I hate to leave bad reviews, but I just couldn't let this one slide. It would be one thing if it only happened once, but this happened twice at this location. I do a lot of online pickups because going into the store gives me high anxiety/panic attacks. But I'm still ordering from the brick and mortar store (which is good for the community). Sometimes things I order don't work out (because I can't test them) and I have to go in store to return them. This gives me major anxiety top of the anxiety I have of just going into a store. A few weeks ago, a blonde woman (with hair just past her shoulders) with big light (blue?) eyes waited on me. She's in her 30s-40s and has a managerial air about her. I didn't get her name. I had a return and somehow my anxiety was brought up and she snarked that I have to come into the store anyway to do an online pick up. That rubbed me the wrong way but I let it slide. Well Monday July 29th at around 12-2pm Ulta at Southland Mall, the same blonde woman waited on me. The system was down and instead of looking at my email receipt to key in the amount I paid to issue me a refund, she said to come back later...I called the Woodhaven location and they said their system was down but would take care of me as long as I had my email receipt to show how much I paid (with discounts etc). This blonde woman simply did not want to key in my return. I will not be coming back to the Southland location because of her. I will order online and have it delivered or will pick it up in Woodhaven or Allen Park. There's return rules and windows for a reason, and I am well within them and have a right to return an item that doesn't work for me without getting an attitude or even worse, in this case, a refusal to wait on me "because their system was down". Kudos to the customer service at the Woodhaven location for offering to take the time to key in a return instead of acting like they couldn't do anything like this blonde woman at Southland. As long as she's working there, this location won't get any more of my money.

Manager was extremely rude to her employee for no reason. I had to pick up an order for DoorDash. I’m a guy I would be in this store for a half hour looking for this product. The employee was very nice and offered to get it for me and it took her literally 2 seconds and when she came back the lady manager yelled at her for helping me. Saying I get paid to do that. I’m sorry but doesn’t she and you get paid as well to help people find your products?

Rarely go to Ulta because it's a bit overwhelming. But, today, I was hoping to find some new foundation, and Jonathan not only assisted me in making a recommendation but took the time to assess my needs and carefully color match me. When the color I needed was out of stock, he provided me with a small take-home sample and told me exactly how to "store to door" my order. Thanks so much, Jonathan!

The older lady with grey hair that appeared to be the manager made me extremely uncomfortable. she was dismissive and rude about simple questions i had asked, on top of giving me incorrect information. won’t be returning because of her.

I got my eyebrows done by AMBER off North Maple in Ann Arbor. She does an amazing job and makes you feel comfortable while receiving services. I would recommend her to anyone who's new or regular to go for a visit. I always get exactly what I ask for with her and she walks you through all of the steps of what she's doing.

If I could give a 0 I would, I got my hair done today and to start I walked in there couldn't find anyone on the floor so I asked someone in the hair department for just someone to help me, she asked with what I say how I needed something for my pores and wondering if they sell toner. She insists doing my hair so I caved and said yes, she got done and I wasn't a fan she then points me in the direction of the manager Cary so I could get something for my pores. Cary was so rude and looks as if she's strung out on something. Whatever I get my stuff I'm heading to the front to pay the lady at the register god bless her soul helps me asks how I like my hair I told her I didn't like it was going to ask if she knew what I could do to get this blue toner out my hair. She said how the hair lady could fix it so I go back, she fixes it by adding more bleach. When I'm sitting in the chair with wet hair I'm just picking through my hair to look at it and it's falling out... did it look better yes was it breaking off also yes, so I said screw this imma just pay and go home and when I said something to CARY she looks at me like I'm crazy and goes "that's what happens when you bleach your hair" I've gotten my hair done so many times and this has never happened. The girl next to me getting her hair done looked amazing! I won't lie I think their was just a miscommunication between me and the hairdresser just don't let them curl your hair and I hope you don't run into CARY

I came in to the salon for a last minute appt this was my fault because my normal stylist was booked. I got a color and a cut. My stylist was very kind and friendly and we held great conversation however I asked her for some specific requests and the reason I asked questions was because if the service couldn’t be accommodated I wouldn’t have gotten it. So I didn’t want to dye my hair at home because I didn’t want it all on my face and ears and such and she “tried” but she only wiped one side of my face and I was thinking based on the information she gave earlier it wasn’t that necessary and something about how she washed it after takes it off so then she’s scrubbing my roots with a towel, which I just wouldn’t have minded if my roots weren’t touched and hence why I asked but anyways the color is great after three washes so I’m kinda terrible for complaining. On the other hand My haircut looks like absolute choppy garbage. I noticed how short she was going on my under layers and asked can just not go any shorter than that because it was already was shorter than what I asked for. I assumed my concerns were heard and now that I’ve left I see my top layers kept getting taken higher and higher and it’s a hack job. She curled my hair afterward and charged me for the styling to hide the absolute horrendous lengths. The front is different lengths when you look straight on. It looks like I did a tiktok trend haircut at home. I kind of was scared to book at first because I was thinking “great clips” cut but I shook it off and built anticipation only to be thoroughly disappointed.

The girls were very helpful. I was a lil scared at first I don't usually go into big namebrand places for makeup but they were very helpful. Helped to find a nice skintone foundation for me, a nice black lipstick, very knowledgeable and if someone wasnt they had walkies to grab someone who knew better. Overall the experience was nice and my anxiety quickly went away

Have shopped here before. Had a gift certificate. Elizabeth was so helpful and informative. Every time I've shopped, a sales clerk always asks if I need assistance.

Best staff ever!! Me and my husband don't get out much and bri just made our visit there so fun and rememorable!! Some may think a trip to ulta as a couple is not fun well we had a blast??? Thank you bri!! And also a big shout out to the manager I'm sorry I didn't get your name she made sure I got my amazing free gift with my maelys purchase!!!
