraway seeds for later. What a great little shop! We will definitely be back.”

3123 W South Airport Rd, Traverse City“Love Aldis. Great place for something different. Very nice cheeses and meats. Great self check out areas . I don't like self checkouts but they have many so you don't have to wait long to check out. Easy parking. Bring your bags or boxes to bag your grocery. They used to charge a 25 cart fee. Just Snag one take one in from the lot . Not sure if they charge still.”
“great place! fast in and out and always have low price on gas. clean window washers and good fluids as well. very happy with service and ease of on and off the road.”
“12/14/23- I stopped by because I like to visit the local grocery store when I travel. Tom's did not let me down. The store has an aisle dedicated to Michigan made merchandise. Honey, drinks, jams, salsas, peanut butter and lots of good foods. You'll also find souvenirs with a few clothing items.I had fun and the employees were great. Except the old lady stocking the Michigan shelf because I was taking pictures ?I also check the candy bar and chips section. That's where I found these Cherry Bbq chips. They taste like cherry with a little bit of bbq. If you like cherries I would try these. I don't like cherries ? that much but these are good. The store isn't crowded and I think it is because although they have self checkout they have plenty of cashiers for those who still like people. I was impressed. Friendly staff and the prices are reasonable to the other grocery stores. If I lived here I would shop here.”
“I make it a point to check out the Asian markets wherever I'm at. This one is very nice, clean and a good selection. The staff was very helpful. I would love it if they had some fresh produce and maybe some meat selection. Other than that, they have pretty much everything you can find in the big city.”
“Every time I've gone, the line has not been long and I've gotten in and out quickly. I love the pay method with my phone overall, gas is usually very competitively priced.”
“Love this store...when you can get canned goods at half the price as most other stores. The store is really looking good now, seems like they opened up the isles and it's much cleaner then before. Not that it was dirty before...just seems nice and clean”
“You see ad pop ups (which I detest) saying that Tom's Market is #1 in Traverse City.Personally, I believe most grocers are similarly priced to stay competitive with each other, and I get that. For the most part, I think the price of food is absolutely ridiculous! So, I guess if you are going to pay a premium price for your groceries, you should be able to expect top notch services, a clean and bright environment and service staff to match it.That's why you go to Tom's. You see, Tom's has that all day, everyday. And where your hard earned dollar is spent, should you not expect top notch a$ well?”
“The pharmacy is the best they take such good care of me they always make sure I have all my medicine filled and if I need anything all I have to do is call and they will answer my questions”
“Great little store that has most everything.... quick in and out... sometimes I hate....no! All the time I hate going into those huge stores. And they are in the heart of downtown...one of the best in town”
“Quick & convenient... when I'm already at Sam's. Really wish they had a drive-thru when I only need a prescription. Staff is great, but hours are limited & closed Sundays.”
“We didn't use the Scan & Go this time but we were in and out so quick. Awesome place to shop, such bargains!!! Their lunches are oh so gooood and oh so rightly priced!!!”
“Higher prices then other "grocery stores". Has best selection of local products in TC. Sraff is usually friendly and helpful. Great place to shop if you have "food issues" like me. I go there mostly to buy High quality cheese and glass bottle milk.”
