Busy Sunday morning, but amazing food and service. My granddaughter loved the french toast. I recommend a skillet breakfast. Very good.

How many times? How many times have I driven by The Grill, and I wondered what it was like? Literally hundreds of times, omw to work or anything else that way since I live a couple miles away. Finally!! I remember that I had been thinking about eating there and I had a bit to spend on some food. Craving a burger (I don't get them very much anywhere for any number of reasons, a few of which they hit here, unfortunately) I stopped in around 11:30am, was warmly greeted by the bartender who correctly guessed that I was going to order to-go. She gave me a menu, a few minutes to peruse, and I chose the bacon cheeseburger, medium, with a side of sweet potato fries. It wasn't busy, busy, but it wasn't empty. My food came in a timely manner. Sadly, that's where the good part of the food ended. In my head. I had already paid, the very nice bartender had packed it up, and I left to fill my empty tummy. As hungry as I was, I grabbed a quick bite before my two mintute drive home. I think that because I was so hungry, I didn't notice everything until I was sitting down at home. WHOA BLAND-O-RIFIC! There was no seasoning on the burger. Nothing!? You always season unless specifically asked not to. After almost 30 years in kitchens around the world, I'm not just saying that. Salt is a flavor enhancer as long as you use the right amount, gently pulling the natural flavors out to their peak places. The difference between a properly seasoned dish and one not seasoned at all is unmistakable. And not as tasty. I put a little sea salt and fresh pepper on the meat and ... it was better. The fries had to be tossed in my airfryer since they weren't done, then they were salted, too. The bun was toasted, but not with anything that had fat in it. When you brush a bun with some butter or oil and grill it, you create a sort of "seal" so your buns/breads don't get doggy soggy from the juices or the condiments. They must have missed the bottom bun. It was a soggy doggy bottom bum bun. I didn't see what the burgers weighed there, but I'm guessing they are around a third of a pound? It was cooked more on the medium-well side from carry-over, but it wasn't mooshed down and dried out. I'm not sure, but it was a bit too much for me. Most burgers are too big at sit-down places, in my opinion, and almost always out of balance with the rest of the ingredients that come with whatever style burger you order. Or you get what we have here, a tomato slice way too thick (especially on one side, hehe) to stay on the burger and large chopped lettuce that joins your tomato slice bit by bit on the plate. Idk, I'm going back eventually either way. They've been around for a very long time. Every restaurant has their off days in either the FOH (front of house) or BOH. Or both. You don't last long if you have a lot of those days consistently. So, there's definitely more to The Grill than just this one not-so-great meal. Maybe I'll try breakfast items next time ??♂️? To Be Contondered .....

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. We had breakfast there last week. I ordered the ranchero omelette which was one of the best omelettes I've eaten. I order the home style potatoes and the waitress brought hashbrowns. When I brought it to her attention she apologized and said to Keep the hashbrowns and she would get the correct potatoes for me. Very polite about it. About 3 minutes later the manager came rushing out with a plate stating I had to give back the hashbrowns if I wanted the potatoes I ordered. No problem. However, she was very rude about it. I had to scrape the hashbrowns off my plate for her. My husband also ordered the home style potatoes. He didn't get his with to the rest of his meal either. We were almost done eating by the time the potatoes arrived. Mistakes happen, but the way the manager responded, rushing out with a plate extended in front of her, with an attitude really rubbed me the wrong way. It was their mistake, not mine. My husband's meal was average. The biscuits and gravy weren't very good but his bacon was crisp. We had high hopes for this restaurant but likely won't be back to try again.

The service was very good. The tuna melt was yummy (ask for whole wheat instead). Looking forward to trying more items.

Stopped for lunch at 2:15pm. Placed 2 sandwich orders for us to eat in the restaurant and 1 order to go for my husband at home. I was fine letting the to go order come with our meals, but the waitress said she would place the to go order when she brought our food. Got ready to go and asked where the to go order was. She said she forgot to put in the order and now the kitchen was closed at 3. Unapologetic. Food was nothing special, but fine, however will be a long time before I eat here again, simply because the staff was so inconsiderate

Just moved to Michigan a few months ago, and I've been trying all the places near Keego Harbor and my surrounding area. This is by far the best breakfast we've had so far. We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner. Very friendly staff, which makes me give it the 5 star review.Pineapple upside down pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever had. Everything tasted fresh.Edit:We've been back several times. Food is pretty consistent. Certain meals you can order over and over, and it's always just the same as the last time. It would be nice to see a change in menu or the cook stay later to prepare the offered specials. I work rather late, so I'm frequently eating dinner at 8 pm or later. The Cook is usually gone by then. However, I appreciate the hot, tasty, consistent meal after a 13-hour work day, so my menial complaints are honestly moot. Also, I really like the music they play. Service is always friendly and attentive. 100% my favorite place in the area along with Mary Donnellys. Wish they were both open later. Haha.

Horrible service. Couldn't get seated so we sat at bar, and had the rudest woman behind the bar wait on us, who needs a major attitude adjustment and some eye drops(maybe the DMV is hiring)! After waiting 45 minutes for a few wraps, we decided to walk out. Will not be going back anytime soon.
