In January of 2024, I traded in my 2021 GMC lease at Road Runner Auto sales inc. They instantly showed me a brand new used Lincoln. They said it had some "minor accidents" but was all fixed up. They assured me and showed me it was a green title vehicle. However, I was lied to and later found out the car has been previously totaled. Car facts contradicts itself. It says guaranteed, not salvaged, however the car facts state total loss. As of 7/10/24 I was interested in another vehicle. They ran the vin on the Lincoln I got from Road Runner and said the vehicle is TOTALED and that it’s worth $7,800. I just paid $17,721 for a “non salvaged green title vehicle”. The Lincoln is Canadian and I believe Road Runner Auto Sales Inc. had some kind of connection to wash the title or get it through as non salvage, when in fact it is salvaged. My insurance believes I have a non salvaged vehicle (lies) so I am concerned about my values of coverage there. On top of selling me a salvaged vehicle that should have been sold for $8k, they claimed it was in good condition and listed it for $17k. When I asked to test drive it, they insisted an employee from the shop ride with me, making sure I didn’t find the red flags, which now I understand why they wouldn’t let me test it by myself.
Six months into ownership and I'm trying to get out this mess.
3/6/24 I had a check engine light come on for critical engine problems. And requires a $2,000 repair and it needs a $1000 new air conditioner, which are both still needed.
As of today, I’ve spent $1705 in mandatory repairs.
In conclusion, I paid $17,721 less than 6 months ago and its total loss value is $7,800. I believe I should be reimbursed the difference in all repairs related to the accident that totaled the vehicle should be completed properly.
I should also be issued a new salvaged title instead of a normal green title. This used car dealership tricked me, just like they did to a lot of people according to their online reviews. My vehicle lost $10,000 in value from the purchase price. There needs to be some resolution.
